About time.... (Reno thread)

Well, I made the invitation to Paul and Chris earlier this evening (crap…it’s already 5:00 AM the next day?)…uhh…

Well, anyways…I thought I’d hand out the invitation to the Reno players that my house is almost always open as a free arcade…as much as I enjoy sitting down at an arcade cabinet and playing on a full size machine I just can’t justify spending money (okay…using up precious free tokens) on games that are falling apart…I know everybody has their work cut out for them over there at the Atlantis, but until everything gets repaired I’d just rather hold on to my tokens and play at home…

Unlike Rob, I have hardly any fighting games and no joysticks (yet) but we can try and make arrangements for getting games over here…on the up-side, I have the exact same apartment design as Rob but have lots more furniture, so there’s plenty of room for everyone to lounge about…the other plus is that I’m an unemployed bitch so my schedule is usually pretty open…

I really want to get a lot of GGXX practice in before EVO so give me a call whenever you want a match…

I think everyone knows where I live (if not I live in the same complex as Rob) but if you want to give me a call (NEVER BEFORE NOON!!!) to let me know your coming the number is 825-2436…

yeah hey chris can you fix my douche bag stick? 2 of the wires broke from the chip because of undisclosed reasons like hamsters bum rushing my home and ransacing nothing but my stick…or i might have complained like a bitch to much about it and it just said “you know what jc, you suck , just stop playing” and broke itself =-/ ill pay you chris pay you much moneys mucho moneys mega pwnage moneys like 5 dollas and wow mtv is boring at 4 in the morning…weeeeee off to sleepyland waves goodbye

I swear, seriously, they just need to buy new sticks. That’s the only solution that I see here. As for Nick’s place, I’ll try and give you a call around 12:01 (that’s exactly 1 minute after noon). LOL j/k, i’m just bored here at work and i’m all alone. Anyway, I want to get a Slayer/Ky/Sol and Baiken cards when we get to evo :), and a black one too boot afterwards :).

I can fix your stick JC, no charge, I just need to get my soldering iron back from Nick. And you say that 2 wires came disconnected from the board itself? That’s pretty odd for a Mas stick, how’d you manage to do that? Do you play with the back on or do you leave it open? Anyways I should be able to fix it if the 2 wires just came disconnected, to do something like that though I’m hoping there was no damage to the board itself which I couldn’t do anything about. Could you do me a favor though and stop by radioshack if you can and get a radioshack 15-30 watt soldering iron tip. They cost maybe 3 bucks at the most and I really need one and I usually get home when they are closed. I’ll get together with you Paul and whoever on friday, gotta go to work later.

Is Andre going to EVO? If so somebody has got to tell him about Mitsurugi’s k~B2 and 1B2 modified recovery on console. And the advancing and retreating guard stuff, and 2_8~G. I dunno how much if at all he gets online or checks sc.com but if the tourney is on console he should know that stuff.

Yeah i was looking at that on comedy central…kinda looked funny except for the whole fact that im damn sure it wasnt filmed anywhere in a 100mile radius of reno let alone nevada…i mean come on in the commercial there is more grass then sagebrush…o_0

Hey JC, if you give me your stick tonight I should be able to fix it by tommorrow. You didn’t make it to Nick’s last night because I heard you got into an accident, hope everything’s alright. Yeah i cant come tonight guys…having a little thing out my house. But Chris ill bring in before the tourney tomorrow and and bring the sodering iron. Then you can fix it at your own leisure.

Sorry for not making it down to the arcade on friday guys, I planned on taking a nap which turned into an 11 hour slumber and I even slept through your call Paul. It’s just work and the heat drains so much more energy out of me, even if it had been 5 degrees cooler it makes a big difference when you’re in the sun all day. Anyways I guess I’m trying to get out my guilt for not practicing more, but damn I get tired and I always make the tourney’s no matter what and Evolution will be awesome regardless, can’t wait to see Daigo for the first time and all the top US players again. Dang, well you really didn’t miss much Chris, after Rob got booted out of the machine (10 wins), everyone decided to mess around. I think I started the random select last night (/shrug). Anyway, Yushiro is our guest this evening, hopefully he makes it in time for the tourney :).

P.S. How’s this for a bitching day, I woke up at 8:00am, got ready to go to work in Sparks, drove there, and at the same time, I found out i have to work in Carson?? BAAADDDD DAY!!!. Anyway, now I’m down here in Carson, oh well, at least I’ll try and wake myself up for that 30mins drive back up to Reno :(.

So like how did you determine the scores?? I only went to 4 tourney’s (we only had 4 anyway :p), 3 2nd place finishes and 1 1st place, Rob went on 3, that’s 1 1st place, and 1 4th and 5th right, you went from 1 2nd, 2 3rd and 1 5th, JC being 4th twice and 5th twice from what I remember Chris getting 2 1st, 2 3rd, NIck having 1 3rd and 3 5th, Andrei is a late commer and only came to 3 tourneys, all of which he placed 5th, and Mike/Nick C.?? 3 tourney’s all of which only had a few points since we only have like 10 on average nowadays, it would look like this since it should be 450 for the first since we only had 9, then 500 for the second, 500 for the third and then 1000 for the last week, thats a total of 2450 but with every week you take out 125 (I think), that’s 125*4=500, so technically i have 1950, Chris would have (113 for 4th, 1000, 1000, 250 for the last one)=2363, take off 500, and he’s at 1863 and You, having the scores (57 for 5th, 250, 250, 500) is 1057 -500 cause of the 4 weeks=557, and Rob’s (900, 113, 57) 1070 - 500=570 :), so techincally, he’s still 3rd in rankings, if you think about it. Sorry, if you just think about it, that’s how the scores should look like.

P.S. I’m bored, and I just remembered, they adjusted the - points per week to something (and I think it was 125), even with Robin not being here cause of MWC, he’s still up there, and if we count what he got in MWC, he’ll prolly have more really, lets see, add in 176 after taking out that 500, he’s at 746 :). And since I have nothing better to do, edit to the rakings

Chris=1863
Robin=570 (with 746 pending)
Paul=557
and then the rest (sorry I actually got tired of figuring things out
