Absolute Question and Answer Thread (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

ok jdm i came to this thread so i didnt clutter the other. is there a trick to hooking the ls-64 up to the 360 wireless pcb or is it pretty straight across connect the wires? i might just use two analog sticks for my friend. he isnt going to care a lot about the performance difference going to analog. he just wants to be able to play more games.

I have a dual-mod stick and I plugged it into my PS3 a few days ago. It wouldn’t read the Cthulu, but I plugged it into my PC/360 and it will read the madcatz PCB. Do I need to buy a new Cthulu?

I don’t know how to wire up an LS-64.

If you do know how, it would not work with the Xbox 360 PCB either.
The LS-64 requires +10V, while the PCB is only +5V from the USB.

Now this would be better.

that does look pretty sweet. but now how do i connect it to the 360 pcb? it looks like it needs to be set up on a pc. it has a usb hook up. they do sell an interface board and looked on their QnA section but found nothing about the 360 controller

No, you need to troubleshoot it. There’s a guide linked in the first post of the Cthulhu thread that will help with that.

LegendaryGamer wanted to use the Ultrastik 360 with Xbox 360 PCB.

Also, your Wireless Xbox 360 PCB needs to be the Common Ground.

alright so it looks like i might be able to take the ultrastik 360 hook it to the u-hid chip hook all the derectional wires to the chip and be good. i may have to hook it up to my pc to program it a bit. i just wish i could find some who has done this before. lol i guess analog is looked for much for fighting games. i wonder what the response time is on the ultrastik.

i will keep you posted and ask more im sure. i think i wam going to build him a simple stick for fighting games first then i will upgrade once i know i can do it. if for no other reason than it sounds like a fun mod to do lol

Laugh.
I want to see it work too.

I have a few questions about my sanwa JLF,for some reason my down input is feeling gummy and it makes a bump when i input, do you think adding lube would fix that? My other question is that,I think my micro switches are wearing out as it seems i’m a missing a lot of inputs when i could do them before, and now i have to hit inputs harder for them to come out, well i’m not absolutely sure whats wrong and i’d love some advice

Would it be possible to put Sanwa MS-0-2 levered microswitches in a Seimitsu LS-40-01 to make it into a LS-40?

I couldn’t seem to find any information regarding the manufacturer and model number of the levered switches Seimitsu uses.

Seimitsu uses Matsushita (Panasonic) Microswitches.

Seimitsu LS-32 and LS-40 has Matsushita AM51662C5N Microswitch.
Seimitsu LS-32-01 and LS-40-01 has Matsushita AM59074 Microswitch.

Both same ratings and stuff.

Making LS-40-01 into LS-40 is not by changing Microswitch.
It is by removing the PCB.

Is it because you don’t want to desolder the PCB, then soldering to the Terminals?
You wanting to use Quick Disconnects?

Yes, you can use OMRON V-152-6A5 (Sanwa MS-O-2).

Wow…you really are an encyclopaedia of arcade parts. Thank you. =)

Yes, I want to use Quick Disconnects (I plan on using a LS-40 in one of those Paewang/Datel sticks). I want to try and mod the stick with as little soldering as possible. I originally thought to solder a wire harness to the PCB of the Paewang stick, but if I can reuse the existing wires, why not?

So, I should be okay taking out the PCB of the LS-40-01 and then place the MS-0-2 switches to convert the LS-40-01 to a LS-40?

Yup.

The Levers are same length.
And holes are same place.

Does anyone have a fully dimensioned button layout diagram ? Slagcoin has a bunch of the popular layouts up, but they are not dimensioned all the way and don’t really help. I am going to make a custom stick and mill the box out of one brick of aluminum, but I need to CAD the button layout into the drawing.

Thanks

Can you point out specifically what it is you’re not seeing in the layouts? They look fully measured out.

Hey guys, im new to mods so i just have a few questions.
I just bought the SE fightstick and Ive read everywhere that its a good idea to get a new joystick for it.
So what type do i need to get? Im leaning heavily towards Sanwa, and i found a good website that sells them.
Is there any particular size that i need to buy? or are they all the same? same thing about the buttons lol

Go with the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK and Sanwa OBSF 30mm buttons(color of your choice). Easy to take out and put in.

Get a Sanwa JLF.
There is only one.

But I’ll make it easy.
Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT.

Get any 30mm, Sanwa or Seimitsu.
Snap-in or Screw-in.

Though one Sanwa Screw-in won’t fit because of the Mounting Bracket.
You would have to file the Nut of that one Button.

Lizardlick.com. Buy the model of Sanwa JLF marked as a “drop-in replacement” for the Madcatz fightstick.

For buttons: Any 30mm buttons will work. If you want Sanwas, get OBSF-30s.
