So I’ve decided to dual mod a Brawlstick with the Chimp SMD. Considering this model has a female USB jack installed, where should I place the wires for the main PCB’s USB points on the Chimp?
You should check out the welcome sheet that comes with the ChimpSMD. There’s a link to it in PDF form in the first post of the Chimp thread, and I think it will answer that question.
Aha, I see now. Thanks for that.
I just bought this thing a few weeks ago and already the PS Home button, Start, Select, and Turbo are not working, this is bullshit. I thought Madcatz actually started making quality products but I guess they are still a shit company making crappy products.
Did you turn the stick on lock mode?
No, that was the first thing I thought about when it wasn’t working. I turned off my ps3 made sure everything was plugged in and not on lock mode and still nothing from the whole top section. All the actual fighting buttons and stick work fine just not that top section. Is there any kind of warranty for these? I got it from Gamestop so I don’t want to go opening it up just yet. Any suggestions?
Does any one know when that sale for the UMvC3 fightstick on amazon is going to end?
Does anyone have a solution for Component to HDMI?
I found that but I am not entirely sure if it induces lag, there is a review that says it does, but others that say they use it for gaming… Also would I be able to plug composite cables into something like this (like just plugging the yellow into one of the three video inputs)
I’m almost positive the answer is no, but I figured I would put it out anyway…
Is it possible to dual-mod the headphone jack on a Madcatz 360 TE so that it can play audio on both systems?
Thanks in advance.
hey there i’m an arcade stick newbie and i recently got my first one a hori ex-se for xbox 360. i bought it used however and i am a bit worried the joystick is already broken. it’s semitsu i understand but the joystick seems to easily pop out of the gate whenever i press a direction with minimal force. also i can pull the joystick up and it pops out a bit as well. did i purchase a beat up broken stick or is this just how the semitsu joysticks are?
That problem is only with Seimitsu LS-32 joysticks, the rest do not do this.
I have no idea why they’re so popular… but that’s just me.
Luckily you can replace them very easily with another Seimitsu joystick or a Sanwa JLF. If sticking with Seimitsu I’d recommend an LS-55 or an LS-40. For a stiffer feel go with the LS-56. Avoid the LS-33 unless you want a very loose joystick with a short shaft. Do not go for a model with the prefix ‘-01’ on the end as you do not need the PCB, your stick should have come with 8 quick disconnects for easy microswitch connection.
As far as I know the LS-58-01 only comes with a PCB option.
Hey guys I did a search and couldn’t find any resources to answer my question. I apologize if this has bee posted somewhere else, if so please post a link for me.
I recently bought a Hori Umvc3 stick but it comes stock with a square gate. I am seriously considering installing an octagonal gate but haven’t seen any videos or guides on how to do that. Is it fairly simple to do on this stick? I know I’ll have to open the stick from the bottom, is it as simple as opening it, popping out the square gate and putting the other in? I’m a complete noob to modding. If anyone could help me that would b great!
Yep.
Same idea as this video:
thanks for the quick reply, is this what the joystick was like brand new or does the ls-32 develop this problem from normal wear and tear? also that’s the 2nd mention i’ve seen of the ls-40 just from casually browsing a few threads on here so I think i’ll look at that for a replacement. is there a common consensus of what the best sanwa stick might be? my favorite style of games are fighters like mortal kombat, ssf2t; shooters like 1941, ikaruga & final fight/a vs p style stuff.
thanks in advance!
What they are like new.
that’s ridiculous why would anyone ever purchase one of these things let alone think it was good? this is my first real arcade stick and i knew instantly something wasn’t right. i read nothing but 5 star reviews all over the place wish i would have found these forums first.
shrugs
It’s just how some people like them. Each to their own and all that… but that is how LS-32’s are meant to be.
i’m just kinda curious what the justification for liking this kinda joystick is. is it better for pulling off certain moves with certain characters or something? does the extra little bump give players a better feel or something? i’m wondering how it can be seen as anything other than a nuisance really, i understand to each his own but saying you like something that literally feels broken…
