Not only is it boring but if you play in person and then your forced to play online all the time you’ll quickly become sick of the bullshit that is SF4 net code lol
nah im just not having as much fun playing sf4 as when i first started. i wont retire but right now im a tthe point where i dont play as much. i mean i dont care if i suck or w/e since imho im pretty bad haha. i just like to play games for fun and fun for me is at high caliber or w/e. i dont care where i place or w/e obviously i wanna do good but when it really comes down to it i dont care too much. i find myself playing more 3s than sf4 when i go to the arcade.
online can make you wanna quit, especially since abel doesn’t get any lag cheese benefits.

Shiro laying the smackdown on Daigo. Very nice.
already posted before. page 48 post #1193
First two videos were damn near unwatchable. In the second one he hit EX CoD twice and just absolutely refused to follow through with it for no reason. In both, besides a couple of dash in TTs, there was no real offense.
The third was more interesting, by a quite a bit, but I don’t understand some of the tactics used. Why bother FADCing st.fp instead of just supering after the second hit?
The fourth was great to watch. Though, I don’t understand the obsession with only using meter for FADCing.
I got no complaints about the 5th or 6th.
Not trying to be a pain but if the videos aren’t here for discussion then what are they here for, amirite?
nah you’re not being a pain
i need to use more dash in TTs, looks hella cool. lol
That’s exactly why I mash out the last two hits of CoD, well double tap would be the appropriate term because I usually end up with punch pressed 5/6x. People call noob but fuck it, might as well make it a sure thing.
Looks like he was baiting a reversal tiger upper… besides he didn’t even have enough stock for a super that would habe been block anyway. If you’re refering to 1:56-1:57
Gotta love Shiro’s use of the jump-in TT it’s stupidly high risk but man it’s sweet when they fall for it. It should be called “The Shiro.” When playing against the CPU on console “the Shiro” works like a lariat on most characters because they will eat one after another haha
Lands it 3 in a row in rd. 1 on this dictator lol

I dont think thats the problem, mashing CoD aint a very good idea anyways. I’m not saying its n00bish or anything but its best to be able to control the CoD instead of mashing because it’ll only turn into a bad habit. If the first hit’s blocked and you’re too used to mashing, you’re gonna get punished real bad. At least if the first hit is blocked you can follow with TT or block (though you still can be punished off of that blocked first hit but hey its the lesser evil lol)
I dont think he’s referring to 1:56 since that st.hp was blocked(plus not enough meter for super). Its the one at 1:10, i think he just made an error there. He messed up there, dont think its intentional.
edited: yeah if you watched carefully, he didnt have enough for super until that st.hp hits, maybe he didnt catch that in time to cancel the st.hp into super.
No, lol. I’m not suggesting to just bust into supers on blocking opponents.
1:09
F.mk dash, Close st.fp, dash cancel, tt. Seems like a complete waste.
Why not cancel the last hit into Super? Probably wouldn’t have killed him there but seems like a better use of meter than just TTing if you’re going for both hits of the st.fp.
Though, it would have made the most sense to first hit st.fp, cod, dash cancel, cr.fp, ultra ftw.
Edit: Yeah, I see now that it was the first hit that gave him the meter, good call, but canceling to TT is still silly if he could have made an Ultra out of it.
That was obviously a mistake. There is absolutely zero good reason to do that. I know I get that sometimes, when I try to do Fierce xx CoD xx FADC -> w/e. Sometimes the CoD doesn’t come out, and I don’t differentiate between the second hit of s. FP, and the CoD that I wanted in time ,and I focus out the Fierce instead. That’s what happened in that video. It’s pretty obvious.
As for Shiro not following up on his EX CoD’s, I can explain that too.
Shiro’s not a scrub. Since he’s not a scrub, he doesn’t do scrub shit. I’m assuming he treats EX CoD much like I do… it’s an OK move, but nothing to go crazy over. If I throw out EX CoD, and I don’t blow through a move with it, I usually don’t follow it with anything. It’s way too unsafe to do CoD follow-ups, unless your shit hit. Sometimes, I can hit-confirm the CoD, and keep going. Other times I can’t. Looks the same for Shiro. I see one time he did EX CoD-> FADC-> whiff TT. I do that sometimes too. That whole string is just a set-up to land the grab. You use EX CoD because it’s a relatively safe way to close distance. If you blow through a move, you get a big combo. If not, you go for the grab. Sometimes the CoD hits, despite not going through anything, and again, it’s harder to react to that, and by the time I react sometimes, I’ve already started my motion for the grab. Since SF4 stores motions for so fucking long, it’s really hard to adjust after that point a lot of times.
As for the “obsession with only using meter for FADC”, unless you get a clear opportunity to super, I, personally, don’t think Abel’s meter is good for much else besides FADC. I’ve made this argument before. A lot of guys go crazy with his EX’s… they’re really not that good past low/mid-level play. Way to punishable. Namemeso is a great player (he was a B/B+ level CvS2 player… which, IMO, is excellent). Super safe. AC and Shiro weren’t gonna get away with a bunch of bullshit against him, and they knew it. No need to even attempt it.
Haha tell me about it.
I still double tap the other two hits though, it’s more controlled now because I kind of delay it so I can stop on block.
When I first started Abeling I had the tendency to follow all the way through even on block because I was mad mashy. Sometimes I do it intentionally even though it’s a big no no but it’s mostly due to people online not knowing how to block the second hit and sucking ass at reversals and getting caught in the second or third hit that ingrained that habit into me for a short period…
I have since stopped playing online and turned focus on training moding it up, Playing Ironfist and Somuchdamage’s Sagats in one session at AI can lower low self esteems pretty quickly haha I almost got somuchdamage with the cr. mpxxCoDxxFADCxxCr. FP, Ultra but ended up doing a falling sky after fadc, I was like FUCK!
Damn that is a good ass recovery to a fuck up if I could say so myself.
I’m not saying that FADCing to ultra is a bad use of meter but I see a lot of videos where people exclusively use meter to dash cancel and do damn near nothing with it most of the time. It’s silly.
Suppering is easy and does a good amount of damage. Since you can supper off the first hit of CoD anytime you could cancel CoD to ultra you could super if you don’t have the ultra hanging out. If step kick and link st.fp you can super after the second hit. If you cross up and st.fp you can super off the second hit.
I’m not suggesting that going for the super is the only use for meter, just that FADCing isn’t either.
wow 1st Mago now Ojisan Boy

damn, nice. I need to learn to do that c.mk counterpoke into CoD fadc shenanigans. Though that crumple into skyfall is lulz.
wow that was some crazy good stuff my OjisanBoy
wow almost 70k BP already. How much SF do these guys play?
Mad counter poking. I’m assuming that c.forward hit during the recovery frames? Wonder if it’ll work against Chun’s normal pokes.
