haha i know what you mean kraiden, seeing someone who is supposed to be the best abel lose is quite distracting, you wish that he would win every match and be like YA hella kick ass im gonna be like him.
But you also gotta remember everyone loses in this game. Shit look at some of daigos vids, he loses quite a few of them as well, same with iyo he lost with shiro in this! and even j.wong loses too.
As much as i want to see Shiro kick everyones ass, its just not gonna happen because Abel is a lower tier char, hes facing the top SF players out there, and the obvious… people lose.

The losses you saw on the vids were nothing compared to his off camera wins.

Yah I have to agree that shiro is the shit, and all yall haters are tripping. The fact of the matter is it seems at pro level you can’t really play abel to his strengths (his rushdown/mixups) you have to be a lot more defensive, and shiro knows this, adapts and still pulls out the wins.

i was wondering how you guys deal with camping shotos and blankas >< i just got destroyed by a ryu who got the lead then just sat on it… nothing i could do to get it, that and i whiffed almost all my ultra attempts with a FS
anyway camping shotos, trap them into a corner. absorb their fireballs, be prepared to use lk wheel kick/cr.hp/cr.mk accordingly… and i just saw this video of abel vs akuma, and i learned that you can deal with jumpaway with dash and cr.mk (need to test this on my own too)…
i hate blankas that rush me down and confusing me with that hop thing on my wakeup. somehow that can get into my head rather easily :(.

fireball and uppercut is a shotoclone to me. same with iori yagami, Ryo/roberto, captain america, and honzo.
Sagat is a shotoclone without knowing shotokan… but Goken is NOT a shotoclone but he is the teacher of shotokan…

I dont know what I can do about my execution. I think i am just slow. I see busta and darksydephil do things on reaction and hit confirrmation that I couldnt do on my best day.
I have over 100 hours now played and pretty much none of it in arcade mode… so i can only get but so much better from playing. and I am not fast enough to even beat the challenge hard trials.
ill just keep plugging along and try.

Next time you have a guy down to a sliver of health, don’t throw out ultra like that. If the guy didn’t suck, he could have easily jumped away and did ultra back to steal the round. Walking up and doing standing lk is the better option. It won’t chip, but it will counter hit more often than not, and if they block it, you can throw out a lk wheel kick that will either hit them trying to jump away or counter hit or they will block it and die from the chip damage.
holy crap i had a crappy night. lost most of my matches and my execution’s ugly, even the wins were ugly haha. meh. just one of those days.

Don’t use crouching fierce versus crossups. Try to focus/roll through fireballs if you can instead of blocking. You gotta get more consistent at punishing those shoryus, too.

most of the time if you see me doing cr.hp against crossups, thats a st.hp gone horribly wrong
too samurai drew, i dont like this match up, its stupid and ive had enough exp against the abel’s in socal to play this match up. i was in a hurry during that match since i had to leave to a bday party that was 2.5 hours away. i just got back right now. i mean of course that was garbage watch it if you want i dont really care what other ppl say/think. online to me doesnt really mean much because i know that when it comes down to arcade or consoles tournies ill step it up. if you guys dont want shitty vids i wont post them hah. im just posting the video because i had the option too. enough with the excuses nobody plays perfect.
