Absolute Question and Answer Thread (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

You can find some that will work.
Others have found connectors that they used.

That isn’t a common ground PCB. You willw ant Mad Catz’s Game Stop Controller and not PDP’s Game stop controller. Avoid After Glow Pads unless you are a pro at wiring/ soldering and don’t mind common ground.

On that note, only common ground PCBs work with Toodle’s MC Cthulhu for Dual mods.

those will be fine

Thank you, maybe I’ll have some luck with the quick disconnects I mentioned in a earlier post.

In the Mayflash Thread, others have used Quick Disconnects on those too.
Connecting to the Main PCB that you are asking.

It is very not good though.
You have to make sure the Quick Disconnects do not touch each other.

Hey, all, first time post! Whee!

So, I’m building a stick from scratch, and I’d like to ask a few questions on if I’m doing the right stuff or not since this is also my first stick ever, haha.

Here’s a picture of the case, which is the only thing that is (semi) done right now:

The dimensions are 16in wide x 10in deep x 4in tall (3in tall in the front). Made entirely out of stainless steel, painted black and the edges are all rounded off. I’m going to be putting a (most likely) plywood bottom on it with thin felt stuck on. Maybe find some rubber screw-in footies if I can. I’m going to be putting a Cthulhu board in for the dual.

My questions are:
I really like microswitches, and the sound they make. I’m using the PDP FightPad right now, so I’m really used to the “clack-clack-click” and I dig it. I’m thinking of getting a Sanwa stick and Seimitsu buttons: do these have the “click” sound/feel to them? If not, what do you guys recommend?

How big exactly do I need to drill holes for Seimitsu 30mm(GNC) and 24mm(DNC) (the two kinds of buttons I’m looking at)? Stainless steel is kinda unforgiving if you mess up the measurements…

Where do you guys recommend I put the Start/Select/Home buttons? Mind, I’m more than likely going to store the USB cord back there and I don’t want the back to get too cramped together.

I can add a list of all the parts I’m going to order if that’d be helpful for giving me tips.

I’m open to any and all suggestions since I haven’t ordered anything yet.

Joystick click, Buttons do not click.

Sanwa OBS-30A or OBS-30B for click Buttons.
Sanwa OBS-24A or OBS-24B for the click Buttons.
Only place to buy the Buttons at is AkihabaraShop.jp site.

The holes are 30mm and 24mm.
But I guess that is not exact enough?

Well, just mainly wondering if the openings needed to be 30/24mm or if that was the size of the buttons. So, okay, coolness. I didn’t wanna start drilling without knowing if I was drilling to big or something, haha

Can anyone recommend a reliable place to buy or order scotchloks? Thanks.

I’m planning on having artwork printed for an SE stick and just wanted to get some clarification, what DPI do I need to set it to or can somebody tell me the dimensions (width, height) to print it out at? I don’t want to go there, print it out, be excited, and then go to stick it on only to realize it’s the wrong size. Thanks!

100% of the Template (No Scale) at 300 DPI.

Thank you! So it’s okay that the width is at 11.32 and height is 7.907? What has me confused is a youtube video that said something about “12 x 8 1/2” and it just kinda threw me off.

If you used the cool Template with the more accurate holes.
And print all the way to the Bleed Area, then the actual art (including bleed) is 11 inch x 7.6 inch.

This means the next smallest size paper to use in North America is Legal Size Paper.
Which is 14 inch x 8.5 inch in landscape.

Gotcha. Thank you for your help!

But the real art area that gets used, fits on the standard Letter Size Paper.
Which is 11 inch x 8.5 inch in landscape.

So you can use Letter also.
There is plenty space for the bleed.
Even though the bleed will be cut a little, depending on how little margin the printer can print.

I see. I was planning on going to Fed Ex Office tomorrow to get it printed and laminated and was told that it’s best to use a thicker card stock style paper?

Enjoy trying to cut through the laminate and the thick paper.
Laugh.

You heard incorrect information.

Okay yeah my bad, not CARD STOCK thickness. The video just says “Thicker stock paper, possibly matte paper” but that’s still a little vague. I don’t want to go in there and have them do all the work for me and f&*% my shit up and waste time which is why I wanted to know which kind of paper to ask for in specific. So would you suggest legal size or letter size? I don’t mind extra cutting.

Is there any way I can fix a stuck button on a Hori VX. The black piece on the button won’t snap back on =[

How did you even break that?
Unless you just ripped off the PCB from Buttons.

I think that is what you mean.

Lets just say I got a little salty and punched my arcade stick like an idiot lol
