Ok, so i have some more info (from both here, and from random research) and i have one final question-
Will the actual stick it self feel similar between an AiaB custom and a TE if i’m choosing the sanwa octo from AaiB’s drop down list?
(i’m assuming the TE uses a similar, if not the same, sanwa octo, so… no, there’s no real stick difference)
(again, i have never used custom sticks, so i have no reference point)
Alright great I thought as much… but i just wanted to make sure. Must appreciated with the help, guys! I’m still not exactly sure which i’ll go for (it’ll probably be in two weeks on the next pay day) so it’ll be a last minute choice heh. But i feel as educated as i can, up until i can actually use one, so i’m a bit more confident in my options.
(also, side note to anyone that cares- thanks for all the help w/out the noobrage. It’s always good finding a decent board for questions, and it’s appreciated :))
Hi Guys, Noob question of the day. I have a PS3 TE and confirmed that it won’t work on my PC (UHCI blah blah problem). What are the options to modding the stick to work with PC? The PC i will be using is an ACER REVO so it can’t be expanded upon. I’m thinking TEasy + dualstrike?
So for you, you will have to replace PlayStation 3 TE PCB with Cthulhu or Dual Strike.
Or what other PlayStation 3 PCB there are, like Multi-Console Cthulhu and ChImp.
TEasy is made for 360 TEs and wont work with a PS3 TE. A Cthulhu or Dualstrike should be able to do the job, but you’ll end up losing the turbo and turbo LEDs, and it’d take some cutting and fine soldering to get the home button connected. If you’re cool with using Start+Select to activate Home, or drilling a new hole for a new Home button then either one can be installed solderlessly. Add an Arthong plexi top that covers over the spot the turbo LED board is at and it’d look slick and like it was made that way.
I don’t know if anyone would really care, but i picked up one of the MvC TE sticks at a local store (w00t!) and i’m finally getting (back) into some serious playing. I also just ordered the octo plate, for that extra smooth style. Got ideas for colors and custom work for it too.
So thanks for the help I’ll pass any along if i think it’d be useful
I need a new spring for my sanwa JLF… it’s flying back and hitting the opposite direction when I let it go now. I thought I remember some posts about people buying certain kinds of springs from Home Depot (or any hardware store) and those working out really well. Does anyone know if I can go out and buy a specific pack of springs or a single spring that will fit inside the joystick, either as a new spring or inside the current spring?
No difference between the two, they use the exact same microswitches if they are counterparts like OBSF and OBSN. Just installation method. They could last longer if they came from different batches, but that has little to do with the model of the button.
Thanks for having a Noob thread. I’m having some trouble with my TE stick. To make the my down left position fire I have to press harder to make it register. I cannot get my 2 in 1’s. c.MK -> Hadoken to work from the right hand side. I though it was just me, but I was in the training room for a long time and I can hear the switches firing, but the input isn’t registering unless I press hard. Wondering what I can do. Do I need a new joystick, or…I don’t even know what, thanks.
open the TE from the topside and look at the wireing harness connected to your joystick. Make sure the wireing harness is plugged in firm on your stick and where it connects to the pcb and see if that fixes it. My TE had similar problems when i purchased it and the problem went away when I adjusted my harness.
Very noobie to custom art, I want to change my default TE art to one of the shadowloo.com stick art. When i download the readymade stick art, can someone tell me the exact steps right after that to getting it printed then to swap out? where to print out?what material do you print on?
I live in Europe, and I want to buy seimitsu(maybe custom PCBs too) parts. What site can ship worldwide, payment by credit card(no pay-pal) and is reliable? I tried to order from akihabarashop.jp but I don’t have a pay-pal account(can’t create one either, because the country I’m in right now doesn’t support pay-pal). I would appreciate the help.
