Seimitsu PS-14-DN(???).
http://shoryuken.com/f177/guide-how-put-art-under-clear-seimitsu-buttons-132705/
but do they make seimitsu the same size as the start button if so what size would thaat be?
Also what is the best way to paint my stick and what kind of paint should i use
Those are the Start and Select/Back Buttons.
Well I also don’t know what you are talking about.
Start Button of what?
Best is this.

But even with that, I don’t know what you are talking about.
Painting what?
Hey so I understand people get problems with the TE and I thought that it would never happen to me but the worst became possible! My joysticks pcb input is screwed up. I tested various methods and I am 100% sure that it’s the PCB. The joystick will not let me go diagonally up+right. When I hold it it just jumps up and not forward. How did you guys solve this? Was it possible to get another PCB from madcatz through warranty?
Yes, those can be used for Arcade Stick easy. :wgrin:
I have 1 namco stick which is very stiff compared to the other 4 namco’s i got and it returns to neutral very quick im able to wavedash ( tekken ) fastest on this and double qcf moves and playing fighting games in general feel so much better on this stick , how to make the rest of my namco sticks with the same stiffness ? add a ls-32 spring , jlf spring ? any help is appriciated thx
Sorry i didn’t go ino detail.Ok i just got a SF TE.I want paint the side of it and the brazel.also i wanted to change the start and select buttons but the info you gave work great.when you told me Seimitsu PS-14-DN i was thinking of ps-14-KN so i was lil confused thanks for your help
ok i tried to go through all 50 pages to see if this is coverd but i fail . so is there a site or anywhere i can buy just an xbox pcb? or am i going to have to buy a controller and gut out the chip and runs wires for the buttons. i am building a stick from wood going to be doing like 4 of them for freinds. some happ some sanwa a good mix. but i cant find a site that has the xbox pcb. i know the cthulu works for anything but 360 sny help would be great thanks
You have to buy a Controller and take the PCB.
Or:
The only place that sells a PCB that has Xbox 360 is eTokki.
The PCB is the Datel/Joytron Paewang Revolution PCB.
It is both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
So i have a PS3 TE R1, is it possible for me to mod it to get it working on a wii?
Replace the TE PCB with Multi-Console Cthulhu to get both PlayStation 3 and Gamecube support.
Or add a PiiWee to get Wii support.
Do i have to solder anything? I just checked out the Cthulhu thread and its a mass of information and im not exctly sure what i should be looking for.
Adding a PiiWee:
- Integrates well with the RS/DP/LS slide switch.
- Cheap
- May drain Wiimote batteries a little more than normal from powering the PS3 board
Adding/Replacing with an MC Cthulhu:
- Makes you able to play PS2 BC titles with stick if you have a BC capable PS3.
- All of the other systems the MC supports, easy if done with an RJ-45 mod
- Replacing the existing board entirely isn’t the easiest mod.
- Doesn’t do Wii-mote like the PiiWee; must use Gamecube cord, and must be a Gamecube controller compatable game (which is pretty much all fighters except SamSho Anthology)
- Costs more
- Slightly more difficult installation, especially with RJ-45 mod.
Either:
- Accessing the Home button on the top LED panel is a little tricky on PS3 Madcatz stuff.
You’d at to least have to solder the cord on either way. If that’s a problem, there are a number of techs in the Trading Outlet who offer dual mod services.
Ok, i think i might head to the outlet, but just to clarify a few things, the rj 45 mod lets you have multiple cords for different systems basically right?
A quick newbie question:
Im planning on making a stick for my PC, and though the added PS3 (maybe even XBox360) compatibility would be nice, i would really just like a easy pcb install that would work on USB. So far Ive come across the Dual Strike and Cthulu pcb, but im not quite sure (and too lazy to do an indepth look ) about the requirements of soldering.
My question basically is: with a Dual Strike / Cthulu pcb, you only have to connect the wires from the buttons in to each marked slot on the pcb with a screwdriver (e.g.: 2 wires from the push button in the number 1 slot?) and do the wires require special tips / end-caps (like the circular ones so that you can put the screw trough) ? No soldering is required?
I don’t know the dual strike well, so please understand I can only speak for the Cthulhus.
Either version of the Cthulhu (PS3 or MC) can be installed by itself in a stick without any soldering, for USB/PC/PS3 play. There’s nothing special needed. Take the wires from the buttons, strip a little insulation off of the end, and screw down; no tools needed except a screw driver. USB cord plugs into the jack. You can even go a little further and by a USB->Xbox1 adapter to play on an Xbox1 without soldering if you have an MC Cthulhu.

Things that will require soldering:
- Adding other console cables to an MC Cthulhu, like for Gamecube, PSX, or Saturn cables.
- Adding an RJ-45 jack. Once its added, making cables wont require soldering, but you’d need to solder the 8 points to get the RJ-45 jack itself installed the first time.
- Dual modding with an Xbox360 board.
Your question about the wires has me a little worried. Each button will have two connections; one is the ‘signal’, which wil go into the specific screw terminal, like ‘1P’ for the signal line going to your Jab button. The other will get connected to one of the four ‘GND’ screw terminals, usually in a ‘ground chain’, a daisy chain of wires that end in one wire going to that ‘GND’ screw terminal.
slagcoin is your friend. If that last sentence sounded confusing, they have an article that should help:
Joystick Controller - PCB and Wiring
If you lazy, then I’m lazy too.
No soldering needed if you get assembled Dual Strike or assembled Cthulhu.
No soldering needed if you crimp .110" Quick Disconnect to end of wire going to Button.
No end needed to put into the Screw Terminals.
Just strip wire and insert, then screw down.
One wire per Slot in Screw Terminal.
Two wires per Button.
One wire, any of the two, goes to the labeled Slot for that Input.
One wire, any of the two, goes to the labeled Slot for the Ground.
You can stuff multiple wires in for Ground.
Or you can Daisy-chain the Grounds together.
There are multiple Slots for Ground.
You can use one, or you can use all.
http://slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_wiring.html#SPLICING_AND_CHAINING
Daisy-chain.
For the USB, just stick a USB into the jack.
USB B one end, USB A the other end.
Also known as the USB from printer.
If you want Xbox 360, then there is soldering.
And will not be easy to have Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Wow, Toodles and jdm714 let me thank you both very much. I can see why this forum is considered “the” forum for fighting games and tech.
Btw: Is installing the joystick basically the same process with the common and ground wires mounted on the micro switch, and is daisy chaining less reliable than 1:1 ground mounting?
Just have to figure out the prices and shipping costs considering I live in a remote part of Europe.
Regarding my lack of experience in the electronics field and tendency to break things :(, I will just have to man up and carry the shame of asking my step dad (an ex electronics expert) for help -.-
