Awesome Abel. c.lp on reaction to stop hazanshu. fishing with c.mk to counterhit her s.HK and vertical jump into what looks like in the air ex cod against Chun’s c.HK! I thought Chun was the only one who could do specials ie hazanshu in the air.
That weren’t a air cod it was just ex cod as soon as he landed lol
He played very well though apart from the sloppy jump ins that got st.hp’d but I think he was just testing how good he was at anti airing I would have liked to see how h dealt with the Chun back dashing more though.
If you pause the clip at 1.15 you can see that Abel is still in landing frames when he flashes yellow with armour. Its like Chun can hazanshu right before she lands.
Abel doesn’t have good options against her back dash besides sweep and cod both of which are risky.
Landing frames… meaning, he’s landed. No character can do ground moves from the air. It’s just not possible. Any character can cancel landing frames from an empty jump from the first frame they touch the ground. That is NOT the same thing as doing a ground move while in the air… at all.

Ultra 1 vs T.Hawk!
Punish blocked dives with a raw ultra and I find I can land a step kick a fair few times a round.
I have a mate who plays T.Hawk and he always catches me with empty jumps which look like they can be cr.mk or cr.fr anti air’ed but I get thrown for.
Also that dash up throw should be st.lk’ed [I throw a lot of st.lk vs T.Hawk] unless he has metre.
You didn’t do too bad, but you could have done better! ( dont know if the abel knew the match or not) but you can def punish Eagle dive with step kick/Ultra, in the footsie game you shouldnt let him push you into a corner. . try to keep it at abel Cr.RH distance, whenever he jumps towards you try to look for it cause they’re bound to do so, React with a jump.F. . on another note, when you pressure a T.hawk player, dont respect their command throw ever, why? cause your beats out their dont be afraid of their wake up much if they ultra or command throw, their only choice is to go banana with their Srk. Witch is highly punishable. One last thing i prefer Breathless on this match up also… so if you ever back dash from a whiff command throw you can punish, also breathless can be using to punish Whiff pokes witch they’re bound to do cause they have nothing else to do lol catch it on their whiff Round house,Strong, Fierce… and Ground version of eagle dive. . . those are my 2cents =P

I prefer U2 in this fight too because of the whole whiff punishing thing - it offers something similar to what U1 does in the shoto matches - it removes some of your opponents better mid range options.
Rico should get back on the scene, need more Abel shenanigans. I prefer U1 in the hawk fight, simply for blocked condor dives, and T.Hawk can change his jump arc mid air, so breathless anti air is no good. Punishing whiffed pokes with breathless, dunno bout that but U1 seems more reliable.
