So basically Fubarduck has come to the conclusion that 360 is about as arcade perfect as it’ll get speed wise. Which means 360 version it is for offline tourneys. Especially since Mr.Wiz pretty much shot down 3S being at Evo again we don’t have to worry about a ton of discrepancies as to which system to play on. Long as PS3 controller users can find a converter or something we’ll be good to go.
I still like my free PSN GGPO and not having to take up resources on my PC just to play 3S online.
does “game mode” simply turn off all processing that the TV tries to do? if not, i would disable all processing settings on your TV (noise reduction, deblocking, any sort of enhancements, etc etc etc)… let the image come through as it was meant to come through without the TV touching it.
well i’m not sure how it can be the game if others and myself don’t notice it. there’s a possibility that others and myself are accustomed to a small amount of delay, but for it to be so terrible that people are getting all up in arms about it gives me pause. furthermore, derek neal posted in another thread that the time between the game registering the button input and the time the game outputs the changed state is less than 1 frame. so anything outside that needs to be looked at. you’re using a CRT, but are u absolutely sure it’s not your stick or something? for example, i have a ps2 controller with a usb adapter, and it runs perfectly on my pc because i’ve adjusted the usb polling rate, but it runs like shit on my ps3. ::shrug::
I’m here. southpaw_srk on EU PSN, just add me and we’ll play. I’m eager to get games in! Everyone else feel free to add me as well if you’re from Europe.
If you didn’t notice, everyone has a bad record with multi-platform releases on PS3. Expecting both versions to be identical is ridiculous. The consoles are very different. It’s unfortunate for PS3 owners that they have to put up with all this crap but blame sony first and foremost. PS3 has some incredible exclusive titles, but anything multi-platform give me 360 or PC by far.
How many times do people touting this claim have to be pointed to the incredibly obvious and closely related example of Tekken 6? The consoles are very different, but Namco laid down the money and time to make them far closer to identical than anything Capcom has done. And it is not ridiculous–it should be the new standard, but unfortunately developers are ignoring it and making garbage excuses. Then for some reason, instead of going apeshit and demanding change be made, the community just shrugs and lets this garbage help to perpetuate a stupid “console war.” And no, blaming Sony is not a valid excuse, though their next console should be easier to work with for developers. But the point is that Capcom are taking the cheap way out, and people like you being okay with it is bad for the community.
Oh dude don’t get me wrong I think it’d be great if everything were equal console to console but that just isn’t how things are
Unfortunately PS3 often gets the shit end of the stick due to development issues working on that system vs the 360. It’s a shame. I didn’t know Tekken 6 was so unique in that way. This isn’t a console war thing, it’s just a fact that PS3, 8/10 times gets the crappier version which is really ridiculous. I don’t want to get into console vs console but I agree with you. I’m just stating that it seems to be the norm that the PS3 version is in some way inferior and that it sucks.
I’ve been playing 3SO on a 40" Samsung HD LCD TV that I bought back in 2005 and it’s pretty much perfect. I can do combos just fine, on and offline. Completed some character trials yesterday. This must be a pretty limited problem if my TV can deal with it fine.
short of the 60fps cam and the evo monitor, i’ve got a solid setup for this. i do have access to evo monitors though, and i’m using a panasonic commercial plasma as my main display, which is as good, if not better, than the evo monitors.
i really wish there was a 16:10 evo monitor so i could have it for multiple uses.
