nah it didnt grab behind, its just appeared as if he’s going to land behind abel but actually he landed in front of him haha, something about abels hitboxes being a lil bit weird during breathless.
I THINK you have to be able to clear him entirely… Due to the fact that he kinda goes into that stance, his hitbox gets wider… wonky but it’s going to take the user and the opponent time to work out distances. And again a character like vega who needs that time/distance/both to armor break is going to have issues with that,
so i rewatched the video and i wonder if the claw could escape if he did jumpback instead… then again the spacing where hav did U2 was just nice lol… oh i also wonder lets say the abel did U2 and during the flash you charge down back, is there enough time to get the charge and wall dive to safety? hmm
anyway two videos from me, once showing that my U2 got backthrown by a gouken, im guessin its either because he did it super early or really that goukens backthrow was just an exception… :shrugs: (no time to test this yet)

Yeah I played a claw yesterday and when i did U2 he just backflipped out of it. But the next time I played him i held the charge, and when he backflipped i got him at the end of it.
I was kicking myself the first time though. Should have held.
The second time it was against dhalsim, who neutral air attacked me, and i hit U2, but i didnt hold it and as he came back down he teleported, but if I had held it i would have got him at the end of his teleport.
it’s just these little things…

I’v been playing Abel for about a week now, tell me what you guys think… and any tips would be nice. I’v been using U2 and U1 they both seem so good. I do like being able to juggle into U1 though. I remeber thinking I can’t juggle U2(even though I didn’t have ultra) right as I missed the link from TOD in the first round. haha… But for real any tips would be nice.

haha yeah U1 is probably a better choice BUT…
i dont think i saw even ONE f.mk dash being used(maybe even st.lk? not sure)… dont take this the wrong way but both players seemed like they forgot how to AA (abel - cr.mk, st.hp, j.hp, cr.hp, Ryu - a lot of obvious AA shoryu he missed - especially after raeli jumped over a fireball)…
raeli you did too much unnecessary FA imo, sometimes where its better to use f.mk, you focused instead. another thing you can improve on is your okizeme, 99% of the time you went for crossups(which should be punished by the ryu btw) and never did ambiguous rolls or even croll crossups to bait stuff…
though i know being in comp can make u nervous and all kinds of stuff might/can happen… good shit nonetheless.
Oh yeah sorry, i know, the exhibition matches he showed where daigo as deejay vs a juri player, and some random hakan match. But this was still on the DVD.
