Absolute Question and Answer Thread (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

Dont really know if this is really tech related by SRK standards but I have a question does anyone know what video editor can fix crooked videos for free
example

proper way to work with plexi? leave the protective film on until you are done working on the plexi.

When drilling through plexi, get a drill press if you can, if you’re hand drilling, make sure its clamped down good.

hey, I have a dual modded te stick and it keeps randomly pausing thoughout play. Any help on what could be wrong and how i can fix it? Lemme know

Is it dual-modded with a Cthulhu or a ChImp? If so, the best place to ask that is here :

I bought an SE case without the guts from krayzied240 and added a PiiWee to play on a wii. I’ve also added toodles’ FGWidget board to light up the buttons. Yesterday I just added a madcatz 4716 360 controller. Everything seems to work fine with the 360, but when I unplug the usb from my 360 and plug the wii extension cord into the wiimote and press the 1+2 buttons, the LEDs of the 360 controller flash, the wiimote no longer connects to my iphone (snes emulator) and the LEDs do not light up anymore. It seems like the power from the wiimote is going into the 360 controller and shorting something out. Could I add a diode to prevent any current from going into the 360 controller?

What are the golden rules of dual pcb mods?

Oh my god. Arcade stick on an emulator for an iPhone that’s dual modded? Wacky. You don’t want any current not going into your 360 controller, all PCBs must be powered in a dual mod. So, it’s good that the 360 PCB is flashing, it needs to be powered.

HAHA it’s more for testing purposes since I don’t have a wii. My gf does. the thing is, the 360 controller flashes twice and the button LEDs don’t light up at all. even when i plug it back into the 360 they don’t light up. i would have to disconnect the vcc from the 360 controller, plug the arcade stick back into the wii for the LEDs to work again. then i reconnect the vcc wire to the controller. i have to do that each time i connect it to the wiimote.

EDIT: nevermind i figured it out. I think one of the wires was touching another and was shorting it out. Works perfectly now.

Is anyone still making stick cases? I’m looking for a wide case similar to the VLX.

thanks everyone for answering my question about cutting.drilling plexi srk is too kind

Hey guys… absolute noobie thread, here I am. I have a question regarding stick buttons. Why do most arcade sticks, including the TE sticks and HRAP3, have 8 face buttons? From what I can tell most games only need 6, and most people’s custom sticks only have 6. What are the extra 2 buttons for? Do any games use them?

Thanks…

Sometimes, I ask myself the same exact thing…

IN seriousness, though, there’s a couple reasons, firstly, you have to look at who you want to market these to. You want to have them with full functionality. A lot of people would look at it and say “Where are the other two? What a waste!” Also, it’s marketable to say “SNK format; top four, American style; last six, Japanese style; first six,” which offers different styles of play to the average user. I can think of no (GOOD) fighting game that requires more than six. Vewlix control panels have 7, but the least one is covered if playing Street fighter. It’s just in the marketability. Not to mention, a lot of people wouldn’t buy if their sticks didn’t have that full functionality of being able to go through menus.

In general, though, if you want a TE or HRAP with only 6, get a plexiglass cover to cover up those pesky unneeded extras. It’s a good habit to have.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. Very helpful.

Still not sure which stick I’m going to buy then… need to do more research.

how do you make/print stickart and does anyone knows anyone that does it for a small fee? thanks in advance

arthong will print the art for you.
And he will laser cut the art for you also.
That is if you have a Tournament Edition or HRAP.

What is your Arcade Stick?
To make art, you download the appropriate Template.
Then you use image edit program and start doing stuff to Template.

d3v can make art for you for a price.
He does super good stuff.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I solved the problem. Took out the white plastic transparent thingy from the bottom with ‘sanwa’ written on it, then those 4 boxes for directional clicks and still the problem was there. So poured 5-6 drops of machine oil and it’s working silky smooth now. Just the way it was when I first bought it.

Which is better at preventing lag on your Xbox 360 setup: HDMI cable or Component cable?

How do I put an E-Clip back on a JLF?

I use plier to snap it back.
My fingers are too weak to do.

Weak, and it hurts.

I would like to see someone do it with their fingers. Probably a manly Seimitsu kind of guy.
