could either be microswitch is broken, or the harness is not tight enough
I checked the harness and pushed it on applying a good amount of pressure. I tried to see if that corrected it and nope. My gamestop has a SE for $40. I’m wondering if picking that up and dropping my buttons and stick would be my best bet at this point.
I was wondering how much more resistance Seimitsu buttons offer compared to Sanwa. I’m new to arcade sticks and recently bought a Mad Catz SFIV TE. For me the buttons feel like they are broken because they are so loose and sensitive and feel like they go off just by a small breeze of air going over them. I like to get some feedback/clicking from a button. Now I’m wondering if Seimitsu buttons are a good alternative or if they are still too sensitive. Are there any other buttons available that require you to actually press them. For comparison: I really like the Xbox360 controller ABXY buttons because I actually feel it when I press a button.
@ Korjyan :
If you don’t like the feel of the Sanwas, the Seimistu buttons are for you. They do have more resistance than that of the Sanwas, and Seimistus IMO feel like a inbetween of Sanwas and Happ buttons, and Seimistus kinda feel like the buttons on the Xbox 360 Pad. Other buttons that have more “feedback” can be Suzo Happ buttons, the buttons that are found in American Arcade cabinets.
yes, the semitsu buttons are too stiff, all of them, the PS-14N sounds like it have a microswitch, its taller than OBSF from sanwa, but I prefer the sanwa buttons, they are soo sofisticated and soft, indeed I prefer the semitsu sticks, like the LS-56 and LS-32.
I got a Hori Soul Calibur II stick.
I looked at some converter, but I’m not sure if I’m getting a good deal. Is there any PS2-to-PS3 converter that’ll work in both PS2 and PS3 games?
Is it possible to replace the square gate on the Mad Catz SE with this circle one? http://www.lizardlickamusements.com/images/for_sale/joysticks/sanwa_gt0.jpg The overall shape of the gate (not just the hole where the stick goes) looks different than the square gates i’ve seen in pictures of the insides of the SE.
Cannot.
Because that is made for JLW, not JLF.
And the Mad Catz Joystick is copy of a JLF.
ah poop. do circle gates for JLFs exist? Lizard Lick doesnt seem to have one.
Does not exist.
That is why I gave you a link to SRK Thread.
I would link you to a Store if there exists, right?
oh didn’t see the edit. my bad. i think i’ll settle for the octagon gate on lizardlick for $5. thanks though.
Hi everyone, quick question. I’ve had a original tournament edition stick for about 4 months now and am facing some problems. The back button is completely defunct, and sometimes the stick becomes half dead and won’t register multiple button presses.
My question is, should I just call mad catz and hope for warranty replacement or risk messing it up even more by opening it up. How good is mad catz’s customer service?
Thanks in advance.
@tmfan sounds like 1 of 2 things 1) the wiring of the buttons is bad or 2) (hope its not his one) the pcb is going bad. i would say if your really not comfortable messing with it call madcatz and see if the warranty is still good. otherwise open her up and check the cables to make sure nothings loose.
Get in touch with MadCatz, I’d say. Unless you’re being really rough on your stick, throwing it down the stairs n’shit, the wires probably didn’t get disconnected. The way you say it doesn’t register multiple button presses also makes it sound like the PCB is starting to go. My SE is starting to act the same way. If you haven’t opened up the stick yet, Get in touch with MadCatz. I think their warranty is only 90 days, but it can’t hurt to ask.
I asked this question in the T6 HRAP-EX thread, but it fell off the frontpage and I didn’t want to bump up a dying thread again, so…
I saw it, I just didn’t really want to answer it.
I typed out a response, but did not Post.
So here:
Solid.
Regular.
Awesome, thank you.
Hey can anyone tell how to put a Bat top on my madcatz SE cause I can’t figure it out?
great, thanks a lot for the post!
are there any existing tutorials for installing the chimp into a ps3 SE? or are the differences between the two installations minor?
Hey guys, I am not sure if this is the place to ask this but…
I recently purchased a Tatsu vs Cap arcade stick and upon recieving it…well I found that the Y axis of the stick was inverted (up makes Jun the Swan crouch and down makes her jump, what the fuck?).
I was just wondering if there was any information on how to fix a problem such as that.
Sorry for bothering you all!
All you have to do is buy a small adapter to make the stick compatible. Now you have the SE stick with the stock parts correct? or have you replaced your stick? anyways Lizard Lick’s has an adapter for $.50 here is the link to the Joysticks page:
http://www.lizardlick.com/pages/joysticks.shtml The adapter is near the bottom its called “Sanwa Joystick Adapter” I think this should do it.
