endless matches:
endless mode vs makoto (10 matches)

last i checked(a week ago?) the makoto player was ranked in top 5 makoto, not sure about now. a friend of mine has a better makoto with way less BP though… anyway the player in the vids might not look so good in those videos but he’s actually pretty good, later he owned me back in ranked, making me believe that i play better in endless, more relaxed and less stress… i also believe some of the wins i were due to luck with breathless though most of them werent randoms(at least to me).

the blanka 1 match right after he did his ultra that you blocked you could have done forward dash into cr.fp>roll>super to finish the match. i love trying to bait blankas ultra its pretty much a free FS combo or ultra from that.

yeah i was going for the cr.hp juggle roll super etc… but i messed up the cr.hp. maybe i should use that punish more often, ive gotten used to punishing blocked blanka U1 with cr.hp ultra or cr.hp roll FS etc…

Guys need feedback/advice on my vids against cody(preferably based on the endless mode matches).

Then i added him as a friend and played him on endless:

10 sets against the same cody player

watched a few of the endless videos. two big things you can work on is your anti-airs and your offence approach - always doing deep rolls into a punishable range is not going to cut it at higher levels. think about zoning more - how can you approach/push without a jump-in or a roll?

-In the first video, it looked like you could c.mk->roll anti-air all of his jump-ins.
-when on defense in a block string, jumping back fierce would own this cody. for example at 0:10 in endless 2.
-3rd video of endless, neutral jumping (empty jump TT or hit) in the beginning would beat his jumpin. imo you could be neutral jumping a lot more in all of your games. especially vs this style cody.
-didn’t see much s.lk in any of the games. s.lk is great for zoning, but right now it doesn’t feel like you have any kind of zoning game.

stop rolling recklessly

hey thanks, yeah i lost the first few rounds in the endless matches though later on i won 4 in a row, applying neutral jumps and baiting/punishing all of his whiffed ex zonk…

later i learned that even if he fadced backdash out of the ex zonk, i can punish with TT(i used lp TT), though im not sure if its only applicable to point blank ex zonk…

i admit i didnt know much about this match up(ive read some stuff but little match experience) and i did let him jump in for free in the first few matches, i do endless matches more to learn than win so maybe some of those jump ins i let him so that i can see his combo habits etc… which i learned later that he loves to fish for counter hit…

too many rolls, deep rolls are bad… guilty of that, i dont usually roll that much(i think).
poor zoning… guilty too though i felt that i got better in later matches
i also kept failing at teching throws after that forward moving kick cody does… if i have to guess, its mk. something about the timing i guess.

obviously a lot of room to improve on, thanks for the feedback(s). looking forward to fight the cody again.

oh snap, I spoke too soon. fought the same cody for another 10 sets just now, This time he edged it 6-4 though i think he is indeed the better player(beat me clean in some of the sets). I realized that its when i applied most of the advice and stopped doing stupid shit, I won rather comfortably, not easy but comfortable. I still have the scrub habit of doing stupid shit(like tryin to do something when i shouldve blocked) and falling apart under pressure, and I blame no one but myself for that. Another mistake of mine is probably underestimating my opponent, in a way that i thought he’s going to play completely the same as yesterday, he switched up a little bit and that threw me off a little.

ah well, better than fighting weaker opponents and learning jack.

I thought this was a very good example of how Abel/Akuma matchup should look like. Thats how mine look like… except I suck.

Probly should of used U1 for tha combo factor but Fox is a good friend of mine and he loves to jump in and throw random jabs after throw breaks/FADC cancels/etc… so i figured 2 would be better on him, still not sure which to prefer in that matchup.
