Absolute Question and Answer Thread (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

Thanks for the quick response, hopefully it isn’t too hard.

got sfiv pc set up but im new to some of these settings, I want to keep it as low as i can, and if i’m not mistaken a hadoken just slowed the game now.

what’s this V-synch and parallel rendering?

If I screwed in the screw to far where my pcb is, would it damage it?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I don’t want to make another thread and clog up the forum if it’s an easy as all hell answer.

My PS3, basically, it turns on, I can insert and eject disks, but there’s no audio or video coming off it and the controller won’t connect to it (even tried the arcade sticks and nout).
I tried putting it into safe mode, it won’t even go into it. Just switches on then back off again, I get one beep before it goes off.

Anyone know what I can do here?

I’m the last person to correct the mighty Toodles, but would he need it with the ASCII, which draws 3.3V? I had these wired up to a Namco sticks without any additional fun.

I could have sworn one of those (rtdzign or strogg) was using it for an ASCII instead of a flash, but I could easily be wrong. The only model optical ASCII I know of is the one that went into Dreamcast sticks, which is entirely 5v. If Im remembering correctly from the one I disected, it used the same 220 ohm resistors for the LEDs, just like the flash did. In both cases, ASCII and Flash, there were occasions when the board would work with 3.3v from a PSX/PS2, and times when they wouldn’t.
If you mostly use those Namcos with a converter, every converter I know of execpt for the PSX->Wii converters, don’t regulate the power and send 5v to the PSX controller. My current understanding is that some will work off of 3.3v, some will be flaky off of 3.3v, and in either case, hooking them up to a 5v regulator absolutely will not harm anything. If his ASCII has a flaky direction powered by a PS2 but works peachy on 5v systems, I’m very confident that a power regulator will fix him up.

Hey guys, I’m in the middle of pad hacking a Madcatz 4716 according to this guide, How to padhack an 08/09 Madcatz 4716 Common Ground Xbox 360 Pad

I ran into a problem taking off the orange pods for the triggers and part of the original solder on the board came off. Is there a way I can fix this so I can use the triggers and if not can I just disable the triggers… or did I essentially break the pad.

What are my options for buying a 360 PCB for my SE?

I actually got an Ascii out of a Project Justice PS2 stick, and it still required the 3.3v convertor. when I gutted out the Ascii and used it with the MCC down direction didn’t work, so I had to use that 3.3v convertor.

I’d have to dig around with the multimeter but perhaps the Namco runs on a higher voltage?

I know that when I hook up a 2 AA cell battery pack (3v) to test out the ASCII that not enough voltage goes around to make all the switches work when I do a multimeter test, but with 3 AA cells (4.5v) they seem to all work.

Hopefully it’s okay if I ask this here… most of the questions here are stick related.

I’m going to get a capture card soon so I can record my matches. Anyway, will I need a high-end computer to actually record the matches? The laptop I’m currently using isn’t really old but at the same time it’s not meant for gaming.

guys im a new member and i dont know where to post my problem, i have a madcatz te stick for the ps3, yesterday i noticed that the control module ( the part on the top which has home and turbo ) buttons is not working, rest of the stick works fine and has no problem what so ever only the module is not working, any ideas what the problem might be.

What of it does not work?

Did you try the Lock switch?

Are there any sites where people will build your stick for you and buy it online? I already found B15’s site, just wondering if there’s any more.

Im thinkin about gettin Guilty Gear Accent Core for the Wii. I have a fighting stick for the 360, anyone know any good converters I can use so I dont have to buy a stick just for the Wii?

USB does not turn into anything.

So I guess I’ll just have to buy a stick… But I dont know if I want it that bad.

thankyou guys it was the lock switch , thank god i posted this in the noobie thread
