Absolute Question and Answer Thread (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

hello, I’ve recently purchased a SF4 Round 2 TE-stick and after the first day of use it became somewhat faulty. It seems as if it won’t connect with my PS3, it’s either something wrong with the stick or my PS3 simply rejects it…:stuck_out_tongue: When I connect it with the USB-cabel it’s powered up since the turbo lights flash if I try to put them on, but none of the buttons or joystick works. Sometimes in a magical moment it just starts to work by itself, however it has not worked when I just start my PS3. Does anyone have any experience with this? It’s kind of annoying since the stick is pretty awesome if you look away from the small fact that it doesn’t work… ;D

I went ahead and tried this out, and it certainly does the trick…almost TOO well.

It does it so well, in fact, that I can’t even get the shaft to make contact with the restrictor plate without having to use more force than normal. And this is no good for me, because I depend on my octagonal plate while I play! :stuck_out_tongue:

Any guess as to, in the event that I took out the second JLF spring and replaced it with a LS-33 spring, if it would offer me less resistance so that I can ride my octagonal gate more easily?

Yes, it should have slightly less resistance than the 2 JLF springs. You can also try removing the JLF spring and using 2 LS-33 springs, or try 1 LS-32 spring.

Hey there, I’m not sure how the LS-33 and the LS-32 springs compare, but from this picture (http://www.lizardlick.com/images/springs.jpg), the LS-32 spring looks much more stiff. I have tested the JLF spring in tandem with the LS-32 spring and it feels just about right. From what you were saying, two JFL spring seemed like the spring rate was too high and you may have been experiencing some binding (the spring coils actually hitting each other). I think two JLF springs in tandem will not work so well since you cant really intertwine them and you are effectively doubling the length of the spring.

A few follow up questions:

Did it work perfectly before?
Does it work on a PC now?

Which stick is better, the Vanilla TE stick or Super TE stick? Thinking about trading some stuff in to Gamestop to get the Vanilla TE stick but the Super one looks nice too. Is there a huge difference?

It’s honestly a matter of opinion. Get whichever one you think looks better. They have almost identical PCBs and both work well.

Oh ok, so there is no major difference? I am changing the TE template to the one on shadowloo.com (the hulk mvc3 one) regardless, just wanted to know if there was any stick/button differences?

They both use a JLF and legit Sanwa buttons. In the original TE, you have the white sides, and in the TE-S, there are no big sides like on the TE. Also, for Xbox360, the TE-S has different colored buttons to represent A B X and Y, whereas on the original, you have all white buttons with 2 dark-hai ones. So if you’re not planning on a button swap, that could play a factor in your decision.

Thanks for the info, Toggle! And your bat tops are too cool to even put into words!

I want it to look like this:

I’m getting it for PS3

Im l0oking to mod my HRAp3 with Sanwa button and I plan on using this stick for street fighter play, so really I am looking for the buttons that the te sticks use i guess or which buttons are used best at pro level for SSF4. I think im going with the Sanwa OBSF-30 Red… just checking to see if this is compatible.

Glad you like it, GL with the spring mod. PM me a picture when you get it all together.

How can i make my Button Light Up on my fight stick.Button Light Up on Action video

So I did my crappy soldering on the paewang… And the only thing that works is the joystick, usb power, and leds. none of the buttons work except home/guide… o_o

How do I fiX?!

How do I Crimp a QD to the wires?! How do I put a bunch of wires together into 1 joint without a harasness?

This here. Do these screw terminals on the sides work in the same manner as a cthulhu?

This has been bugging me for a while but how do Screw terminals work exactly? Do you still have to solder the wire underneath or?

The screw applies pressure to the contact underneath, sandwiching the wire in place. No need to solder.
