Can some please explain that awesome setup that he was using to grab using the tornado throw?.

Seemed like he was using different ways… Ranging from a max range cr.lp (could’ve been cr.mp), forward + mk, throw or a standing lk, forward + mk, throw. Basically your quick jabs and kicks at max range make it pretty safe to do forward + mk. Anything you see before the forward + mk is basically a standard Abel block string (IE cr.lk, cr.lp, cr.lp, st.lk, forward + mk) which he either performs fully or cuts short to keep them guessing.

anyway…
so ive been away from the game for like 3 weeks now and then today while i was at the cinema(gone to watch sf legend of chun li, which sucked so bad that its good btw) I saw a shop’s advertising a tournament and without thinking twice i signed up. Its tomorrow and I really dont have any practice haha but I have some upper compared to the others regarding experience probably but then again, rusty is rusty.
The tourney is going to be played on ps3 and the main prize is a brand new ps3… My only problem is, the default controller’s the joypad. Of course you can bring a joystick if you have one, but I dont have a ps3 so I was thinkin should I buy a stick just for this event… The alternative is asking other players who have a stick whether may i use theirs during my matches but I’m not really sure about that… Sorry to be long winded but what i wanted to ask’s really, how hard/easy it is to play abel using the joypad?(in this case, normal ps3 pad)
any tips for the tourney? (mindset wise etc, cant really do nothing with the execution since ive really had zero practice except just now i played a Ryu and nearly won if I didnt screw up an ultra lol)

It was a good match. First round was very solid, that balrog player had no idea how to recover his momentum. One problem I saw was you would do unsafe jump ins. That is, just jumping it for the heck of it while balrog is obviously charging. If balrog is crouching, best to figure out a different way in.

good match but that balrog really had no idea how to play balrog, he didnt down fierce any of your jump ins, he didnt do any headbutt combos, he didnt do much heh. good job though you played it nicely for the most part. also if he blocks your cr.fp cancel with something cuz he can punish but that guy didnt know how too.

why do you use ex falling sky? your just wasting meter. why dont you use fierce falling sky?
ex version does the same amount of damage as fierce but fierce you gain meter and you do more stun damage

I’m using an xbox controller. I want to do just Fierce falling sky but it uses Ex for some reason. I might have to check up on the controls I might have it set up for all 3 punches on that button lol.
and the random EX falling skies in the distance most of the time I just want do COD but I HATE using a controller. I’m so much better on a stick.
