the matchup isnt that tough, just walk towards him.
deejay cant pull that jump knee bullshit to jump in against you since abels cr.mk beats most if not all his jump ins.
play the ground game, bait reversal up kick on wakeup or between strings, punish accordingly. mix it up, abel stuff
vs deejay low meaties are free. c.mk kinda sucks for that but sweep is good. any time he does that stupid charge back, fwd+kick thing he is at big frame disadvantage after. lk isn’t quite a free step kick but all the other ones are unless you get pushed out. IIRC it counts as airborne on its startup so it beats TT and c.lk cleanly
one thing I’ve never figured out is if EX Machine Gun is invincible or not… that move is weird.
his fireball is also really, really easy to hit with U1. you can hit him from full screen too, no problem.
I don’t think Abel/Fei is very hard, at all.
At this point in play… I honestly don’t think Abel has any bad match-ups. He has matches that he loses… but nothing that is difficult enough to be considered a bad match-up, with the possible exception of Cammy/Akuma.
I, personally, lose to Ken kinda free too. :-/

After the match Hugo said that Breathless is the better ultra to use in this match up. I’ve got some very good abel playing friends who say the contrary. The match-up thread suggests that both ultras are good… Anybody here got a solid opinion as to which ultra works better?
w/Breathless you can punish more psycho crushers and get a more reliable AA to use. his j.fp can really fuck with normal AAs
its also pretty trivial to whiff punish his s.rh with U2
I always use Breathless against Bison, but Soulless is good to. You landed plenty of ultras though. Not to mention the ones you left on the table (like when you blocked EX Psycho…). Ultra selection was definitely not your problem in those fights. Your biggest problem, as far as I could see, is your lack of composure. You would get flustered, and break down on D, or drop combos, or leave easy punishes out there.
Agree with both ultra having its uses against Dictator, I used to prefer U1 but right now Im leaning towards U2 - despite the nerf. I guess even if I dont land it, I want having it just to remind my opponent that he cant just pressure me with his st.hk etc without considering the risk that im just waiting to press that KKK.

I think I made quite a number of bad decisions like doing f.mk when knowing(instinctly or on reaction) the opponent was going to jump in, not doing fadc combo to end the 4th round, and maybe being a little bit too aggresive and ate a lot of unnecessary dash punches while dashing forward.
You guys have anything to add?

^ um try reading your opponent more. he didnt look like a patient rog so just chill out and press less buttons sinec you were getting hit via jump ins a few times. you wanna get in so bad but it made you lose. at times try using st.lk instead of st.mk (less risk using + great poke). a non patient rog is easy to beat, just sit there if you have meter thats even better. he jumps in cr.mk, he does any dash ex tt, etc. oh yeah and that cr.fp, iirc that happened in super also.
I’m just throwing this out there…if someone wants to reboot this and do a new video thread please do. This thing has gotten way too large and the OP is not really helpful.
