Amazon.ca has the Hori Fighting Stick 3 (PS3) on for $30. Is it worth it buying as a starter stick? I know it’s not well-liked but it seems like a good price.

you should never compare yourself to TRNG! He is actively running akishop while you run your fat lips.

wow. nice deletion!

Hey guys, I have a question.
I have one SE stick which is modded will all sanwa, and one which is all stock, both for the PS3.
The modded one is mine, and the stock is my brothers. My brothers been playing on it for about 4-5 months now, and I’m starting to get
worried that it’s about to break or something. If it does break down (buttons stop working, etc…) what if I replace the buttons/stick with sanwa parts? Will that fix the problem and everything will be good ?

if your brother’s stock SE stick/buttons stop working, then replace it with sanwa parts. Sanwas should last you for a very long time. However, if you replaced the stock buttons with new ones and the SE still won’t function and the PS3 doesn’t detect it, you might need to replace the pcb.

What exactly is it that’s making you worry about the stick? Specific details please.

Oh alright, thanks for the info man.

At random times, one button would just stop working for a couple seconds. After a couple of pushes, it would go back to normal.

Test the conenction with a multimeter to be sure (or simply just touch the QDs together) to see if it happens outside of the button.

I recently bought a JLF stick from lizardlick to swap out the mad catz one and the buttons work fin but the joystick itself can only go in the down direction. I tired switching it between LS DP RS and it stl does the same thing…I haven’t used the stick till today to test it out so I’m thinkin that they shipped me a broken stick. I checked to see if I pluged all the wires in correctly and they are. what do I do?

how do i increase the tension on my stick? the te stick is aslightly too sensitive

is there anyway to make it so the stick does not rotate, as well?

My Post above on this Page of the Thread.

No, you cannot stop Shaft from spinning.
It is in design of Joystick.

Looks like it is Previous Page now.
Laugh.

I’m wondering…

for SFIV, primarily, what are the pro’s and con’s of 6 and 8 button layouts?

6 Button would keep my cost down… but are the extra 2 buttons needed?

Nope.

I’ve just heard people say “in high level play having to press 3 buttons at almost the exact same time can be very difficult… especially if you’re in the middle of a tournament.”

I also don’t plan on using it for SF4 only… are there any other games where you have to have 8 buttons to play effectively? What about a 7-button set-up? I’ve seen those in the arcades. I’m no noob when it comes to soldering or wiring, or electronics in general, I’m just a noob when it comes to button layouts and set-ups.

Primarily will be using it for (in order)…

1(tied) SSFIV
1(tied) CvS2
1(tied) MvC2
4 BlazBlue
5 3rd Strike
6 SFA3

Were there 7 buttons installed or was it a 7-button Vewlix panel with the 7th hole plugged?

This is more of a personal preference thing. I prefer a 6-button layout and find extra buttons next to my hand distracting. For custom sticks I use 6 buttons only, and in 8-button sticks I own, I usually plug the rightmost holes. A lot of people leave the buttons there but ignore them. Assigning these to non-arcade-standard actions like PPP or KKK is allowed in a lot of tournaments, but generally looked down upon.

Sometimes there are real uses for these buttons like icon/title config menus in SFIV, or an additional button that does something in training mode, and with a 6-button layout you’ll either miss out on these features or have to use another controller. But there’s also the option of moving the buttons to the side or back of the case, still keeping the 6 up top.

Just my opinion. A lot of people like the 8-button layout.

Hi guys, I’m making my first stick, and the only thing I can’t figure out is how to get a protected art print here in the UK? Lami Label sounds great but only in the USA.
