On another news, I just got back from a tourney and i only managed to won once(vs gouki) before i got kicked out by a fuerte(was close though)… I dont have that much experience vs fuerte but i was glad that i didnt panic (like the previous two times)… I’m starting to get use to the pressure bein in a tourney and hopefully next week i can win more than once.

Wtf was that… sagat just straight jump hk, land, tigershot, straight jump hk, land, tigershot… over and over… He was asking for that ultra if you ask me. 
Although the abel player was good and kept the pressure on so sagat probably just freaked out and broke down. lol

yeah, the first 2 players on our team (OJ4 and myself) don’t own the game and have played very little…idk wtf Blackula’s problem was that night, lol. none of us knew jack shit about Abel. it’s all good tho, they won the tourney. props to Havoc’s teammate for explaining some shit to me afterward. this is why ppl need to show for events…win or lose…no matter how bad you are or how bad you perform, you’ll learn something.

That Abel blockstring endin’ with f.mk dash TT (or c.lpx2 or 3) was sick he got that off a fair bit. Definately helped him hold down alot of pressure.

The Sagat and Zangief fights are like an Abel master class. Also the ultra catching the end of the psycho crusher in the Bison fight made me go “oh shiiiit!” in my cube.
What’s that crazy move he does at 6:58-7:00 in the first vid? Looks like a CoD cancel into a throw I haven’t seen before. I’ve only been playing SF4 for like 3 days so there’s probably a lot I haven’t seen, but still

Any kind of feedback is welcome. I’ve been messing up on my execution a lot lately (by a lot, I mean a lot)and I noticed I have a few problems such as:
- I roll too much
- Try to rely on cr.hp
- Don’t know how to get in with f+mk properly
So yeah. Advice, tips, whatever. I reaaaaaally need them :x Messed up on the ultra setup and I did a super instead.
Disclaimer: I’ve owned the game for 3 total days :wtf: Anything that gets said by me here should be either taken with a grain of salt, or thoroughly looked over by an adept Abel player before taking it seriously. Anyway,
First fight:
- Every time you land the full two-hit cr.FP, remember to dash or roll into something, whether it be a CoD or his AA grab. If you’ve got super/ultra, cr.FP is a great way to provide an opening for it.
- Wheel kicking out of range is asking to get punished, same will rolling into your opponent instead of through or under him/her
- Rolling into cr.FP is hit or miss, but mostly miss, since the opponent will more than likely be blocking low when you start rolling at them. Try a j.MK -> cr.FP
- At 1:14, it looks like you were trying to get your ultra off when you jumped at him and got KO’d. While it might have sounded like a good idea, any ultra that isn’t lead into with a combo is probably going to miss, either by the opponent back dashing or jumping over it.
Second fight:
- 1:52 is another good example of dashing into the opponent after cf.FP to land the super. The fight would probably have ended right there.
- Your KO was well executed and another good example of how not leading in to super/ultras is doomed to failure.
Third fight:
- No comments from me except for well done!
1st match:
-Missed combo opportunities from cr.hp.(this can be applied to matches 2 and 3 too)
-That ultra you tried to hit of a cr.hp at the end wont land anyway since your cr.hp only resets him from the air. In order to land and ultra from a cr.hp you either get two hits that launches, or one hit that launches(opp doesnt flip in the air).
2nd match:
-LOL did ya try to ultra without revenge meter?
-Random ULTRA FTL
3rd match:
You really love cr.hp that much? hehe.
Anyway yeah clearly your Abel’s the better of the two. The other one played like he didnt know what he’s doing(no offense whatsoever).

Yeah… now that I look at it, I DID try and ultra without the revenge meter XD Hahahah oh wow, I feel soooooooooooooooooooooo retarded. I honestly didn’t do cr.hp this much before, so after watching myself play I’m literally going “what the fuck am I doing?”

Hey busta, try out fierce cod after a blocked rolling attack if you dont have ultra. I’m pretty sure this works if timed just as blanka lands. Also maybe crouching jab to take the offensive after blanka hops (jab-tt, jab-jab etc). this is from pg.2 so this may not be useful to you any longer =P.
found your main SRK profile and added you on AIM…i should be getting a PS3 (again) soon, so i’ll hit you up and talk shop more @ that point.
anyway, after i got home i spoke to Millionz online and he told me about that “what would you change about Abel” thread on here, and i really feel like it has some of the best info. on the character. i see no reason to have closed that thread…if anything it should be edited for spam and stickied by mods for other character sections for SF IV…but w/e. apparently i was too tired to say something as simple as “ggs to Havoc” when i made that first post in this thread, so i’ll do it now.
Havoc - Good shit man. cats around here can learn a lot from you. i’d like to see you stick with Abel and continue to win in spite of the character’s downfalls. oh, and i wasn’t trying to take anything away from your win on my team when i said Ollie and myself diddn’t own the game…main thing there, with me, was that this is the first non-Tekken fighter i had attempted to compete in (or learn for that matter). gotta start somewhere, and i’m a firm believer that the only way to get really good @ anything is to put yourself out there with the best, and learn from them.

there were 3-4 abels in that tourney (and they’re better than me). check vid 1-4 for abels. im the one wearin red though i usually wear white i changed it to avoid confusion.
oh and i have very little to none experience against fuerte that i didnt know that i can punish some of his moves with ultra, but now i know. so yeah maybe next time i’ll beat a fuerte ahaha.
p/s - ???(gouki) and beikoku(ken)'re both from srk, we go to this tourney every week. the one in the vid above bein the 3rd week.
abelity i liked that match with u & gouki though cause he’s 1 of my wrost matchups & u had that rushdown but yet patient at the same time that’s what’s up, that other abel versus claw match was good also but there was times i’m looking at it like where is the ultra?? lol
