Though the Abel won that match… I think it’s a good example of why constantly rolling to get in on opponents is a good way to take unnecessary damage. Just walk and out to avoid 6 roundhoues to the face.

haha that reminds me of my match against kenzo at a ranbat… in the previous one i got owned by him, then i played lame/patient as hell, never lettin him get close to me at all, the only time we’re close is when im attacking. footsies time, nope. i used ex roll and stuff to get out of situation where ex tatsumaki was plausible, didnt get caught in any of kens shenanigans… im not sure if the match was uploaded or not…

Abel vs Fei Long: After Fei’s first Rekka… if abel sticks out any normal AT ALL, including standing grab… Fei can fierce chicken wing and it will counter hit… making the following up fierce a 4 frame link rather than a 1 frame link… so it’s risky. I asked a very good abel player who feels that Fei long is abel’s worst match up.

Abel Vs Guy: Duck to avoid the retarded air grab… Guy’s Crouching Medium kick… if meaty sets up a nice frame trap into standing strong. Abel has nothing faster than 5 frames in regards to pokes so this trap is something to watch out for.
His crouching hard kick sets up a nice frame trap into ex spin kick… so don’t press any buttons after a blocked sweep, unless you’re feeling lucky.
Last thing… it seems that his hazonto if very close sets up a nice frame trap into standing strong.
His standing strong although it’s special cancel-able into hazanto doesn’t seem to be a true block string… In other words if guy hits abel with a standing strong into hazanto while abel is blocking… abel is free to move around after the strong and before the hazanto but unfortunately will counter hit anything abel can do.

I had a wake-up call today at the arcades.
I was up against the most underrated character ever, Dee Jay.
This is SSF4AE mind you and perhaps Abel’s nerf got to me or perhaps Dee Jay is a match-up I never played before. I stood brilliantly against YunYang, Sagat, C.Viper and others so I know my game. I got stumped against Gief (no surprise here) and this monster Dee Jay.
Any tips?
I had problem with his ambiguous knee, those special kicks pressure and getting cornered sucked. Seems like I can’t do anything unless he screws up his link. What does Abel has that can punish him? This Dee Jay knows his stuff, he owned my friend’s Balrog who usually goes up to 10+ winstreak each time and this tourney-level Gen. Hope I manage to clarify the level at play here.
