Haha…sounds good. They don’t call it the “Noobie Thread” for nothing, right?
Thanks for the help!

**I tried searching but I could only find Art tutorial for the TE stick.
Is there any tutorials on how to change the art on the Madcatz SE?**
Thanks, I appreciate it.
Is there a thread on this forum where I can put my Modded Arcade stick up for sale? I couldn’t find one so I’m guessing its not allowed but I just thought I’d ask. Thanks in advance
@Esoteric Mist:
There is… theres the Trading Outlet… “BUT” you can only sell/trade if you have been with SRK for at least 6 months, and have at least 50 posts tho. Failure to meet the requirement will result in an infraction or ban.
Okey doke, my turn.
I’m looking to buy a TE stick and mod it with some seimitsu buttons, through a lot of lurking, i found lizardlick, super good place, decent rates, and all that.
A friend of mine uses a TE stick and he loves the sanwa buttons, I messed around with them and I really didn’t like the sensitivity, research showed me that seimitsu has a bit more click in it’s push, and that’s what I want.
Correct, me if I’m wrong, but seimitsu PS-14-GN is perfect for the TE, right?
Anyway, my main question is what’s the quantity.
Like here~ http://www.lizardlick.com/pages/pushbuttons.shtml
We have your button and “add to cart”, where it takes me to how many I want.
If I buy [quantity] 1, will I just get 1 button?
Sorry if the question sounds silly, but I’m a first timer, both on a stick and with stick modding, so I want to cover all areas of suspicion.
@Sukai:
Yes, seimitsu PS-14-GNs do fit the TE… Any button (Sanwa or Seimitsu) will fit the TE as long as they’re size 30mm (for the 8 face buttons) and 24mm (for start and select)… As for your main question… Yes, [quantity 1] gets u 1 button. If u want to replace all 8 buttons u need to buy 8 new buttons… as simple as that… enjoy
PS-14-GN will fit in the TE. FYI, Seimitsus do not click any more or less than the Sanwas. They are generally stiffer and slightly less smooth.
The quantity is per button, so you need to input 8 if you want 8 buttons.
@Sukai :
Yes, both the PS-14-GNs should fit fine in the TE. Just word of caution though, for the button for the X[PS3]/A[Xbox360] button, you’ll have to slide in the nut of the GN under the JLF mounting plate and then put in the button, unlike the other buttons where you can just slide buttons in and then screw the nuts from the bottom.
Yes, if you click one for a quantity, you will only get one button, depending on your style, if you like using all 8 buttons, and buy 8, but if you get plexi for it and only have a 6 button layout, get 6. I usually get 8 either way because it’s nice to have spares around for other modding purposes.
First off on a bit of a newb when it comes to making stuff like this but I have been trying to research around srk.
Im about to start my first custom stick after looking around on here and I was wondering what is the best way to go about making a stick that will work for 360/ps1/2/3 and if possible the dreamcast?
I was thinking about getting a madcatz 360 controller and padhacking that and going with a mc chimp board for the others but I dont know if it supports DC. Or should I use a PS controller and find a converter for the other systems?
Or i not all that what about finding a ps2 tekken stick.
I want something I can use for 3rd strike, mvc2 on DC, and more than likely 360/ps3.
Im just trying to find the easiest and/or cheapest way.
**Time is of the essence on this, okay so the place I wanna get buttons at are out of Violet PS-14-KN Buttons and wont be getting them till late next week.
Now they did offer me violet PS-14-K buttons I have few question about these buttons.
Was the PS-14-K discontinued cause it was faulty?
Is it better off waiting to get the PS-14-KN buttons?**
While I don’t know about the discontinuedness, PS-14-KN are fine to use to be honest.
A lot of people on here use them and from personal experience I can say they’re better than PS-14-Ks since Snap-ins can be a bitch to get out if you want to change them.
Performance-wise though, there’s no difference AFAIK.
Have you tried Akihabara? They have violet ones there though not sure about just the Ks alone.
**Alright thanks for the help, i’m gonna tell the guy i’m just gonna be patient and wait for the buttons to get in.
I can’t wait to mod my stick.
And naw i’m new to all this, This SE stick I bought a few days ago is the first ever stick i’ve ever owned.**
XD Watch out, modding can get addictive.
I’m personally in love with Seimitsu parts :lol:
There is only one issue with screw in buttons when it comes to modding the SE and TE sticks, and it has to do with the LK button and the joystick mounting bracket, as ShinJN points out in detail in this video:
[media=youtube]yTFRh1L2aYM[/media]
Basically you’ll have to grind down a portion of the nut for the LK button, slide it underneath the mounting bracket, and then screw in the button.
Excellent. thanks for that information.
I did the math if I needed to buy 8, it’s still a great price and my rate isn’t bad either.
Generally the same as my goal, Sanwas are way too sensitive for me, I play Arakune and he has a truck load of aerials, so when I was experimenting on my friend’s stick, I found that more so than with other characters, I needed to pay special mind to what position the joy stick is in, and when I push the button, to make sure the right aerial comes out, and “slightly resting my finger” was not being too kind.
My hands are heavy, and I heard seimitsu buttons required a tad bit more force to push.
So I put 2 and 2 together.
Yes, I watched a seimitsu screw in tutorial, I found it, again when I was lurking. That was the video that gave me a bit of a confidence boost about modding it myself. I figured since people say the screw ins are a stronger hold, that’s what I’d go for, I don’t want my newbish modding to make something go lose, so I’d like to apply it in solid. And I did take special note of the A button and how that works.
Thanks for all of your advice.
PS-14-K does perform differently. It uses the smaller Seimitsu switches, which gives them lighter tension and short engage distance. Not as much as a typical Sanwa, but they’re more Sanwa-like than the large-switch Seimitsus like the PS-14-KN.
This is frankly something you get used to. Button press timing is not something Sanwas are bad at. You can accidentally activate PS-14-KNs too, by leaving your fingers on them, it just requires slightly more force. Leaving your fingers haphazardly laying on the buttons is a bad Happ habit that I am too familiar with.
Hi I’ve been trying to make the art work for my stick on GIMP but I’m new photo editing. This Link explains what I want my sick to look like( http://shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=239963 ). Now My main problems are
I cant seem to select the photos once I add them to the layer
I can’t edit the photos eather
Alright so I’m going to try and customize my TE S edition fightstick, and I know where to get the plexiglass panel, the art, and have my art template ready to go, but I don’t know which buttons to order.
I want ones like this so I can put art inside of them
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/brightsons/PICT0176.jpg
Does anybody know which ones on lizard lick to order?
I was thinking it was the Seimitsu PS-14-KN 30mm Pushbutton but it doesn’t say mad catz fightstick compatible under it. the only one that says that is the Sanwa OBSF-30 Pushbutton, but they don’t look like you can add art in the middle of them. Please help me.
