so yeah, havent really seen the other new chars that much besides guy and juri(even juri’s kinda rare) but then that could probably be because of timing etc… anyway appreciate any advice on improving my game (obvious execution errors aside)… maybe things like better punish or things i shouldve punished but didnt or bad habits of mine(except the focus thing which im aware of )
your abel is pretty solid so i dont have many tips but here it goes: try to do different mixups on wake up, especially against guy when he has no meter, i like to use lk roll to cr. mp/tt or dash up tt. also i didn’t see much attempts to AA so maybe work on anticipating jump ins more. other then that your abel played quite well, nice use of u2 btw
nice, you made quick work of that bison in the 2nd round. not sure how exp those guys were against abel, they didnt seem to know what to do under pressure. only thing i really notice was the lack of mixups on wake up, maybe throw some ambigous rolls, dash up tt and overheads into your wake up game. against gouken for example. all he can do on wake up is back dash or tatsu so exploit that shit. other then that tho good abel. i gotta post some videos soon
If you want advice it’s probably better to post some vids of you not completely dominating. I’m not a huge fan of mix-ups over falling sky but it paid off in these matches. And I’m not completely sure about this but I don’t think the EX TT in the very last round had any advantages over a fierce TT (with the amount of frame advantage you had).
I’m always a fan of reading your opponent. If you think you’re in their head, go for the mix ups, if you’re going to win without a rest obviously falling sky, and if you’re just unsure what they’re going to do, just falling sky.
(and obviously not a matchup with a quick escape like akuma)
My matches with rico, (the beginning ones) I was in his head, and baited his backdash with a dash in TT.
yeah man, if you want advice for what you can work on, post videos of you fighting people that actually know the abel matchup, because those guys obviously didn’t. I could post vids of me destroying random ranked players, but it means nothing if they don’t know the matchup or are bad.
When you feel you’re in their head it’s a won match either way. A falling sky ender is in theory just as good as the normal cr.lp etc. plus some extra damage. Though I’m by no means a very good Abel player and I love the fact that this character leaves room for different play styles.
Look man I really don’t care if the players are good or horrible all I asked for was some suggestions on what I could work on. I just play on xbox live I don’t play in tournaments so some of the Marcus I post my be against bad comp and if u don’t like it don’t comment but if u gave some suggestions then by all means all I have to go by is the persons battle points. It’s amazing how I can get scrutinized for trying to get better smh
Flash, you have a good Abel. But if you want advice people need to see you play against someone who gives you a run for your money. In the matches you posted you did nothing wrong, your opponents gave you all the space in the world to absolutely run over them, and you took it. But these aren’t the matches you learn anything from other than to keep doing what you’re already doing.
^exactly, we aint haitng on you flash but, the best test and the best way to see if yo need help in certain areas is the play someone who knows how to deal with abel
