Absolute Question and Answer Thread (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

Hi guys I need help. I have a hori ex-se fight stick for the xbox 360. I recently purchased a sanwa stick from lizard. I got this one : Sanwa JLF-TP-8T Ball Handle Joystick, 4 & 8-Way Adjustable. I’m thinking it would be a easy replacement but i guessed wrong. I just wanna replace the seimitsu stick with my new sanwa stick. Any help/instruction will be appreciated. Thank you very much

Sanwa JLF-TM-8 from Lizard Lick.

Just install like how your Seimitsu LS-32 is (solder).
Or install by using Quick Disconnects on wires and connecting to Microswitch.

Oh, you want to install the JLF-TP-8 you have now?
And not buy a JLF-TM-8?

Cut the Traces of the TP-MA (Microswitch PCB Assembly) to disrupt the Ground.

Or desolder off the PCB and take the four Microswitches.
Dispose of PCB.

Solder the wires directly to Microswitches.

I have no idea what that means. I’m sorry I am really newbie with all the term. I can show you pictures of the wires and core which could help out?

A couple of quick questions here

my wireless controllers never completely turn off on both my custom stick and pads, the light around the guide button is always lit and drains the battery overnight. anyone have the same problem?

Also white dust/powder keeps coming out of my Seimitsu LS-32 joystick, its about 6 months old and the dust covers the bottom Acrylic Panel. anyone know whats the issues?

Take the batteries out.

Just a random question, is there any PS2 twin sticks besides the Blaze one?

kyle has a dreamcast version, i think he’s selling it too

the only other one I can think of is the X-Arcade twin stick.

Mkay thanks a lot rtdzign.

Joystick; desolder wires from Seimitsu Joystick Microswitches.
Cut Traces on Sanwa JLF PCB.
Solder wires back on.

Solder directly to Microswitches, either under PCB or there.

You can desolder the Microswitches from TP-MA.
Dispose of the PCB and just use the Microswitches.

You can replace the whole TP-MA with four individual Microswitches.
But why do that?

Or you can find a Sanwa JLF-TM-8.
Solder to it like the Seimitsu, or use Quick Disconnects.

I need a new 360 stick as I want to get into SSF4.

which stick is more ergonomic, reliable and easy to modify, the Super SF4 TE or the HRAP EX SE? Do you still have to take the bottom off to get to get at the CP on the more recent HRAPs and does it use QDs?

HRAP EX SE opens from top.
Also has Quick Disconnect on Buttons.
PCB is non-Common Ground, and wires soldered to Joystick.

But the above is not same for all recent HRAP.

Sweet. I’ll pick it up. Only real downside is the soldered stick

I hears HRAP >>> HSF3; just the buttons thing right?

but for such a price difference $100 to $30… is the HSF3 a worthwhile investment?

the fs3

first u open the plate. then u desolder the buttons. then u grind the holes. the joystick, ah the joystick, u will have to maul a jlf to get it in there, cutting the base of the shaft as well as grinding the baseplate

the hrap se or sa, has none of that. open the control panel, swap the buttons, DONE!

Quick question that i’m super curious about. Is it possible to have a gamecube controller work for PS3? Any converters or mods?

I know this has probably been asked a million times, but how should I go about wiring ground?

I’m building a custom PSX stick this week, and the plan is to wire all the buttons and stick to the hacked pad, and then wire one of the buttons to ground on the pcb, and daisy chain it to all other buttons, and eventually the stick.

Now a lot of diagram I see have two seperate wiring to the pcb (like a seperate one for the joystick). Is there any reason for this? Should I do this, or can I just stick with my plan and daisychain everything, including stick, to one point on the pcb? I’d rather not do anymore difficult soldering than I have to.

Also, does it matter where I wire ground to? Like, will any of the directional keys do, or does it have to be a shoulder button ground spot?

It’s just to be cool.
You don’t have to.

For organizational purpose.

Use as many, where ever you want.

wut? i didnt get that?

not that im aware of a gc to usb convertor in existence…

What button sizes are the HFS3? Saw some videos and figured the stiff looking buttons will hinder play in longer sessions and stuff.

If i orer some buttons from lizard lick is always a pack of 8 per colour? I can’t do 4 yellows and 4 blacks for example?

hacksparrow talking about this.
