Absolute Question and Answer Thread (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

To case constructors/people knowledgeable about architecture: I need your input and help.

I plan on constructing a case using lego bricks. I intend to use them as support for the top panel(which will be plexi) and the bottom panel will be either plexi or lego again. Depends if I intend on using the space to put some kind of lego related design(which will be visible due to the plexi on top).

Should I use some kind of adhesive or bonding agent between the brick connections for a stronger structure? If so what are my options?

Anything else that should be taken into account? I have a rough design in my head but it would be better explained visually. Once I get the pieces I’ll try to upload a pic of the design I have in mind.

I’ve never done it but I’m sure you can find some of your answers there.

My friend wants to try a flipped layout with the stick on the right.
In my head, I can just rotate the JLF PCB and rewire the buttons so A is where LB is now, X is where LT is ect ect.
Is there any reason we can’t do this?

At some point the idea would be to get a new faceplate, but in the meantime he could see if he likes it before we buy custom parts.

How do folks mount plexiglass screwless? I assume buttons play a part in holding it down, but is that it?

Yes. The buttons would be what hold it in place.

Am I right in assuming that I can use these PS-14-GN measurements for making a panel design using PS-14-KN buttons? Or does someone happen to have the KN measurements handy, including the size of the button inlays?

you can use those measurements. if you are using sanwa or seimitsu a 30mm hole is what you will need. heres a guide for the pushbutton styles

Im thinking of using that for my top panel for my arcade stick(I’ve abandoned the lego design idea for now).

Anyone think its a good idea?

Hori VX or TE-S?
I need to decide for the holidays.

Hori VX, easily.

Don’t want to make a thread just for this so, I just bought two Seimitsu bubble tops and both of them have a mold line around the center and a protruding dot at the top also from the mold. Is this normal for these balltops?

That’s normal for all ball-tops to have a very small dot on the top of ball-tops, as well as those molding lines. Do not worry, they won’t affect game-play whatsoever.

Question : i currently have a full sanwa modded mayflash stick, how can i use it on a xbox360?

There’s an arcade near me with an MvC2 cab that is sort of like a head-to-head cab but it’s shaped to fit in a corner. So each player has their own panel and screen (so there’s two screens), but the whole thing has a 90 degree angle backing.

Is there a name for this style of cabinet? Never seen one before and I can’t find a picture of one on google.

sounds like an astrocity cab

An Astro City could not be further from what I described.

Where’s a good place online to get art pre printed and cut out, ready to go for TE round 2 sticks. I have two waiting for me for xmas and I want to replace the art.

bah… read it wrong then cause it sounded like this
