@ highlulu : Size 3 Allen Wrench should do the trick.

I’ve got two ps3 TEs, but I’d like to have someone mod one for multi-console. I’ve been talking with people here about doing it, but clearly xbox controllers are way easier to dual/multi mod than ps3s. With the recent sale of the xbox SE stick, my question is, can I purchase the cheap SE and have the modder use that board with my ps3 stick? Is $29 dollars the easiest way to fix my problem without selling my ps3 fightstick, and purchasing 360 TEs?

Yup, that would work fine. There is one caveat thought; you’d have to swap the plastic over the LED/Guide part of both sticks; that would make it white on the TE, and black on the SE if you swapped them. Otherwise, that’ll work perfectly.

Would those pieces be paint-able though? Anyways thanks for the answer. Appreciate it.

Is there any way I can use a Street Fighter IV TE stick(PS3) on the PS2?

Put in a PS2 PCB (or teplace it with an MC Cthulhu).

Trying to get Final Burn Alpha working (not the one packaged with GGPO, that one’s fine), but the ROM list won’t pick up half the games in the ROM folder even after rescanning. It won’t pick up any Neo Geo games despite me having neogeo.zip, and it won’t pick up Third Strike. It works with Red Earth (also CPS3) just fine, though.

I just took the roms I wanted from my GGPO folder and stuck them in the new one, do I need different ROMs or something?

I have a new stick but there seems to be a problem,I have a tri moded stick.I’m using s MC Cthulhu, with a madcats 360 fightpad pcb, as well as an IMP with a psx pcb. I’m trying to play on my ps3 a but it seems as if it’s not turning on at all or responding.I also tired it on a different ps3 just in case it was mine that was damaged or something. But the samething happens. But when it’s connected to a pc it reads it ,and plays fine. Any reasons for this? Thank you.

That doesn’t make much sense. Why would there be a PSX pcb in it if you have an MC Cthulhu? Weird, but doesn’t help the problem. Open up the control panel applet for Game Controllers (Start->Run->“control joy.cpl”) and post up what it says in the box.

Oh shit my bad =/ didn’t mean to add that psx stuff.
Controler: Cthulhu Multiconsole Edition
Status: Ok
That’s what it says

First off, go into the properties for the Cthulhu. Move the stick around and hit some buttons. You’re looking for any buttons that are lit up without you pressing a button, buttons that dont light something up, or any other oddity that stands out. Post up what you find.
2. What do you have to do to select 360 mode or PS3 mode? Did you do that to use it on the PC?
3. How exactly are you testing it on the PS3? What are you doing, what do you expect to happen, and what is it doing instead?

How much “tech” is involved in my problem is uhh…very questionable but it does relate to a piece of tech: the TE stick.

So I bought a TE that is second (third?)-hand goods and there’s a good bit of rust on the metal faceplate where the buttons rest and a few of the faceplate screws are also rusted. Is there a DIY-remedy for getting rid of rust? It’s pretty fugly and smells like not-so-tasty-fish. <_<

Otherwise…

I’m thinking of buying some Naval Jelly. Is that a good/bad/outrageous stupid endeavor? Where could I find some?

Where is a good custom joystick maker?

I’m just curious if there’s a way to tell if a PCB is common ground without the use of a multimeter? (I searched and didn’t come up with much). I have a Performance GamePad Colors for the PlayStation 1 that I can’t find anything for online.

I’m strapped for cash and can’t pick up a multimeter until the end of next week (even one of the cheap ones from RadioShack) but I’d like to determine it common ground before I finish my 360 stick, if at all possible.

Paradox, you would have to trace each pad from the PCB to see if they all connect to ground on one side. Might as well wait for the multimeter though – got anyone you can borrow one from?

You can look at it and see if all of the buttons and directions have one contact in common. (Though there are pads that are common +5.) You could also make a light-up tester with an LED and a resistor.

Nah, asked around, suppose I’ll just wait the week. Hopefully I can include it with the X360 in one stick.

The PCB already has an LED indicator for when a button is pressed. I went ahead and found ground, and tested every button with it and everything works. Played through a bit of Chrono Cross like that.

Still have L1 and R1 to do.

So I have a very n00b question and there are just too many pages and too many topics to really find anything. But since I’ve recently gotten into this whole modding culture I was wondering…I have the HRAP 3 and I wasn’t sure which button size is it uses. 24mm or 30mm?

Start and select are 24mm, the rest are 30mm.
