I just had to disassemble my TE S, a couple of weeks ago. I took off the six top screws just like you did, and I DID end up having to use a little force to get the top panel off of there.
Just wanted to let you know.
My stick has a problem with the upper left corner. Sometimes it will work, other times I can slide up and down the left side of the gate and only register left and d.left, or the top of the gate and only get up and u.right. This is a madcatz SE stick, warranty is up.
Am I going to have to buy a new stick piece or could I somehow fix this?
You have to buy a new Joystick.
It is Mad Catz SE after all; the stock Joystick killed itself.
It is known problem.
I was just wondering if the adapter needed to but a bat top on a stock TE stick is a common piece that can be found at a hardware store or if is specific and needs to be bought from a store like lizardlick.
If it can be found elsewhere and someonw knows the size/what it is called it would be a big help.
I ordered a bat top w/o really reading the description and I dont want to spend $5 on shipping for a 50cent part.
After taking apart the joystick, it works with the gate off, but once the gate is put back on u.left starts acting up again. The gate is symmetrical from what I can see by looking… Perhaps filing it down a bit would give it the little leeway it needs?
So it is not the Joystick PCB being scratched by Washer?
How many times have you tested without the Gate?
What if problem comes back in like seventy tries?
With the Gate on, can you control it to always register UP-LEFT?
If you rotate the Gate and put on, will another direction get a problem?
The PCB seems to be unscratched, and though the washer is loose, it’s not moving out of the little groove it goes in nor is it crooked.
I’ve done this three times, it always works better without the gate. With the gate, it only rarely works.
What I did was I filed down the corner of the gate to make it wider. It works now, though I’m still going to put in an order for a Sanwa stick
Hey guys quick question :
I have an LS-32 (not the LS-32-01) and I was wondering, how do you wire it? I’m not sure which one’s for up, down, left, right, and ground for the LS-32. Any help is appreciated.
Also, jdm714, I’m sorry that you have to post this link up again, but can I have the link to those awesome wire coverings that were used in Art’s Venom stick that he had a while back? Thanks!
I just ordered a TE stick and I’m already planning to change the artwork, but the one picture I wanna use has a characters face where the top right button goes and it’s not possible to move the image so her face is out of the way (this is a quick mockup). I was looking at http://www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/ and I noticed they have options for 6-button layouts, so my question is: Would anything bad happen if I just kept 2 buttons disconnected? (like anything could go wrong with the wires or structure integrity of the stick?)
Also, is that site a good place to get this stuff from? (esp. are their prices reasonable?) Or should I just man up and make these myself?
@dyzzy:
Nice Haruhi art by the way… Anywayz nothing wrong with 6 button layout, just make sure u take out the extra wires for the 2 buttons (2 ground wires and 2 signal wires) and u’ll hav no potential problems from the QDs making contact and producing an input. As for the plexi from tek-innovations, i have to say its quality work that u should get if u want plexi. Its reasonable for the fact that its laser cut to perfection and that u don’t have to do it yourself =D …enjoy
Thank you very much jdm714. The wiring should be no different if it’s going to a PSX PCB, should it? I’m thinking more or less it shouldn’t, but I want to be positive. Thanks again!
Same.
If I knew you be doing PSX Controller PCB, I wouldn’t have Mad Catz PCB.
Laugh.
That’s fine, I don’t really mind. I didn’t tell you before-hand, so you assumed it was for a Mad Catz PCB. No worries though, since it’s still the same wiring. Thanks for trying though.
This isn’t a scrub question, it’s not even a question actually but just came in to tell everyone that Modchipman has had my PS3 at least half a year, with no signs of status updates and nothing. They recently had their site closed, with a message indicating that the store is being revamped or some stupid shit like that. Well now that message, and the site in its entirety is gone. They also haven’t picked up the phone since, well the store went down and that message appeared, which stated to give them a call about questions and inquires. It’s not even a matter of timing, I call them 5 times a day at different hours between their advertised hours of 12-6pm midwest time, which I take into account when I call them from the east coast. Didn’t think this warranted it’s own thread since most people are just going to reply by filling the thread with either tried or useless advice, telling everyone else how when they did business that it went smoothly and what a shame it is or they’re just going to say something along the lines of, “Wow, never bought anything from them, what a shame, glad I didn’t.”
I believe so, both 30mm.

Anywho, sorry for the quick questions, hopefully this should be the final one.
Can anyone recommend me good PSX/PS2 to PS3 converters? I’ve seen quite a few that you can just plug in your PSX/PS2 controller into a converter and you can use it on the PS3.
Thanks.
ive had my SE for less than a month and the LP and MP buttons are already malfunctioning, i press buttons pretty hard as is, and now they are stuck down and really unresponsive. is there anything i can do or should i just return it and try to exchange it
