Video #2 here shows that while Gief is a hard match up for us (as he is for everybody), patience and his own very simple inventory of moves will slowly be the end of him as they make him extremely predictable. I think other match-ups will soon begin to take over from 'Gief as the one to be worried about.

a couple of casual matches where abel takes on E.Honda
i just watched the first one, i dont get why during the end of the last round that the abel player just rolled in his face. honda obviously punished it with a headbutt why would he do it again ftl. second video he was stupid in the last round again and did ex wheel kick 3 times in a row when he shouldve (or i wouldve) at least saved 2 bars to fadc into ultra combos. if he managed to be more patient/smart and wait for an opportunity for the combo he wouldve won.
I haven’t had a chance to play honda yet but i have to ask…
If you were to bait honda into doing a long range headbutt, possibly by starting to FA and dashing backwards, then immidiately used your ultra. Would your ultra connect?
From my experience, no. Abel’s easily hit out of his ultra. If you just do a random ultra out of nowhere, the other player can just srk you out of it or throw a random move to knock you out of it (provided it’s fast enough).
If Honda is doing a headbutt towards you, that headbutt’s gonna win. Same for Blanka.
acutally it might be the same as blanka as in if blanka does blanka ball towards you and u ultra you go through him. not sure if its the same with honda but thats what happens with blanka. if they did a low attack before you did ultra u lose. any low attack beats his ultra since he isnt invul waist down. i think that you can ultra the headbutt, illt ry it next time i play cpu or something since there arent really any honda players where i play.
Well the HardcoreGamer SF4 counter attack charts says that Honda’s headbut can be punished by an Ultra or an EX Rekka. Much the same as a Blanka ball can be punished with an Ultra.
So thats a yes.

What’s your experience with doing f+mk, dash, d+hp (rekka). Has it be ticked out of if the d+hp was double-tapped?
I’ve tried to reversal Honda’s lp headbutt once, but I didn’t get it out. Maybe my timing was wrong? I’ve done it before on his HP headbutt on one player.
What Kajiki meant was if the headbutt was still in the air and you ultra’d, not after a hit/block.
What’s d+hp (rekka) supposed to mean? o_o
Only thing that should work into rekka should be close standing hp xx rekka.
Reversal Ultra after Honda’s headbutt should always work. You just gotta practice it up.
Down + HP, or elbow, into an optional REKKA.
Ah, it’s not a combo. Too much time inbetween the dash cancel and the cr.HP.
cr.HP (cancel 1st hit) xx Rekka would combo though.
