@Rubix42:
oh so thats what you meant about buying Art’s plexi… hmm not entirely sure about doing that option but i guess you can try it out if u have the right dimensions or what not but remember those replacement plexi were specifcally designed for, like i already mentioned, the TE, TES, or HRAP… if anything u can make ur wood case with a wood panel and then additionally cut out ur own plexi to cover said wood panel if you want to put artwork and such on it… might be easier to build it within ur own dimensions (meaning you size everything to what u desire) vs build a custom around the plexi panel replacements… just my 2 cents
after being burned with MadCatz FightPad, I was wondering if the Tournament Edition sticks for the PS3 synch up with USB as well.
I’m just wondering if I drop 150 euros for the stick, I’d risk the stick stop communicating with the USB receiver, like it happened with my FightPad
My TE is making squeaking sounds whenever i move the stick down right. At first i didn’t mind it because the input still came out, but now the stick has somehow become stiff. Anyone have a any clue what might have caused this? Thanks.
Washer probably got out of place.
I been reading a lot of reports of the Washer unseating from JLF of Mad Catz TE.
No one ever has this problem with a JLF that is not from TE.
Weird.
But JLF in TE does seem to always have unnecessary amounts of silicone grease.
Too much grease can cause for the Spring Holder to grab the Washer.
Open up TE and see what is problem.
I say get the SE, never mind the art, paint the metal with paint, and if a part breaks, go to arcadeshop.de for replacements.
If you want to spend the money and photoshop time you can get vinyl printed from mamemarquees.com.
I have an HD TV in my room that I use to play games, I finally brought my PS2 over to play some games on it expecting some lag. I play 3s to get pretty much unplayable lag, no links and fucked combos but anyway. Is there anyway to change settings to make it not do that? Also if I put SSF4 on here would it lag as well on a ps3?
Can anyone direct me to a thread to make my octo gate smaller? I hear you can use tape, how exactly does that work?
will still lag a bit , but not as bad as the ps2… the cause of the lag is the tv’s converting the output from whatever the tv’s native resolution is.
hdtv native resolution is not the 480 your putting out of the ps2…
there are some ways to make it better though, there a thread about it somewhere.

I have a Madcatz TE: round 2 for 360, and i am new to sticks in general. Im trying to learn more about modding and such, and thus far have only done the simplest of simple tasks.
Having said that, im trying to find the best way to mod my stick to make it functional for Xbox 360, ps2/3, wii, and dreamcast primarily. SO, i am pretty sure i am already on the right track, but could use some personal interaction and direction.
My plan is to get a Multi console Cthulhu board from toodles, and then get converters for ps3 and dreamcast individually. I have heard that pelican is good for ps3 and innovation dream connect 2 is good for dreamcast, but i am having a hell of a time trying to find one. there are a couple in the 40-50 dollar range on ebay right now.
is this the best way to go? any advice? very much a beginner here.
thanks in advance
quick question: I just got my sanwa JLF today, i took out the pcb and switches, i showed my sis (who ordered the stuff for me) and she was able to dislocate the washer.
Should I glue that washer down to avoid that pcb scratching issue the SE has? or is this happening because I don’t have the switches?
You don’t need to glue.
But there should be small amount of grease to hold Washer in place.
Allright, I went ahead and bought the SE. Pretty happy with it now :).
I found the artwork on a TE template but haven’t gotten around to getting it converted (asked already in the art thread). It’s the KOF02 pink one in the sticky, which should fit nicely with the pink/blue buttons I think. My photoshop skills are terrible so I’ll just hope for the best and see if someone converts it for me <3.
This is what I ended up doing. The money for the specially sized 30mm forstner bit was holding me back from doing my own. Art’s site charges about the cost of the bit, but now I can make multiple tops I guess. Just a lot of money to spend for one drill bit. I should be posting pics of my finished work in the next week or so.
No need to get a PS3 adapter, just worry about the Dreamcast converter if u want the DC support for your stick… All Cthulhus from Toodles has PS3/PC compatibility so you’re already adding that function to ur stick when you mod it… since u also plan to get a MC Cthulhu (MC = Multi Console) you’ll also cover PS2 and Gamecube/Wii compatibility since thats what u want… u’ll need to make detachable cables that connect to a RJ45 connection and install that onto ur TE for those systems since they don’t use USB… I’ll refer you to rtdzign’s thread which you can read up on to understand all that jazz… http://www.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?p=8371462#post8371462 … also at the end of the first post is a link to a RJ45 tutorial for making cables and such… now thats a lot of reading but it helps… enjoy
after putting a hella good hours in drilling holes thru wood and plexi, i’ve come to realize these happ microswitches are rather hard to get into he button slot… Is there some special way of attaching them, or am i puting them in the way it is? Because I’m afraid of snapping the clips off while trying to get the microswitchs in.
You can detach the Microswitches.
Laugh.
Do the Seimitsu PS-14-G’s have the same resistance/feel as PS-14-KN’s?
To me, the resistance is the same on both, but the PS-14-G does feel slightly different, only because the plunger is completely flat.
I’ve always wondered the same. I’ve got tons of Sanwa’s and a set of clear PS-14-KN’s, but never tried the G’s.
jdm will know.
