I was thinking about making a case ENTIRELY out of plexiglas via molding it. Would this be a bad Idea? I was thinking about two layers for the entire structure (so an inner and outer case stuck together with adhesive of some sort). I’m pretty bad with wood working and my current project is going downhill pretty fast.
Thanks, that did the trick.
so im about to venture into building my first stick, ive asked in the wood working thread, but it seemed like the wrong place…
on slagcoin, they have the different layouts, and they have multiple sizes of them. what is a good accurate size to print out? 92 dpi? 100 dpi? i’d like to be as accurate as the drawing says, as far as measurements go
So for awhile now I’ve been interested in duel modding one of my 360 TE sticks to play on my PS3 but I can’t figure out how to go about doing so. Can anyone explain or show me a tutorial on how to install a
Toodles Cthulhu PC/PS3 Board into my stick? From what I’ve read this board is solderless and possibly as simple as it will get, as a first time modder any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
For Dual Modding, you will have to solder.
dual modding is not solderless, can you solder22 or above gauge wire? this mod is not for a first time modder
Well if mxdcomplex does the Solderless Tricks that ShinJN showed on video, then only soldering do is the USB and +5V.
The video.

So I’m gonna be hooking up a Madcatz PS3 PCB for my new fight stick case that I got, and instead of just lazily wiring the cord through one of the 4 holes in the back I bought a Neutrik adapter since I was told that’s what I would need to “clean it up” a bit like I wanted. But what cord am I supposed to use? My PCB is being re-wired atm, so I tried out a normal USB cable I had lying around, and I don’t have a plug to fit one end. This is the adapter I bought from Lizard Lick: http://www.lizardlick.com/images/nausb_w_b.jpg
So I’m wondering how exactly I’m supposed to use this? I probably should’ve asked before I bought the adapter, but oh well…
Thanks for the responses hacksparrow and jdm714, looks like soldering will be the best option for the mod. With that said can either of you or anyone else point out a tutorial to me that puts how to go about doing so for beginners? Also what kind of board, equipment, etc. should I be using?
I’m thinking about purchasing my first stick, and I just wanted to get some opinions on what would be the most cost-effective route to go. I’m pretty much looking at either an SE or TE for 360, I’ve been reading about how easy it is to install better parts on the SE, but as far as I can tell the TE comes with those parts out of the box albeit at a substantially larger initial price. I’d also like to get it dual-modded, is either of these sticks more problematic than the other for making this happen? About how much does a dual mod job cost if I were to have someone else do it? I have no experience with soldering and I’d really rather not toast my hypothetical stick.
What’s the best wire to use when you’re modding? I’m looking for 22 AWG but, I’m not sure if there is anything more specific I should be looking for such as tinned/top coated or stranded/solid, voltage, heat rating, etc.
I don’t know what does and doesn’t matter when you’re modding and soldering.
Edit: and where do I get it?
This is Toodles instructions step by step on how to assemble a cthulhu kit if u wanna get it cheaper and diy http://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_Assemble_a_Cthulhu_PCB/… or u can buy it assembled for more $$ from places like Lizardlick or Gamingnow… for wut u need, u’ll need a soldering iron and solder and maybe a wet sponge to clean the iron… for instructions on “how to solder” go to youtube (ur best guide of all)… when u install ur cthulhu i suggest reading up on how to do so… pretty easy once u know wut connects to where but lots of reading tho… check out rtdzign’s thread http://www.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?p=8371462#post8371462… good luck
Get a TE… its the easiest and better choice outta the 2 plus the retail price for them are now affordable… if u look hard enuff u can find one for around 100 now… for ur dual-mod question both can be dual-modded with relative ease once u read up on what to do and such (look above this response ^)… as for hiring som1… it all depends… depending on who u ask, u’ll get a different price range i guess for their services… if u really want to hire some1 shop around until u find som1 that fits ur price range… enjoy
In my opinion, theres really no “best wire” its all to preference… people generally use 22-24 awg wire but if u wanna use something else go for it… same with the type of wire: tinned/top coated~doesn’t really matter, stranded is easy to work with but may snap off depending on where u put it ~ w/ stranded u dont hav to worry about that but (in my opinion again) its kinda annoying to deal with if ur pushin it into tiny holes as it tends to split apart due to the tiny strands unraveling, voltage, heat, yadayada not really too important i guess (if im wrong som1 will correct me lol)… but ya as for where u can get it, u hav many options… if u hav a Radioshack they got em or if u wanna buy online u can either get it on ebay or google it… hav fun
I asked this awhile back in a different thread but got no answer.
does anyone know if the lever selection on this stick listed as “new” is a myoungshin fanta or taeyoung? I can’t read korean.

I’m looking for a Custom El Fuerte Art for my new TE fightstick and I wanted my name on it and it to be sick. “BTrumpz” anyone intrested?
So I’m thinking about dual-modding my TE.
However, I have zero experience under the hood of electronic gadgetry of any kind and I’m kind of worried about turning my stick into a very expensive paperweight. Should I get somebody to do this for me or would this be something I can do myself with the help of a couple tuts?
Well if u want the easier route just hire somone… But if ur “willing” enuff to give it a shot you can learn how to do it urself, all u need is some patience, know-how (lots of reading to do), and a little soldering experience… if u r taking the diy approach (i am assuming ur TE is a 360 ver) i’ll refer you to Toodles’ cthulhu/chimp thread: http://www.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=162026 … where u can read up on how to assemble a cthulhu and how to connect it with ur 360 pcb and such… as for soldering experience, i suggest u go on youtube and watch all the “how-to” soldering videos until ur sick of it b’cuz u kno the process by then and then (b4 ur actually start working on the target boards) get some spare wire and a breadboard (u can get em at places like Radioshack and such) and practice on those until u feel comfortable with doing it on the real thing… just my 2 cents… enjoy
Will definately give that a look, I’d like to do this myself. Thanks.
Is there any tutorial (vid or thread, but it’s got to have pictures) for fucking retards that you’d recommend? I’m taking a look at some of the stuff in the thread you linked me, just wondering if there’s anything else out there I can make use of (specifically for use of the ChImp board).
Thanks in advance. I really want to do this, but it’s easy to see how a novice such as myself can be intimidated by this process.
EDIT: BTW, will my headset still work (for the 360) when I do this.
If u r assembling a ChImp kit u can follow the link i gave ya on Toodles’ thread “How to assemble the Cthulhu kit” on the first post, the ChImp is built similar to the Cthulhu (since they do basically the same thing) so assembly is also similar. Just read the tut (w/ pictures) step by step (keep in mind as well that things will look different but regardless its simple enuff). From there u can use this picture to wire up ur ChImp: http://img263.yfrog.com/img263/7899/chimpmadcatz.png …for ur question about the headset: yes, it will still work for 360 but not for PS3… hopefully that clears it up a little more… have fun
Still need help.
