Nerrage - New DS FW supports Autodetection on all systems
Oh Snap! Cool stuff!
Forget what I said. DualStrike supports autodetection now, so donāt worry about that.
But just to elaborate on what I meant for earlier versions, whenever you plugged it into a powered USB port, you had to hold a button to switch the mode. Or when it was plugged into a console, and then the console turned on. Basically, when the stick first received power you had to hold a button down to tell the board to switch modes. BUT, this doesnāt matter anymore. DualStrike is completely AutoDetection. You should get that, unless if you canāt manage to get one, but Iām quite sure Phreakazoid has stock. So you can order those both at once from him, get a TE, and a few simple tools, watch the videos, and you have a dual modded TE.
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Button Layout?
I donāt have the MK vs DC game nor have I played it. I was wondering what the default button layout is so that I can use my custom MK stick. For now I am going to use it for UMK3 on Mame.
I have a UMK3 HRAP replacement panel.
I am hoping the MK vs DC button layout will transfer to MK 2011. I am assuming that the 4 face buttons are punch and kicks mapped as expected.
What is block and what is run?
EDIT:
Never Mind found it:
U = Up/Jump (SQUARE) = Attack 1
D = Down/Crouch (TRIANGLE) = Attack 2
F = Forward/Towards (CROSS) = Attack 3
B = Back/Away (CIRCLE) = Attack 4
(LB) = Throw / (SQUARE) + (CROSS)
(RB) = Klose Kombat / (TRIANGLE) + (CIRCLE)
(Crouching/Ducking while in Klose Kombat = Low Klose Kombat)
(LT) + U/D on D-Pad = 3D Movement
(RT) = BL / Block
Evade = (SQUARE) + (TRIANGLE)
Rage Mode = (LT + RT)
2D Movement = D-Pad
Pause = Start
from the information i gather, the buttons will change. they are doing away from from attack 1-4 and doing Front Punch/Rear Punch/Front Kick/Rear Kick. that is concrete. im not sure how block
(and run?) will be mapped but i am certain those will have their own buttons because they are going back to the roots. not sure if the ex(xray meter) moves or combo breaks will require an additional buttons or combinations. i think there will be a dedicated tag multi-fuction tag button for the different tag setups. everything else is up in the air and might change since the game is not complete yet i havent come accross the mappings for the versions demoed at shows yet.
lmfao @ taquito with gif!
I love me a GDLK Taquito!
Question: I have a Dreamcast Agetec stick. Shit, thatās not a question. Letās continue. Iām going to be Sanwa-ing the shit out of it in the near future. No need on help for that part. However, i also have a wireless 360 pad with a couple of stickie-icky buttons.
HEREāS the question: Would it be possible to pull the PCB from the pad and drop it in the agetec case, KEEPING the DC part working, but adding wireless 360 functionality to it? (not changing any current buttons, but adding start/select/xbox buttons on the side for 360 purposes, and adding a battery packā¦also wiring the buttons and stick to the new board too⦠daisy chained from the Agetec board, maybe?)
Basically, itāll work for DC if plugged into a DC, or i could power up the 360 PCB using the Xbox button⦠theoretically allowing me to use one stick on the two systems simultaneously (ā¦thatās not my reasoning for it, just as an example of the logistics of it in me head).
Or is this just a BS pipe dream?
Ran into a little trouble swapping out the buttons on my HRAP VX-SA. These quick-disconnects couldnāt be further from quick, in fact Iām beginning to think that these things might be glued on.
Iāve tried gently wiggling them off with a flathead and then I tried some firm pulling with pliers but its a no go. Any suggestions? Or am I missing something that Hori does different with their QDs than MadCatz?
I canāt break these cuffs =/
As long as you get the late version wireless 360 controller, which is common ground, except in the triggers, but you will have to connect ground and VCC like a normal dual mod. Whenever you are powering it from the battery, you will have to power both the Agetec and 360 PCBs, else some weird things will happen.
