Is it completely, utterly, absolutely necessary for me to drill a 24mm hole for the arcade stick(JLF-TP-8YT-SK)? I was thinking of just using the 30mm hole saw that I’m going to use for the buttons so no extra money spent on more bits I might not need for my low standards(Im not going for perfect quality). What are the consequences of an over-sized hole(in this case)?
none at all… you can use 30mm… its just a look you get with the 24mm… helps keep a smaller profile on your stick walls but not needed…
You could make a 30mm hole for the stick, but remember that dust and other contaminates may accumulate faster because the dust-cover for the JLF might not cover the hole 100%, thus, it might degenerate the JLF a bit faster.
Thanks guys. Well I have a lot of big dustwashers lying around so its no big deal. God Im so close to making my own stick I can taste it…
good luck with the project! saka is right you will get a lot of “crud” with a 30mm hole but it will work
I may or may not have read that GG AC is one of those wii games that is not compatible with controllers plugged into the gamecube port, only Classic Controller like pads and arcade sticks that go in the Wiimote. Samurai Shodown Anthology is like this too.
when printing stick art, do u print to the exact dimensions of the TE faceplate? or do u print excess (bleed), and trim the rest. If you do print larger, and have it laminated, wont trimming it ruin the lamination and allow it to peal back?
GGAC for Wii definitely works with Gamecube controller. I just thought of another thing I had to do though; go into settings using a different controller (wiimote, classic controller, etc) and set it so that under Gamecube control scheme, it has dpad on.
Before changing this setting, I was unable to move around even the main menu, but buttons still worked when pressed. If this is the case you’re dealing with, the change I outlined above might solve the issue.
So, if i’m going to do an rj45 mod to an MC… do i need to remove the USB jack? Is it kosher to leave it on? Does it matter either way?
(getting ready to order an MC+imp hopefully at the end of this week, and i want to have all my ducks in a row. Wow. What a horrible colloquialism…)
No. Yes. No, but leavin it on is smarter.
Thanks for the quick reply. I didn’t know if it would bork anything up leaving it on… as i have little experience w/ any internal boards, let alone any of the components on them.
Can’t wait to dig in (i love learning new shit. and this is a whole new area for me. enjoying the hell out of it!)
Hey guys I have a question.
Is it possible to put a LS-33 spring into a PS-32-01 stick. I want the stick to become looser.
My friend had this exact same problem today, only the down input didn’t work only on the home screen. It worked ingame, and when he switched the directional input to d pad it started working on the home screen. Wtf?
So 2 of my pushbuttons on a TE r2 are completely rotatable now. Cracked the cover and i see whats seems to be “shavings” from the buttons.
Is this normal wear and tear? I had this stick for only 2 months.
New buttons i need?
That’s a bit rough of wear and tear. But new buttons should fix you up. Any 30mm Japanese (Sanwa or Seimitsu) button will fit. The TE uses Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons. You can order here?Pushbuttons
stop punching your buttons!
I have an old 20something inch CRT that I’d like to use as an extra setup but the only connection it has on it is that coaxial used for cable or whatever. Can you still hook up an Xbox using a converter? What exactly is that kind of input usually refereed to as?
if i laminate my artwork for a TE faceplate, do I need to put plexi on top of it as well, or will the lamination suffice?
oh and whats a good adhesive to use for the artwork on the faceplate?
The Laminate will suffice. M3 adhesive spray is common and good to go.
it is one or the other tho… most choose plexi since its an easy swap out and the paper is understandably easier to cut without Laminate.
if you choose Laminate tho do yourself a favor and use regular print paper with your artwork… cuttin 90lbs cardstock with laminate is a pain in the ass and you will be prone to more cutting errors because of it.
