Making Your Stick Pretty: A Custom Stick Art Guide/Tutorial

thx but they dont have white shaft covers…

Those don’t exist anywhere.
Only Custom.

How many times can I install a copy of Windows 7 Home premium? Can’t seem to find any straight answers.

The Up transistor on my stick might be messing up, I don’t know. I have to push just barely past the click now, and it almost feels like there’s a frame or two of lag now.

I guess what I’m asking is :

A - Should I be worried?

B - Is this covered the warranty?

C - If not covered, can I fix it myself?

D - If I can’t fix it myself, who could I pay to fix it?

By the way, I have the first generation Madcatz TE Stick. I got it less than a year, so I think (read: hoping) that my warranty is still a go.

Quick noob question… is there any difference ( besides the look ) between the Original SF4 TE stick and the SF4 TE Round 2 stick? Both are full Sanwa buttons/parts? Thanks.

Probably going to just make a thread if someone doesn’t answer this by tonight. Prove yourself, noobie thread.

Did you swap out the switch giving you trouble, just to troubleshoot? If you don’t have a spare, and if your warranty is void, lizard lick might have them.

I’m not exactly hardware savvy, so I don’t have a spare. I guess I could try it, but I was hoping for a way around that. And I just checked the warranty, and it expired after 90 days :|. Thanks for the site though! I don’t suppose you know where a good transistor swapping tutorial is, do you?

I just wanted to come on here real quick and say to anyone that is on the fence about swapping out a square restrictor gate for an octagonal one: DO IT!

I don’t really use many charge characters. On a square gate, I found it really hard to throw out quarter-circle / half-circle special moves consistently. However, just last week, I swapped out my square gate for an octagonal one and I can tell you that my specials are pretty much coming out on a regular basis now. Every time I play SSFIV now, I’m using my TE S stick, rather than my Madcatz fightpad that I’ve used for so long.

I also wanted to take the time to say “thank you” for all of the individuals who keep tabs on this thread and answering any questions that come along. You folks are life savers!

can anyone give me links or tips for dual modding a first gen ps3 te stick?

is there a way to do it without having to get a cthulhu board? what type of xbox controller should i get and what type of switch?

This guy does a pretty good job of explaining how to take apart your stick. In Part 2 of his video he shows you how to take off the Sanwa PCB, which is probably what is causing you problems (maybe), but yeah, you can check it out, see if it’s aligned properly, if it looks funky or bent, etc.

Your TE is already PS3.
So getting Cthulhu is redundant, because that is PS3.

You just need an Xbox 360 Controller PCB that is Common Ground.

Then if you want to only use one USB cable, then you need a Switch.
A DPDT Switch to control the Data Lines of USB.
Or can use the Imp that Toodles has.

do i have to cut my fightstick for the DPDT switch?

For an switch, yes, either cut and/or drill.

But with the Imp, no.

Thanks for the stuff, but I just checked out my stick, and everything seems to be working fine. I guess either my PS3 was buggy, or my eyes were playing with me. Thank for the stuff though, I appreciate it.

hey guys i stripped one of the bolts on my TE w/allen wrench…it there a way to remove it and replace it? thanks in advance…

Quick question for those with more experience than I: For this PCB where would be the best place to connect the other end of the resistor?

Would it be the pink Common on the left side of the PCB?

are the SE and TE buttons the same size?

So I am swapping out the artwork of my MadCatz TE S fightstick and replacing it with some custom artwork that a friend of mine created for me. I’m obviously needing to order a plexiglass panel to sandwich that artwork to the joystick, but I’m not sure which type of plexiglass would work best with my TE S. I know that there are a lot of TE plexiglasses that are compatible with TE S, but I’m guess that I’m confused by the different styles of plexiglass (Regular covers, extended covers, full panel covers, etc.) I’m having a hard time figuring out what the difference is between the three of them, and I cannot determine if one would be best for my TE S.

Any thoughts?
