Unless it is UMK3 for Xbox 360. Too bad they removed that game from the Live Market place. I didn’t buy it before they removed it.
Hey guys, happy thanksgiving.
As a preface of my situation, I have an SE stick, and I regret asking for it beyond all belief. I knew virtually nothing about the inside sticks prior to an hour ago.
I was playing a match, and all of the sudden I couldn’t move left. I opened the bad boy up and I soon figured out that the little red trigger that detects your direction was fucked up. Obviously my left trigger thing was messed up, to be exact. The real problem is that I cannot get the clear plastic cover over the black boxes that hold the triggers. I got two pairs of hands to try and press the black things that seem to keep it down.
Anything I’m not doing? Is there something else I’m missing? Also, do any of you guys know how to fix the problem with the red trigger once I get the clear barrier off?
Thanks a TON in advance… No pun intended.
Wii Fighting Stick Question
Does anybody know if there is a Wii stick on the market that comes standard with Sanwa or Seimetsu parts? I’d like to get an arcade-quality stick for playing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and the old Neo Geo VC titles. I know that it’s possible to mod the Hori stick, but that requires a lot more soldering and dremeling than I’m comfortable with at this point in my modding career. I’m more interested in a stick where I can just open it up and pop parts in.
Any suggestions?
Didn’t know this. Wasn’t much of an MK fan. Stinks… But I think it’s kind of impossible to have this problem now.
That is just the stock microswitch dying. The parts in the SE are quite poor compared to the real deal. What you should do is pick up a real stick: Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK Joystick is the easiest to pop-n-swap with little more than just a screwdriver. But, there are other sticks, too, like the LS-32. But the JLF is by far the most popular.
While your shopping for better parts, you might as well pick up 30mm buttons in your favorite flavors (The stock buttons are knockoffs of Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons, just so you know what kind to look for). It may seem like a lot of spending, but you will likely never use these parts enough to have to replace them. And they play much, much smoother than the SE’s stock parts. It is very easy to replace the parts. There are a lot of guides out there, though. You can probably find one by searching “Sanwa modding SE” on YouTube.
Madcatz TvC stick. Which actually has surprisingly decent knockoff parts. But not the real deal. Easily pop and swap.
I see, thanks. I just finished work on a PS3 stick that was all Sanwa (I just made a few swaps to the stick, swapped the ball top for a bat top, changed the shaft guard and washer out for bare shaft and dust washer, swapped the square gate for an octagon), so this seems like a good step-up project.
Im too noobish for this thread
I have a ssf4 madcatz $150 model…
I dont like how the ball spins, Id like it if it didnt so that I could grip more. I feel that my play would be tighter.
also, the stick is kinda short and my hands kinda big. I still want the ball top. is there such a thing?
@ WilliamFAlmeida :
Ball spins because shaft spins. You have to deal with it. Sorry.
You can always by a larger ball-top. The stock one on the TE-S is 35mm and there are Sanwa Ball-tops that are 45mm, but you need an adapter to have it that large.
Ok, I have a question about Tech Talk. Is it only for discussing fightsticks, controllers, etc? I wanted to ask some questions about video capturing and the best method to do it without recording off screen via digital camcorder. Is it likely that I can find someone to help me with this here?
EDIT: Nevermind, I dug back a few pages and found some extremely helpful threads about this subject.
darn… I guess its all hard work from here. thanks for the help bro!:china:
Thanks!
is there an entertainment setup picture thread on srk? i want to see everybody’s set up…
Has anyone ever padhacked with this controller?

It seems pretty cheap, which is can both be a good and a bad thing.
But, uhh, the description is something like “works for PSX, not for PS2”. Eyebrow-raising stuff there, I guess.
Are Sony pads really that hard to come by? I’m in a tiny little town and I can buy them for $5 - $10 tops all day long.
Is there anyway to dual mod a HRAP EX while keeping the original PCB?
cos most of my friends have a PS3 and I feel like dual modding my HRAP EX!
Not quite, just trying to squander for a few dollars. <_<
What is the general consensus of padhacking a digital-only PSX pad? Only downside is some incompatibilities with certain converters, yes?
thank you.
Quick question for whoever can help. I want to mod my stick with new artwork and such but I want to get rid of 2 buttons (I strictly use the 6-button setup). As of now I just have plugs in the slots of said buttons. My question is, how do I go about covering them up (without plugs) when I put new artwork on? Thanx in advance.
really depends on what stick you have. but the majority of the retail sticks out there you just place the art over the unwanted holes and buy a plexi cover with your button config (or in the madcatz SE’s case you just layer over with new laminated artwork). depending on what you have there are a couple places that sell plexiglass replacemets.
Pretty much what blind said, but if you are just placing lamilabel over your stick instead of plexiglass, I put a little bit of tape underneath the hole covers after I’ve applied artwork, just to give it a bit of extra reinforcement.
