Absolute Question and Answer Thread (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

I have a Madcatz TE S (super) edition stick. I really want to change the artwork, but I can’t find any tutorials for the S stick. All i can find is artwork / tutorials for the old TE.

Does old TE and Super use the same size art? Like could i use any artwork from here - http://www.shadowloo.com/?page_id=1209

And how do i go about changing the art? Can i just take the screws off and rip that shit out?

OK im confused… i was ordering a TE from amazon and i wanted one of the round 2’s and not an S because i have heard some small downsides to the S (sharp corners)

So my question is, is this ps3 or xbox360? im pretty sure its xbox 360 but it says ps3 so i would just like a confirmation before i order?

it’s xbox.

edit: good question. lol.

To do the Cthulhu | Imp Switch | 360 Madcatz fightpad mod.

Do you have to padhack, or is it just a straight solder job?

Bear in mind I’m not 100% sure exactly what “Padhack” means :x

Padhack on this Forum means soldering.
Laugh.

So yes, you do have to solder wires to FightPad.
Then those wires will go to Cthulhu.

Gosh I feel silly now

that puts my mind at ease since after seeing the word padhack everywhere in place of solder I was like “whatdoIdo…am I doing something wrong here, AH!” and on the level of head explosion XD.

Thank you

This might be better suited for one of the Paewang/Datel threads, but I feel it’s “general elctronics” enough for the Absolute Noobie thread

I’m placing a Datel PCB in my 360 TE-S; I’ve removed the Mad Catz PCB, but left in the Turbo Panel PCB in order to re-use the Turbo and Guide buttons. I spent a good portion of last night wiring it all up. Joystick, buttons, all that haggis works fine - BUT! My turbo and guide buttons weren’t working.

I have a signal wire ran from the “TURBO” spot on the Turbo panel PCB to the Turbo button on the Datel, same thing for the guide (“XGUILD”). What I neglected to do was run a wire from the “GND” on the Turbo panel PCB to one of the ground spots on the Datel.

Would that be the reason they weren’t working? I had assumed so but I wanted to get some input on whether that would be a likely reason so when I go home tonight, I can hit the ground running and be done with this.

Thanks guys!

You need a Ground wire, yes.

Thanks boss! By the way, it’s awesome how you have every answer to any question in human history…

Not sure if there is a thread dedicated to this kind of stuff so posting here as I’m an absolute noobie!

I’m looking for a UK based company to get some faceplate artwork printed for my freshly modded Hori Fightstick 3. I have created all the artwork, just need to get it made!

Does anyone know of any suppliers please?

Many thanks, will do

nooby question:

How hard is it to change the artwork on the “S” edition of the Tournament stick? Thanks

Same as the non-TE S.
Just that the adhesive on TE S is more sticky to remove.
And that after you remove, there will be residue on the Case which you have to take off.

So how hard?
No hard.

Just Allen Wrench the six screws.
Then peel/lift.

So the washer on my sanwa was loose yesterday. I figured “no prob lol” and opened that thing up to glue it. Now I know. DO NOT ALLOW GLUE TO GET INTO THE SOCKET. DO NOT ALLOW GLUE TO GET INTO THE SOCKET.

Hours later and after much application of acetone and plumber’s grease I now have a non-creaky joystick again. Ah, to have no experience at something…

Does anyone know where I can find buttons similar to the Turbo/Home buttons on the TE? I’ve checked all the stores and threads on here but can’t seem to find them or something similar in size.

So I just received my aluminum bat top that I ordered, last week. After installing it, I quickly came to the conclusion that I would like to go with the “spring mod” that a lot of people suggest to do with these aluminum bat tops (since they’re so heavy). When I ordered the bat top, I also ordered a JLF spring to do this “spring mod”.

However, I’m thinking that I ordered the wrong spring because I’m having issues making all of this work. Was I supposed to order the JLW spring instead? And if so, does it replace the stock JLF spring that came with my TE-S or does it add onto the JLF? I’m asking all of these questions because I currently cannot find the original aluminum bat top thread.

Toggleme suggests the LS-33 Spring to add to stock JLF Spring.
If you have two JLF Spring, then try intertwining them.
