Joystick

I am about to mod my Madcatz SF4 Round 2 TE fightstick for the 1st time. I know that All the parts are originally from Sanwa. My question is, What was the original part of the joystick? is it a Sanwa JLF-TM-8T-SK joystick or Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK?? Is it written somewhere if I open the fightstick?

I have a MadKatz SE, and the buttons are just horrible. However, the button I’m using for jab is now malfunctioning. It chooses whether it wants to be responsive or not.
Basically you can hit it 15 times and get nothing, or you can hit it 15 times and get 15 jabs.

Can a button be “fixed” as far as the contact is concerned, or do i need to replace it completely?

you are better off just replacing them with sanwa or seimitsu buttons. The problem you are having is very common with SE’s. the buttons do wear down quite fast.

Hey all, I want to add to my stick(HRAP3 SA) custom art. I’ve seen DSP’s tutorial on how to mod a regular HRAP3 and in his guide he adds a plexi he purchases for putting above the art.

In HRAP3 SA it’s not necessary right? Since it already has the plastic plate.

Do you guys get your wire from anywhere special or just RS.

trying to buy wire cheap/in bulk

The plastic on a HRAP3 SA is not clear as far as I know. You need the acrylic from Tek-innovations or need to get a adhesive polycarbonate panel print from gameongrafix.

What gauge is that, rtd? The one closest to me has two in stock… I may have to go buy both…

Can anybody tell me is there a way to make a pc controller work with xbox360?

Yes: No.

24 gauge to my best knowledge.

Yes. First, earn 500 trillion and buy all of Microsoft. Then ruthlessly fire engineers until they figure out a way to firmware disable the stupid controller security chip that blocks out 3rd party controllers and forces a select few 3rd parties lucky enough to pay a licensing fees to MS to make accessories.

Let me see if I got this straight, after I’ll detach the plastic from the plate on the SA (which will be quite difficult without hurting the plastic) I’ll be able to either clean those two up and add the custom art in between them or just to tear apart the plastic and replace it with a new one from Tek-Innovation. Will that be okay?

I’ve seen the acrylic stuff on Tek-Innovation, looks horrible imo and I want to keep my HRAP3 case.

Btw, I didn’t find the product you mentioned from gameongrafix.

For acrylic.
I’m assuming the HRAP has Plastic like the Tekken 5 stick. You rip the plastic off and throw it away. Pour Goo Gone over the adhesive residue left on the metal panel. Let it soak for a few minutes to dissolve adhesive then take some sort of scraper like a paint scraper to remove adhesive. Sandwich art between metal panel and Acrylic from tekinnovations.

For Polycarbonate panel. Design your own panel in Photoshop and send it to Gameongrafix.com to be printed. They send it to you in a tube and you apply it like a big sticker. Take a hobby knife to trim the excess.

Thanks, is there any particular difference between sei or san buttons? I don’t want it too loose or too resistant. The stock buttons were looser than id like.

Seimitsu are probably closer to what you want. Sanwa are super-sensitive. You could breathe on them to activate.

My friend has a TvC stick he doesn’t want to be on the Wii anymore. Aside from swapping out the PCB (PS3 Cthulhu if it matters) and installing a USB jack, anything else I need to know before I start buying parts and voiding warrentees?

Don’t forget to buy a joystick harness.

I’m padhacking a MadCatz SFIV FightPad and I see that they use Right Button and Right Trigger for the face buttons, LB/LT for the shoulders. My stick is only gonna have six pushbuttons and I’m wondering if I should just solder RB/RT or do one of the shoulders for RB/LB (or RT/LT)?

I know that in the PC (and presumably console) version of Street Fighter IV you can change the button layout to your liking, but can the same be said for most fighting games on Xbox 360?

Yes, you can change it to whatever you want. You could just use all 6 face buttons. That is the default layout for light/medium/heavy on SSFIV for 360. Any good fighting game worth your time will allow you to remap buttons on 360.

Cool, thank you!
