I hope I didn’t disappoint anyone with my rushdown Dizzy technique considering that I’m using my own gameplay style on my own without seeing any of the GGXX vids or learning from other Dizzy players. Well actually I’m the only GGXX player in Vacaville so basically I had to do everything by scratch.
I’ll be back at Atlantis tomorrow evening and hopefully I’ll see ya guys tomorrow as well. I’ll mostly be playing Dizzy again and see if I can get any better on connecting my rushdown technique including the corner air combo launcher but I’m having a lot of problems with the 360 sticks to get the air bubble out after the 2nd air HS. Ah well I did enjoy myself but I still believe that I’m not even close to an actual tournament player likewise. In the end that’s how I’ve always felt in each tournament that I have entered so far.
GG’s to everyone last night, Paul you’re a great player and you had me on edge especially after you perfected me the last round in the match that sent me to losers. I’d say the odds were definitly with you when we went into the finals, I was a set down and your Faust had taken me last tourney and just perfected me a minute ago :eek: I tried with Baiken once, lost, and then prepared for the final matches with my Potemkin. I still don’t know how I pulled it off, I think you just got uptight, I just kept in my mind I had nothing to lose either you would win and I would be happy for you or I would win and of course that makes you happy to. I have your winnings to give you and I didn’t get a chance to shake your hand and tell you GG’s.
JP your Baiken and Sol as always are a tough match for me(as well as every other character you play), I thought you might bring out Chip and that had me scared since I didn’t know what to do against that leaf grab setup, GG’s as always.
Yushiro, your company was much welcomed and you played very well in my opinion, not just your Dizzy but your other characters as well. Sorry I couldn’t stay and play more, I was pretty tired and my nerves were shot from the finals.
JC I will fix your stick today and hopefully get it back to you today as well, also remember to always keep your hopes up until a match is over, it’s natural to be dissapointed when you lose but while you still have a chance play your hardest, you’ll also feel better if you lose that way than just mentally giving up, your opponent can also see that and use it to their advantage.
First local tourney perfect award goes to Paul for perfecting my Potemkin in tourney play with Faust, damn I just watched those words scroll across the screen and then I heard the game say Perfect and I thought to myself damn nobody’s gonna let me forget this one for a while.
Tomorrow sounds good for a tourney…I like free tourney’s better anyway…
Paul…give me a call sometime before it gets too late because I’d like to get some more practice in…I’m gonna work on my stick tonig…eh…this morning and hopefully you can bring yours down to my place for some practice matches before the tourney…

Grudge againts me? Why? I thought you and everyone else here figured my Baiken out already? I may bring out Chipp and I’m not off on Tuesday (due to some tourney called 2nd stage this weekend). But I don’t care. We’ll see if I can go, if not you already know the reason why. Someone call Andrei too, damn bastard didn’t go this weekend, and he damn well knows there was a tourney :(. The Rurouni would be a decent nickname on my part hehe. We had some great GGXX matches up at Reno and honestly I have high hopes for the Reno crew for GGXX at Evolution. My real name is Chris but I figured that we had enough Chris’s. I saw a lot of good things from the Reno crew on GGXX espiecally on Baiken, Faust, and Potemkin.
JC: Thanks for letting me stay at your place for awhile. Your Testament is good IMO and it kept me on my toes everytime I played against your testament. I’ll be going back to playing Testament as well so that way the Fairfield Tilt players have a good idea of how Testament plays alongside with improving my Eddie, Dizzy further. That’s the 2nd time that I’ve been perfected twice in a tourney matchup :lol: The other time was on SCII against a Nightmare player but somehow I was able to pull it back together. Felt a sense of deja vu repeat all over again when that happened or just blind luck.
Anyways thank you for everything guys. I had a great time and I have a good feeling that Team Reno will do well at SVGL and at Evolution. I will be appearing at Reno from time to time. I’ll let ya guys know the next time that I come down once more.
P.S. The third figure was the Dust color of Dizzy. There was no way I was giving up that one hehe.
Yeah, Jc with the double perfect on yushiro, to lose the match due to lack of anger management! Mucho Props to Chris for yet another tourney under his belt/potemkin wrist bands and props to yush for the comeback and a half. Paul you get no props you get enough from Rob and JP bwahahahahaha

Rob: I believe I can give you some advice on some effective Tactics for Eddie, espiecally when you have them trapped in the corner. S, f+P is a much better corner pressure then just the far slash mainly because you can keep up the pressure with the wheel all at once and if you do manage to connect with that kind of setup you can either do a quick c.P into command grab, f+k then command grab, or just go for the Dust launcher combo afterwards.
if you catch with the command grab against an opponent in the corner and you still have your buddy after throwing out at least two wheels then during the half of the grab frame have him right where the opponent is going to fall down and go for the HS drill mine for the mid, low unblockable setup. Then after the setup go for the hcf-u+S tiger motion so that way it comes out faster making sure that you false roman cancel the 2nd hit. Afterwards you can proceed with an air combo or just do c+HS into overdrive for some meaty damage.
Eddies air overdrive does good damage only in the open field during an air combo. It’s best done after j.K, j.HS so that way it will connect very nicely. My dust combo for Eddie is just all about damage and I only have one good combo after the dust for Eddie. Dust, u/f+D, u/f+D, j.kick, j.HS, air overdrive.
Hope this helps out a bit and another note to add. Try false roman canceling the d, d, slash or HS drills espiecally if you manage to land a c.S, s.HS, d, d+S combo mainly because you can get an air combo off of s.P after a frc drill (hint) or even better against the corner but I haven’t tried it…I’ll let ya guys know if it does work.

JC I see that you put my comment in your signature, that’s an honor, but I was speaking the truth, I’ve seen matches turn around so quick from round to round it’s crazy. You never know who could come out on top, that makes the game fun to watch.
As for Evo I can’t wait either, my goal is a step up from last year’s performance, don’t get double eliminated by any means possible!
Thanks. Ah your welcome I figured that the GGXX figures were a nice addition to the prize on the tournament. No doubt I’ll be coming back soon. I’ll probably play a bit of Testament the next time.
JC: Just watched Mirage of Blaze and that was flat out horrible anime that I’ve seen in a long time. I’m considering using the CD as a frisbee or something but everything about it is just as bad as the reviews say. :lol:

JC I actually say “you fuggin Cog Sugga” I guess I was trying to sound like a chicago gangster or something, it started when Paul beat me at Atlantis and was something random I said. Those matches last night should never be shown to anyone unless they want to automatically turn into a scrub, kind of like looking Medusa in the eyes and turning into stone, they were that :lame:
p.s. I also fixed my stick, I removed the Xbox board and everything worked fine. There’s a lot more room in there and it even feels lighter.
Paul I see that you put my comment about the super scrub opera matches in your sig, riot stomps own, I try not to be to predictable with them, that’s why I only did 4 in a row and as far as me quitting lag fighter, I still have another stick compatible for xbox live and I was playing dizzam dizzog tonight and even he dropped on me :eek:
