Everyone knows me as a laid back person who gives everyone the benefit… As of late I havenft said much about the state of Reno’s gaming scene… until now…

Ok here I goc
First Ifm very appreciative of how Renofs gaming has grownc more and more players are joining up and trying to play games competitivelyc which obviously means that each individual needs to learn the basics of the game they chose to playc what Ifm starting to find out is that not very many players seem to know the basicsc They may claim to but in all honesty they donftc and here are my reasonsc
The learning curve in a fighting gamec starts out slowc then increases tremendously then eventually it plateaus outc what I mean by thisc is when anyone picks up a fighting gamec u first need to learn the basics and that takes a while but once u doc it is easy to pick up new concepts and implement them in your gamec eventually when u plateau outc you become one of the elite players and u make it to the final 8 at Evolutionc
Here is my problem with Renofs players as of nowc every gtoph Reno player x-copy what they see in videos and uses them in their game play yet they have no clue what they saw and why that player did itc
Now Ifm sure I just made every Reno player hit the reply button trying to say noc noc thatfs not truec Well hear me outc
If u know the basics of the game u playc and u know the character u playc then wouldnft u agree that if someone just decides to pick up a character and starts learning that character after a couple of hrs that he still should not be able to beat your main character consistently or any character that u have put considerable amount of time into themc
I doc I think if JP decides to play three brand new characters in CvS2 and play them against my real teamc that JP would not win a game for a very long time until he really knew the charactersc then if you guys agree with that thenc
Why do u guys consistently lose to brand new characters that me or JP or Paul picks outc i.e.: Me- Johnny/Axl/Chipp/Baiken JP- Dizzy/Chipp/Anji/Pot/etcc Paul-Eddie/Solc
If u say u know the basics then u should have not problems in adapting and beating my couple of hours old Chippc or Paulfs couple of hours old Eddiec or JPfs couple of hours old Dizzyc vs. your main characterc That doesnft make sensec and hence why I say that Reno seriously needs to look at themselves and wonder how good they really arec
This past tournament was a prime example of what I meanc Andrie who everyone knows do not play much GGXX compared to other players started from the losers bracket and ended up taking 3rdc Sure anyone can say oh that was a lucky breakc but look at whom Andrie beatc Paul and Chris (who many of u consider as the best player in Reno)c Sure u guys can say well Andrie got luckyc this was the first time that has ever happenedc but I am saying is that, that should NEVER HAPPENc if u know your basics and u know your characterc you should never lose to a person who is not at the same level as you arec plain and simple
Same goes with JC losing to Nick C. c obviously Nick is still learning his character and is far from saying hefs one of the best in Renoc and yet he has beaten the geliteh players with May on many occasionc WHY?c did the GODfs of GGXX come to Andrie and Nick and told them gthe wayhc Course notc Andrie and Nick played SMART and the geliteh Reno players do not know their characters and basicsc
WOWc such bold statements coming from a guy that hasnft won a GGXX tourney since the first onec Youfre rightc but Ifve been in the competitive scene for 15 yearsc and Ifve picked up one or two thingsc and I feel Ifm kinda an expert in this field of gamingc
And if you still donft believe what Ifm saying thenc earlier today me and JP were trying to figure out how many total gaming hours I have put into GGXXc answer between 70-75 TOTAL hours from the day SRK announced Evolution (5-1-03) till yesterdayc then we decided on how many hours we felt Paul and some other players have played thus farc and we came to the conclusion anywhere between 250-300+ hrsc what does that meanc that the geliteh Reno players have put in between 3-4x as many hours that I havec yet I am still competitive among the Reno gelite.h Lets go one step furtherc Yesterday I was able to beat almost everyone several time w/ my couple of hours old Chippc Lets compare it to how many hours Paul has played Solc Paul has played Sol maybe 10x more than I have played Chipp yetc I was able to beat him several timesc same goes vs. JCfs Testamentc
So how does Reno fix itc I donft knowc individuals must look at themselves and try to figure out on their own and practice harder c they must learn game play rather than combosc they need to learn how to play the game rather than mashc they need to stop making excuses and rather learn from their mistake and improve their gamec
