Nice playing strider. You looked a bit rusty in the first couple vids but started getting your timing back as the vids went on.
One thing I would suggest you stop trying in the balrog match is ex wheel kick. Out of all the times you tried it, it only got both hits once, and it’s fireball invulnerability is useless against Balrog. You would be better off using the meter for ex TT versus his dash punches. Didn’t see you throw any of those.
balrog, work on trying to tech throws. some balrogs i have played love doing this and you gotta be ready for it. also blocked headbutts punish with a cr.fp instead since you cando more damage, either falling sky or ultra. didnt really watch any besides the first one and the sagat. the sagat either sucks or played super shitty.

Yes, you should mix up some spartan kicks (f+mk) plus light punches and/or kicks into your game but you have some pretty solid gameplay everywhere else. Also maybe use the mix ups in with your cross ups as able but overall not bad. Off topic but I so wish i had a nice projector like that. I would play on my wall all day.
Thanks for the comment. Ya, I’ve played 2 or 3 times since this video was taken and I’ve become really comfortable using f.mk and jab strings. I’m even getting used to hit confirming f.mk to decide whether to do s.fp or continue with jabs or throw or TT. That 1 frame link is seriously not intimidating anymore after getting p-linking down.
I did it 4 or 5 times in the 2 hrs I played at my local hangout on wednesday, even landing f.mk -> dash -> s.fp -> cod -> fadc -> c.fp -> ultra to finish my last match. The f.mk was a counter hit tho, so it was easier than 1 frame, but i was still very happy to work it into a real match. No vids from that day though because I had other plans that night and had to leave early, so didn’t bring my camera. Expect to see vids of it in action this week tho!

i wish i could say the same, that 1 framer always stuffs me up. i’ve tried plinking but i get it more times while trying to time it rather than plinking, maybe i just need more practice. anyways good work and grats on the wins.
I almost didn’t bother with plinking too, but my friend Ricky (srk name is Infil) showed me it in action and how often he was landing it when using it, I just had to learn it. It really isn’t too hard to put into your game. It’s just tapping an additional button. Go to training and just practice. Just watch for when the other character stops moving. Also, remember that you actually have to do it early if the guy is in the corner. Same goes with the fadc c.fp.
Also, don’t worry if you’re not hitting it in online matches. Random varying lag with random dropped packets on top that. You really can’t guarantee anything in that environment. Just try to work it into your game offline.

Nice playing Juicebox, but you really shouldn’t have bothered with the hype moves when you land the ultra. I have a feeling it looked a lot cooler in your head than it did in reality. Haha. :bgrin:
Also, why bother going for the c.fp mixups if you weren’t going to commit to it or punish srk on block? You tried it the first time and got srk’d out. Then you blocked the srk the 2nd time but didn’t punish. Maybe you were just thinking ahead but not quite far enough in the heat of the moment. But if you’re mixup involves you having to block something, I find it better to just go for the falling sky.

Only troubles I’m having are reacting in time to jump in’s and input mistakes on the xbox dpad (thing is god awful, I miss f+mk often and end up jumping or just do a normal mk)

Joe is pretty well known and he uses Sagat which everyone believes to be tough for any member of the cast, hopped in there with no fear and won WHILE SHOWBOATING. I was excited as fuck, Juicebox keep doing what you’re doing.
