Problem is there is way more than one way to do everything. But a good starting off point is http://slagcoin.com
Hey there, my name is Jesse. I was pointed here by Jay Jay, or J4Yx2, in hopes of gaining a better understanding on how to make my own personal custom fightstick from scratch. I’ve read a few posts already, and they’re great about helping you understand things, but I tend to have a wandering mind, so I forget after a while. So I just wanted to know a few key parts, which are these:
-
What’s the average price that a custom stick would cost overall? I’m not trying to make the most amazing stick ever, but just a stick to practice my fighting, and crafting, skills on, but still have it be a decent stick.
-
How can I, or who could help me, create custome faceplates for my fightsticks?
-
Whould anyone be willing to be a mentor to me? As in, helping me make my stick by guiding, answering questions, and emailing exting me, to help me as much as possible.
Two side questions, and I know it’s about personal preference, but I’d like some sort of starting point; Whis is better, Sanwa or Semitsu[not sure if that is right], for making custom fightsticks? Also, are you able to mix and match parts from both companys?
Ok, one more; Where is a good place, online, to shop for parts to put a whole fightstick together?
I know I probably ask idiotic questions, but I am just really eager to get started, and help others later like y’all do. Well, thanks for any help I get. I know you’ll point me in the right directions. Until next time. ^±^
I’ve got a problem one of my Snes>PSX converter from Keio store not working properly. when I connect it it seems to go haywire. I decided to open it up and this is what i found.'
I think soldering might help but not sure.
I thought the 8YT was rotated 90 degrees?
Maybe this is really a 8T?

What direction do I rotate the PCB for a WWE BrawlStick?
From the top to the right 90 degrees?
Whats a reasonably priced crimper I can get to make my own Wiring Harness? I can’t always wait a few weeks to have it shipped, and sometimes I just wanna fool around or preserve original harnesses…
Best tutorial for making custom art, and printing it please?
Hello.
I wonder what kind of nut use in your sticks.
For example:
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m197/b16sdm/Morrigan%20Custom%20Arcade%20Stick/Morrigan13.jpg
This image belongs to a B15 stick.
Are this common nuts like this one?

If yes, how do you stick it to the box? Glued?
I found this kind of nuts, but they are too big, for a 6mm diameter screw.

Thank you.
Kay, so, yeah- I fucked up.
I bought a controller today for more than I wished to pay for it (still much cheaper than a cthulu though, and along with removing some other stuff that I don’t need, I also removed the two analog sticks on their own pcb which were attached via two series of wires to the main pcb.
Everything is registering fine according to Windows 7 except both analog sticks are registering as down-right. However if I place my finger over the bottom set of circuits, the cursors for both analog sticks flutter around the center. If I connect all of them (as seen when I experimented with tin foil and bare wire), something goes awry and the computer doesn’t read the controller anymore. The circuits are labeled:
UCC GND PC4 PC3 PC2 PC1 PA1 PA2
Obviously, GND is the ground and I think PA 1 & 2 are R3 & L3. I’m also fairly certain PC1-4 are four directional censors but I have no idea what UCC is. I’m considering soldering PC1-4 and GND together and see if those four signals cancel out the analog sticks and their respective axes but I need to wait until monday before I can get to a soldering iron again. Any other suggestions if that fails? Am I going to have to attempt to reattach the sticks?

You are not supposed to remove the Analogs.
If you do, you have to replace with Resistors.
Hey guys, I have been using my custom arcade stick for over an year now but it only works with PS3 and PC. Now, my area has a tournament next month which has only Xbox 360 so I wanna somehow mod my stick so that it can be used with 360 as well.
Can somebody please link me to a simple tutorial where I can use the PCB of my 360 controller to be used with the arcade stick or if I can buy a PCB which will work with PS3, PC and 360 as well. The prize money is huge so I am ready to spend on a good PCB.
I’m not sure if I’m allowed to make a thread like this, and if I’m not, then I apologize, but I would like to get some things answered, and get some help. Sorry again if this isn’t allowed, and thank you.

