Would this be my fault or can I return the stick back then? Thanks for the reply
I’m about to build my own vewlix, but I have a quick question about the stick positions. I remember the traditional old school games having a slight slant on the hand board (or it could be my rotting brain), but from the looks of these Vewlix cabs they look as though they sit dead flat.
What are the preferences here and anyone had the same thoughts? I’m partial to the slant myself… (that doesn’t…sound quite… right)
Hey guys, I wanted to ask about the Round 1 TE stick’s sides where it’s white, I have a Round 1 TE stick. You see, I want my stick to be like the TE-S, but I don’t have money to buy that and would rather save money anyways. Is there a way to make the sides of the Round 1 to be like the TE-S? Also is there another way to make the stick white like the Femme Fatale stick? I want the stick to pretty much be all white but the shape of the TE-S. I plan on using the full TE plexi from art’s hobbies.
P.S. what’s the size of the TE stick’s buttons? I want to get screw on buttons.
So hm, I’m having a little bit of trouble figuring out a few things. It says that I should get:
- Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK Ball Handle Joystick
- Sanwa OBSF-30 Pushbuttons
If I want to mod my SE and make it match a TE. But my problem is that I prefer bat tops, do I actually need to buy the bat top adapter? And as for the buttons, how many are they per $2.95? Am I supposed to get 8 of them? Well, that will be all. Hopefully I didn’t skip on a thread or anything.
Thank you.
If you want to use a bat top on the JLF you need the adapter. The buttons are one per $2.95 – but that’s actually a fair price. That’s the price of quality.
Thank you for your quick response. I have absolutely no problem with the buttons being $2.95 the unit, just wanted to make sure that I order the right number. I have no doubt about its quality seeing as how Sanwa’s pushbuttons are often considered the best buttons around the place.
I’ll be making my order as soon as I get my hands on a credit card, thank you again!!

Quick one for ya: What’s my are my two best options for printing custom artwork, and affixing it to, a Madcats SE stick? (does Art do ANYTHING SE? I did a check, didn’t see SE. I know plexi would be a dick due to the slight curvature, but whattabout art? Kinko’s printing w/ laminate? And best substance to attach? I know nothing and am modding an SE for Wife®. Will post pics when done. simple, yet personal ;))
Laminate with self adhesive.
Laminate with spray on adhesive (3M spray glue).
Vinyl print with spray on adhesive.
first and second pretty much the same
Probably not doing vinyl until i have a full-blown custom built funbox. But as for printing-
(notice: until ya’ll custom builders are a horrible influence on my wallet and free time :p)
Can i go to Kinkos for the high quality print and lamination? Or will they even do the self adhesive? Are there specifics to ask for in paper, size, res (or is that all based on file information? if i built it off of a template, can i just hand them the file and say 'print with self adhesive laminate)?
yes you can
here ya go…

THANK YOU! I was sure i had witnessed a thread about it, but it had sunk so low… and i never remember to call the stick “standard” when searching. (se is the only thing my mind recognizes anymore :p). So, for my searching (albeit as light as it was), thanks for point me there.
I owe ya a beer.
no worries!
mmm beer… hell I’ll wire up cases for a pack of dark beer… damn… gotta get to the store!
Well that about settles it. Next time i’m in CA, i’m finding you, grabbin’ a case of stout and we’re getting sloshed while you mod things for me. >_>
Ok ok, fine. So we’ll grab a case of stout and just get sloshed. Forget the rest
(oh how i miss the days of inebriated invention. i should really try that again.)
soldering drunk is an experience haha.
Quick question…is there a difference between ball tops at all? Or are they essentially all the same? I have a hori ball top on my hrap ex and was wondering if a sanwa felt any different.
they are essentially the same. I dont have a hori myself but I’ve seen enough self mods that the balltops are able to be changed. there isnt really a diffrence in sanwa’s just looks. The other custom balltops you have a little bit of extra weight to them that people will either like or dislike cause of playstyle.
Will Seimitsu PS-14-KN 30mm Pushbutton work in a TE round 2?
Yup, they work fine and are used by a bunch of people.
odd question
can you use a positive contact from one pcb, and a ground contact from another pcb to complete the circuit for a button press?
obviously both boards are common ground.
