You need an RF adapter. Gamestop sells a multiconsole version of it.

If I were you I would go trolling Goodwill for a better TV. I got a large CRT with component inputs for $50.

Noob question, but I just got a replacement cable compartment door for my TE. Should I be opening the TE up in order to replace the compartment door?
Edit: Nevermind, already did it. Was a lot more simple than I thought, lol.
I’m currently using an LS-32 and I love it, but I think in my upcoming PS2 stick I’d like to try something else. Anything out there that’s a bit more resistant than the LS-32? Not just spring, but in microswitches as well. Something with a bit more click to it, nice tactile feedback.
Thanks
LS-52 according to slagcoin, is the one you’d be looking for then. It rates the spring stregnth as “heavy”. While the LS-32 was rated “medium”. However I don’t know about the micro switches.
Quoted for the mother fucking truth. I always order three prints because of this. I hate living in an area without lamilabeling.
Another finicky thing about laminate is that you should always get 2-3 test jobs printed at varying levels of increased brightness because the laminate will darken the artwork.
And you can forget saving the holes for Seimitsu buttons. It ain’t happening. Instead, get another set printed out on cardstock for button art.
Yes, that means I typically get eight things printed for one piece of art. 2-3 test jobs, one of those laminated with two extra copies, and three on cardstock. This is why I rarely do art mounts now unless it’s being sent to me from Arthong. That’s typically a “one and done” affair.
The LS-56 fits that description exactly lol. Only thing is that it has less throw and engage distance, if you don’t mind that.
First Time Stick Modder
Hey Gang-
Looking to replace the stick in a Mayflash Arcade Stick USB/PS2/PS3. That thing is so loose I can hardly Hadouken (or it could be its my first stick ) I’ve heard the Mayflash is very mod friendly and I’m not using it as is, so why not?
I’m looking for a low end stick to get up to speed on modding and figure out if I’ll ever abandon the fight pad in favor of a stick. I think I want a round restrictor plate (I believe it’s US style) as this seems smoother to me than the square plate (Japanese style) for SF moves. I need some pointers on:
~what is a good “value stick” for my needs
~what will fit in my box in the existing mounting plate/brackets
~The HAPP competition stick at Lizzard Lick is looking good price wise, but is it any better than the current stick (and is it US or JP style)
~any links to step by steps for modding Mayflashes would be appreciated
Mayflash will be okay I suppose. If you only play on PS3/PC a MadCatz SE stick will be better, but that’s roughly it within currently available low-grade sticks that have good modding value.
A Sanwa JLF will most definitely fit. I am unsure on Seimitsu joysticks (properly mounted that is), but HAPP parts will not fit (too big/long lol).
HAPP is US style. You should try Sanwa JLF with octagonal gate.
Follow this guide to mount joystick at proper height: http://shoryuken.com/f177/paewang-revolution-mayflash-modding-tutorial-ver-laugh-[lots-pictures]-222925/
For buttons you can try Korean Crown buttons or you can sand down the button holes to 30mm to use Sanwa/Seimitsu pushbuttons. Your choice.
EDIT: Wiring Mayflash sticks differs depending on the production date of the circuit board. You can follow the Paewang guide for 2007 PCB but for 2009 PCB you will need to do something like this.
Thanks VietGeek!
New SE Stick
Just recently got into SSFIV. Thought id give it a try and look for fightsticks in stores before i ordered one online and got lucky at an EB games. Anyways thats beside the point.
I bought an MadCatz SE stick and have not had any problems with the buttons or stick at all. Only problem is my Turtle Beach XLC earforce (the cheap turtle beach headset) is not registering. Ill watch in game to see it clip with a headset at a certain point, but shoved in all the way or trying to find the spot it sticks works to no avail. Nobody can hear me at all no matter how much i fidget with it. I have yet to try a default headset because i don’t really want to spend money right now.
So basically my question is it common for these SE sticks to have faulty jacks? or do certain headsets not work?
I’d like to have a stick to use on PC to play on GGPO and the like. Are there any xbox stick absolutely work for any computer, or is it a case by case situation? I have an older Dell laptop and none of my PS3 controllers work on it and I’m assuming it’s because of my drivers and/or ports. I would prefer just to buy a madcatz CE and be done with it without modding my computer if possible. Thanks!
I bought a multi console modded TE from an SRK member a few months back. It worked fine initially on 360, then I used it on PS3 (its the kind that requires you to hold turbo when u plug it in to work on PS3). Since then when I have tried to make it work on any system, I cannot get it to work. When I plug it in the ring around the XBOX button lights up then immediately off and the inputs don’t read. It still has power because when I press any of the light up buttons, they light up, but no inputs are being read on the game. Its probably because I’ve never used a modded stick and am unsure of how to switch between using it on different consoles. Any suggestions on how to make it work?
Guess i’ll keep piling on the n00b questions…
I’m looking to buy an arcade stick to “upgrade” myself from my xbox360 pad. I’ve gotten pretty well adapted to the analog stick on the pad, but the button layout is horrible for any kind of plinking or techs, and i’m starting to get to the level online where that kind of sh*t matters.
I have my eye on either the HRAP VX-SA for the xbox or one of the MadCatz tournement sticks, but have a major question. I would probably prefer having the HRAP over the MC because of the size and uniqueness (well, relatively). I don’t see many people using the Hori (which may be a negative for it, honestly), so i’d love to use something not many others do. Plus, i like the aesthetics a little better than the TE’s. But, the main question:
How hard is it to dual-mod a Hori VX-SA to work with a ps3 as well?
I’ve heard rumors of Third Strike only being on the PSN, but I own and play SSF4 on Xbox. I’d hate to drop the money on a stick for Xbox, but not be able to play 3S if it’s only for PSN. I’ve read the modding the VX-SA varies from “it’s a b*tch to do” to “plug and play”, so that’s the only reason i’ve been looking at the easier-to-mod TE…
Opinions?
VX-SA may seem more unique, but its very new by comparison.
Dual modding a VX-SA is perfectly doable.
Older, Hori EX’s however cannot be.
The VX SA is a sexy beast of a stick. not as common as the TE but just as good if not better if you talk to certin players. Modding it isnt as hard as people say the pcb is pretty straight forward. I think I saw in a post a month ago that 3s was going to be downloadable soon for 360 and PS3. Just dont remember the release date.
Thanx for the input guys.
I decided to go with the Round 2 TE, since pretty much every other console accessory and console i have is black, i actually realized it’d look kind of stupid to go with a bright-white VX-SA. Also, it seems like the button layout of the TE will be better than the VX. I haven’t played on a stick in a LOOOOONG time, but if i remember correctly, the alignment of the TE matches more of what i’m used to.
That, and it seems there are much more customization options for MadCatz offering than the Hori, but that just may be because, Toodles said, it’s still pretty new. If i decide to get serious about stick customization, i’d rather go with something more people have experience with if i need help.
And that won’t cause input lag or anything will it?
Even if it’s from some shit brand I’ve never heard of?
Hey peps, gotta a quick question.
My Madcatz SE stick for the 360 is currently being dual-modded with an MC Chutulu for PS2 functionality. Is is possible to use the Pelican 6338 PS2-PS3 adapter for use on the PS3 as well? Just wondering.