You would have them āboth simultaneously working,ā but that is like any other dual mod. In any dual mod, both PCBs are putting out their respective data for both systems, but only one is plugged in. When sharing a USB cord for 360/PS3, either a PCB (Imp, ChImp, DualStrike, MasterStrike, etc.), or DPDT switch are used to change which data wires in the USB are going to which systems. But if you didnāt have a PCB or DPDT switch, you would have two USB cords.
However, with two cords, you run the real risk if both are plugged in to draw much more current than is intended and cause some serious damage to PCBs or game consoles, so you may want to look into a switch for your battery to ensure that you arenāt receiving both power from the dreamcast and battery at the same time on your PCBs.
hi guys
quick question:
is hard-button-mapping possible with the sixaxis pad
for example when i press R1, 1+4 is pressed
can i just solder the two buttons to only one button
or can this damage the pcb?!?!
You can connect more than one Button together, yes.
VS PinkĀ® Lover.
ps3 controller
I want to mod a sixaxis controller so I can disable the x-axis on the left stick. Is there somewhere i can see how to do this?
Looking for a dust washer that will cover a little better than what I got when Iām using a 7-11 anodized sleve on my JLF shaft⦠I think JDM said something about Seimitsu LS-32 Dust Washer being a better fit than the regular JLF dustwasher but can anyone confirm this?
Posted in the wrong thread earlier, but I need to know how to mod an Xbox 360 wireless (hori tekken special edition) to work on wire. Any idea?
Soā¦noticed part of artwork on stick was peeling up -> OCD -> Superglued that summbitch back down -> Small amount of glue got on case (plastic) -> ??? Anything that will remove a small amount of Loctite brand SuperGlue w/out destroying plastic?
Hmm, thatās a good question. I should have looked, I just had the damn thing open to fix the balltop. I donāt recall seeing data+/- spots on it⦠Iāll have to take a look.
Hi guys, quick question.
Im doing a custom stick for MK exclusively, I will post pics soon.
I have it already wired with 2 madcatz old pads (the white ones, common ground) and it works perfectly either on my Xbox 360 (umk3, mkvsdc and future mk9) and on my PC with all the emulation that there is.
I want to go bigger and want it to be compatible with my N64 (mkt, mk4, etc) and with my Gamecube controller (mkda, mkd, mka on wii).
Question is:
Using this (I already have it in the stick very secure and its currently holding the Xbox 360 Madcatz pcb wires):

And knowing that both my N64 and GC controllers I have are common ground too, can I just wire them to that multi-terminal and have sucess? it will not interfere with the signal of the other pcbs? (obviously they will be unplugged when playing any console).
thx in advance guys!
Anything yet?
Absolutely. As long as they are common ground, you can mod it with as many of those PCBs as youād like. Just donāt pull a stupid and give more than one board power at a time. That will draw a lot of current and cause a lot of problems for your PCBs. But it is the same as any other dual mod, only youāll be doing it two times, once for N64, once for GameCube.
Connect ground to ground. Connect VCC (Power) to VCC. COnnect the signal wires of corresponding inputs together (Connect A from 360 to A of N64 to A of GCN)
They wonāt mess with each other. Actually, what will happen is that all three systems will be outputting the data to their respective systems, but since you can only have one plugged in at any time, the other two systems will go to nothing. It wonāt interfere with your current PCB, so long as your PCBs are all common ground, and assuming you connect everything properly.
thank you my friend, working on it. I will post it as a worklog but there is nothing new or of interest since its one of my first sticks. Thx for the input!
EDIT: Sadly yes there are troubles, the Xbox 360 madcatz pad does āsomethingā when its unplugged or at least it receives power from the GC or N64 and causes random button presses on both N64 and GC.
Also when I pug the Xbox 360 USB the pause button is also activated randomly⦠=(
I will have to use a few cable harness or even a vga male/female and plug/unplug when neededā¦
really fast question here, been searching for like 15 minutes to no availā¦
what sized hex key do i need to open up my TE? Akuma001 told me over the weekend and like an idiot i didnāt write it downā¦
