Installing the PiiWee.

Do Sanwa SW-68 micro switches fit inside a Seimitsu PS-14-D button? Thanks

Yes.

Solid. I’ll get right on that.

Late reply, but I might look into this. Thanks again Zeth. I might try to work out a custom Blazblue + Street Fighter layout then. (I want something that will work well with 4 button fighters but still play with 6 buttons as well.)

It sounds like it is easy to get a plexi for this if blklightning does custom panels and can match the plexi to the panel.

[S]But how hard would it be to get art print out for something like a custom button or MK button layout? How would I make a template for it?[/S]

EDIT: I checked out blklightning’s site, he has some amazing tutorials for making your own templates. I was just wondering though, what’s the best way to measure the button layout? Just a tape measurer?

Depends on the layout that you want to go with. http://slagcoin.com/joystick/layout.html has most of the standard layouts measurements on this page.

I’ve seen transparent balltops somewhere… not bubbletops…

I forget where though. Can somebody point me?

butteroj.

But they are 38mm, instead of standard 35mm.
Also, he has been absent in his Custom Balltop Thread.

There are some China Balltops that are no bubbles.

Hi. Im sorry if this has already been covered somewhere, but i did some searching on this website and also google and could not find the exact information im looking for. This seemed the most appropriate thread.

Ive been using the Madcatz SE stick for over a month now. ive been ready to swap out the stick for a bit now, but im a bit confused on how the stock SE stick feels in comparison to sanwa and seimitsu. from all the searching ive done, all ive been able to gather is that the stock madcatz stick really sucks! Also that it is always referred to as a JLF clone and the “JLFake”. This has left me the impression that people think it feels just like the JLF, but lower quality. Yet from reading the descriptions how Sanwa and Seimitsu feels, it somewhat matches what people say about the Seimitsu. it has a bit of a stiff / clicky feel to it. is this really how the JLF feels and the Seimitsus are just even stiffer? I know the best thing to do is just order several sticks and see what i like best, but whichever stick i order im going to be using for a long while. It would really help me to have someone shed some light on this for me. I figure i have all the time to ask this because of my problem below.

Another problem. Ordering parts to my mod my stick feels so… inaccessible. Its giving me a huge feeling of regret getting the madcatz SE. All the stores i look at , lizard lick, paradisearcadeshop, focus attack, so much stuff is out of stock. Is this normal? I wanted to try the LS-56 with octogate, but paradise arcade does not offer the correct mounting plate for me. i also ordered some buttons from them and it took over half a month to get to California. For lizard lick all there stuff is out of stock. For focus attack, alot of their joysticks are out of stock too. They do not have seimitsu sticks like LS-32 , LS-40, LS-56. So I thought i would try the LS-58, as its my only choice. Comes with the correct mounting plate, but they do not have the octogate. Neither does paradise arcade. I read that the 56/58 is very bad for fighters while using the square gate. I am very frustrated. Are there any other american stores i can look at? Or am i going to be SOL stuck using the madcatz joystick for a long time?

Sorry for the long post. I had a lot to say.

Thanks again, Zeth. I downloaded some of the examples he has and will play around with them and see what I come up with.

What I had in mind though is something like this.

Button Example

I know that’s just the MK layout, but take a look at the bottom four buttons. I wanted something like that, that would work well with fighters that use 3 attack buttons plus a special button. (Blazblue, Arcana Heart, etc.)

That way, I have the 3 attack buttons plus a special button as well. The problem with that, is I have four other buttons to use too and I can’t figure out where to put them so I can play 6 button fighters (Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, etc.) without any problems.

Maybe I should just move one button down and stick with the Viewlix layout for the other 7 buttons? It’s not worth replacing a whole panel just for one button though.

A 4 button + 6 button FG arcade stick might nice to have though, if it all works out.

So does anyone know what the SFxTK Pro stick looks like on the inside that has pix? Also do they have the 6 top panel screws to access the buttons and PCB?

That layout might be a little to close to the stick for comfort. And the top button looks pretty much unusable. You could always run something like this.

regular mk layout and just have the unnecessary for fighting games outside two button next to the start and select.

or you can squash it together and tack the last two on the end of the mk layout.

Oh, and GroovyGameGear.

dosen’t Sugar_Kane also make balltops?

He doesn’t seem to be selling anything at the moment.
Hiatus longer than butteroj.

He called it quits iirc. got me a blue swirl that came out super nice.

We have a winner!

Thanks Zeth. I’ll go for something like that if I can. It sounds easy to make an art template too. You just have to match the dimensions in Photoshop to your stick I think? If it lets you measure things out on Photoshop in inches or centimeters.

I know there are option to change the dimensions from pixels to inches and centimeters, not sure where since I mainly use GIMP though.

If you are going with Lightning label customs you can get more info here: http://thegamesurgeons.com/Custom%20Panel%20Order%20Form.html

you can contact blklightning21 on here or through his email and he will help you through the process and let you know what’s up.

Maybe the TimStuff Layout is too slanted for him.
Laugh.