Hey guys!
I’m planning on building my first arcade stick ever,so please bear with me if i ask stupid questions.
So first of all: I’m playing for about 1,5 year now and i’m using a Hori Tekken 6 Wireless Stick for PS3,however,i want an upgrade so i’m planning on creating a totally custom stick.
This arcade stick will be created for PS3 system (actually no need of dual mod) for an advanced player.
My bucket for creating the stick is about 80$ (and I have parts to it,like wires and wood and plastic at home),however i found out this is more then enough money to create a custom stick with Sanwa parts.
Currently i have this part list:
PCB,with wires and USB: Turbo PC/PS3 interface for 1 player STD panel (has no real name…) (LINK)
Joystick+mounting plate+shaft cover kit: Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK (LINK)
Pin connector (for joystick): 5 pins connector for Sanwa/Seimitsu joysticks (LINK)
Buttons (8 button layout): 10*Sanwa OBSN-30 - White (LINK)
Restricter: Octogonal restricter GT-Y (LINK)
Please guys let me know if these parts are good or i should change them to something else.
My biggest problem is atm the PCB.
I cannot really decide between the one listed in parts and the Cthulhu PCBs.
It would be the best if i could order all of the parts from one place, because i live in Hungary,so the mail and USP prices from e.g. the USA is horrible (thats why i want to order from Starcab, they’re in France) and if i need to order a Cthulhu i would really like to get it about 30$ (not the multi-console one, only the PS3/PC) and for about a 5$ deliver cost.If you guys know a place where i can order it as i mentioned please let me know.
Also it’s a question for me if i should use screw- or snap-in button for a custom case?
Oh,and if i’m already wrote a long post like this let me ask, someone has a template PSD for Hori Tekken 6 Wireless Stick?
Thanks guys!
umm lets see,
1- This one really depends on parts. Like What kind of Case, pcb, paint, buttons etc.
2- You can make custom art on Photoshop. First you need the template. If it’s for a custom case you would need the dimensions.
3- Can’t help you here as i’ve never done anything like this before.
4- As for buttons go, Sanwas are more sensitive compared to Semitsu. If it’s for a custom case i think most people will use screw ons as apposed to snap ons.
5- i recommend focusattack for your arcade part needs.
Hoped this helped
Edit: Use the FAQ Sticky for any more questions you need answered in the future.
So I bought a Seimitsu LS 32 02 joystick for my “Dragoncube Power Stick” which is a Gamecube arcade stick. Problem is that “Dragoncube Power Stick” only has 4 places for wires (VDD,LY,LX and GND) and the stick has a 5 wire harness. it would seem that it would not be possible to have the two working together so my question is:
**A)**Is their a way to get around the fact that their is only 4 spots on my “Dragoncube Power Stick” (a adapter or somthing)
**B)**If not can i make this work with a Gamecube controller (if so a link to how this could be done would be nice)
**C)**If all those are not happaning is their a cheap gamecube arcade stick or somthing i could put this in so i can use it on my gamecube slot on the wii. (because i want to use it for games on the wii and gamecube).
Awesome. It helped a lot, considering I don’t know anything about this. I have some counter questions though. >_<;
-
I have no idea about what all I’d need. v_v; Like, I know I’ll need a body case, and everything, but I don’t know which PCB [which I don’t even know what those really are], or wires and stuff, I’d need.
-
I don’t own a computer, so there is no way I could do it. I was wondering if there were any people that could custom make them. ^_^;
-
Darnitt. Lol
-
Alrighty. I prefer sensitive, and quick reaction, buttons, as opposed to stiff ones.
-
I checked there, but they’re out of DIY frames to make custom sticks. T-T
Thank you. =3

Info Thread: Rules, FAQs and Tutorials Inside. (READ THIS BEFORE HITTING THAT NEW THREAD BUTTON!) for all your questions…
Thanks. I’ve been to both of those already, but I still need help to understand everything more. I’m a simple man, and I’m not going to say “Oh, I got it now.”, just because I read FAQs, and online tutorals. I need a mentor kind of person, to constantly be helping me.
Everything is here:
If you’re making a custom stick with Sanwa parts, you’re probably gonna be looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of $150 or more. I can help you out if you’d like. I’m still an amateur builder myself, but I know the process now and I can probably tell you what you need to know.
