Absolute Question and Answer Thread (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

Alright guys, question. I’m looking at getting some Bottom Plexi + Art from Arthong and I’m wondering how do you install the bottom plexi? Is there more to it than just unscrewing the 4 foots on the bottom and then installing the Plexi? Thanks for the help in advance.

^ nope thats all there is to it… enjoy

So, my friend bought a TE stick the other day and oddly enough:

his 360 TE stick headset jacked is screwed up. That’s basically the jist of it, the TE stick;s headset jack is like…broken. The TE stick itself is absolutely fine except that.

Is there like a part replacement for it or whatnot? solutions? or is he screwed over?

So when printing out your artwork at Kinkos, what’s the best paper to use ?
It’s for my SE fightstick btw.

I know you ask them to print actual size (no scaling) on Card Stock paper, and to laminate after. Is there a specific paper to use ? Like 30lb card stock or 80lb card stock ? What’s the difference between them anyways?
I always read how people use a different type of card stock. Which one is recommended?

Also, while saving your artwork on photoshop, I heard it’s better to save as a .PDF file instead of .PSD (Some people at Kinkos might not know how to work with PS)
Anyways, all I do is save as .PDF and that’s all ? I don’t have to check any other special options do I ?

Use cardstock, heavy-duty, which means use the 80lb cardstock

As for saving PSDs to PDFs, don’t do it. Kinko’s employees should know the basics on printing in Photoshop. Just make sure you tell them to print full size, and NOT scale to fit. Also, hide the unwanted layers from the PSD files before printing. Make sure you hide the cut-outs from the PSD before printing, but make sure you don’t save it afterwards.

Hope this helps.

Still having this problem. :frowning:

Thanks for this. Heading to Kinkos right now.

0_o is this for a JLF? just push in 2 tabs at a time, turn 90 degrees and push in 2 tabs again… repeat until they pop off. If that doesn’t work get one of 'em flathead screwdrivers and wedge it in btwn. the gate and microswitch near the tab area and just wiggle em out for all da tabs.

Hey guys, sorry to bother you guys again, but I’m wondering what’s the best way to take out the 24mm start/back buttons on a TE without voiding the warranty? It’s really a b**ch just reaching for them even with a small screw driver.

^ i think that statement already is quite contradictory there =D if ur planning to open the TE up (or already have) for button swaps and what not i believe ur warranty has already been voided and gone poof (unless im mistaken of course, some1 correct me if i am wrong)… with that said if ur 24mm buttons are giving u trouble on removal the easiest way that i can think of (my opinion of course, mind u doing so further voids ur warranty? if thats even the right thing to say since its already open lol) is to disassemble the whole thing in order to have more finger room to mess with them tiny tabs u cud barely reach already… again this voids your warranty…in the end its ur choice if u want the Madcatz support versus going free reign and customize… if u do choose to customize i suggest u replace em 24mm buttons with the ones that are threaded and have a nut (makes life easier ^_^) or if u still wanna stick w/ snap-in types make sure u position em ideally for later maintenance… hope that helps… enjoy

I’m new here. what website(s) you guys use to order quality parts(SF4-SE Stick) That can be ship to USA.

I’ve got a pretty long / complex (?) question for anyone who can help me out. I’ve never modded a stick before, so please keep this in mind…

The general situation :
Basically I have a Hori FS3 and a MvC Tournament Edition stick which I just recently bought. I love the MvC TE stick and buttons, but (for my personal opinion) I began to feel that the controller itself is just too big / heavy. I know many people don’t have a problem with this, but I can’t help but to want to go back to a smaller controller similar to the Hori FS3. I was thinking of returning the stick and buying new parts for modding my FS3, but I already lost the receipt for the MvC stick…

The actual question :
I am wondering how difficult it would be to take everything (board, wires and all) from the MvC TE stick and transplant it into my Hori FS3… My Hori FS3 stick is about busted and the buttons aren’t all that good either, so I thought I might as well give the modding a shot. Then I could just put the FS3 stick and buttons into my MvC TE controller for friends to use if they want. How easy / difficult will this be?

Warranty is only voided when you remove the sticker on the bottom of the TE. It does not void warranty when you remove the screws from the top, and I’m wondering if there is a a good way to remove the 24mm buttons without having to dismantle the bottom of the TE.

@Sakabato
dang i was about to suggest wedging something like a piece of folded paper or thin piece of scrap on one of the tabs so that ur small screwdriver cud have another go at the opposite tab (hopefully ur tabs are facing in a vertical direction)… looks like lockon found something even better… well u have many options now… good luck

Better start my moddin

Guys, I find the discussions on SRK very high-level…so high level that a scrub like me can’t really understand completely.
I’m in need of advice, anyway.
I always played with the X360 gamepad (yeah, I know), but now I would like to invest a bit of cash in a good quality stick in order to play (S)SF4 and BlazBlue (Yeah, BlazBlue is going to be released in Europe…finally -_-).
I did some research and it seems that the MadCats Official SF4 Tournament Edition Round 2 would be a solid choice.
However, before wasting money, I thought that it would be a good idea to ask the experts, i.e. you all.

Remember that I’m really noob, and this is my first time playing with an arcade stick (other then arcades in Tokyo, anyway).

Thanks for your help

EDIT: another extremely noob question: the arcade sticks are not region locked, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

the madcatz tournament stick is really good, if you are interested in it and have the money you should buy it.

joysticks are not region locked

Thanks for your answer.
I noticed that on Amazon.com there are lots of sticks on sale, and some of them are within the same price range.

For example, what’s the difference between this and this? They’re both available for the Xbox it seems.
Which one should I get?
