Haha. This is definitely my favorite song as well. This song is way too infectious and catchy. :lovin:

yo…Corn boss with low health = WTF???

I’m glad me and Rioting Soul were double teaming the game…cause that boss seems like he would be all sorts of irritating by yourself.

you aren’t talking about that door with the douchebag at the top talking about ‘you aren’t beefy enough to get in here’ are you? If you are…use a sandwich and knock the door down.

Edit:

apparently he made other tracks for the game as well…if you’re interested in more of the music go here:

Edit2: ‘PIRATE NINJAS!?’ ~ My reaction to the boat level

wow i actually got to play coop!! (i usually get kicked out or no games are found) even though it was only for the last level :bluu: got my flame sword though:bgrin:

In regards to the Catfish/Bat Boomerang Glitch:

It apparently only glitches when you kill the Catfish with the boomerang AND the cannonball hits the catfish.

Like, the catfish has to be stunned after the cannonball and the boomerang has to be stuck on its back in order for the graphical glitch to take place. I just try and lead the cat away from the boat or get as close to him as possible after I throw the boomerang so that it doesn’t have a chance to hit him. Just slightly tapping up after each blocked paw swipe should do the trick and lead him vertically far enough to avoid the cannonball from hitting him.

I’ve been posting a bunch over at gamefaqs for this game because the main website has been down and what not and I’m trying to figure out who the best character in the game is.

Right now my Top 5 look like this:

  1. Red Knight

  2. Blue Knight

  3. Buzzsaws (2 chars have it)

  4. Beekeeper

  5. Demon Knight/Ninja

  6. Barbarian

  7. Skeleton

  8. Grey Knight

Skeleton would be up there, but he does the same attack as the Demon Knight (guys you fight in lava world), just doesn’t do any fire damage. Ninja and Demon Knight appear to have the same range/spammability on their magic as well, but again, Demon Knight does fire damage in addition to regular damage. I haven’t gotten down to too much of a direct comparison, been busy unlocking all the characters and leveling their magic all the way to max.
People keep trying to put Green Knight up there with Red/Blue for some reason, and most people don’t even want to rank the Blue knight in the top anything because they can’t appreciate the 1 hit kill he gets in arena mode, or his crowd control ability in the game/normal mode. They keep saying shit like “OMG Green Knight is awesome, he can spam magic more than anyone else AND he does poison damage.”

Yet they don’t realize that Blue has the only 1 hit kill in the game and Red Knight has the “I-hit-you-and-deal-almost-50%-life-guaranteed” attack. It’s really frustrating. There was one guy who posted a tier listing that I almost agreed with 100% but he ranked the Ninja too high IMO.

Animal assists are good for countering certain things in arena mode, and yeah - the yeti does unfortunately counter Blue’s strategy and unfortunately if someone is wearing the Yeti in arena mode Blue becomes the worst character in the game. His magic uses up too much bar to be worth anything and doesn’t deal a lot of damage. Ram assist is also good for preventing long combos, but for the most part I end up playing Arena mode with guys I’m doing co-op with and we’re always using Giraffes so it comes down to char vs. char. I haven’t really tried much “Arena Mode” gameplay.

Anyway, I beat the game on Insane with my Industrial Knight the other day with some dudes I met online. I ended up joining them at the first Desert stage and man… that shit is ridiculous. Easily the hardest level in the game. I thought Cyclops’ Cave or the Forest Boss were bad, but shit. Those Beetle things that go underground are relentless and fighting 4 of them in a 3 man team when they deal like 350 damage a pop is just straight annoying. After beating that level the rest of the game was pretty much a cakewalk for us.

Buzzsaws would be ranked lower in PvP than he is on my list up there because he lacks the range. He’s far too valuable on insane mode though as he is the best crowd control character in the game. The two guys I joined up with on my insane run told me that if I didn’t have a high level buzzsaws then we probably never would’ve beaten the game. Add in the fact that he is the single best character in the game to use against bosses and we made pretty easy work of the 2nd half of the game. The two other guys just sat back and spammed arrows/magic and I would basically keep away anyone who tried to flank us, guard against jump ins and knock back any enemies that tried to roll on us after being knocked down.

There’s also apparently a way to beat the game without having to beat all the levels either. I tried it out and fucked it up, but I realize where I went wrong now. You need to have a character in your party who has already beaten the game and there’s like 10-15 stages you can skip or something. Beating certain bosses “clears” other certain stages, and any stage where you can backtrack to the previous stage can be beaten by entering the latter stage, walking back to previous stage, walking forward to the next stage and exiting to the world map.

I.E.
Enter Thieves’ Forest
Walk back to Forest Entrance
Walk into Thieves’ Forest
Exit to World Map

This counts as Forest Entrance being cleared.

I’ll dig up the post on GameFAQs and put it up here in a little bit.

I wish this was available for d/l on PSN.

Also, even though I’m late with this. If you level up your magic high enough you get the Y+A attack which is like an anti-air/super jump you can use to get to the Dragon Boss’s Chin.

He also dips his head down at one point you can use as a starting point for your aircombo. Just start out with an X,Y,Y attack as that will give you the elevation you need in order to continue it afterwards.

I tried the glitch out on the corn boss… it kinda worked… but he goes underground. dammit
anyone experimented with other bosses?

Do it on the bat boss (in the cave after the catfish) for the easiest possible way.

As soon as he comes in the cave, go to the top left corner of the screen, face to the right and charge your boomerang. He’ll land and start walking at you. Throw it as he approaches so it catches his back and he stands in front of you. Then block.

is anyone bored of this game yet??

Just got it the other night. Trying to put some time into it. Anybody down to play tonight or tomorrow?

No, and I’ve beaten it fully through about 10 times so far. Both offline and online.

is there 20 kingdoms or 20 stages (those little circles on the map)

I am :pleased: with this game, and :bgrin: with it too!

It’s fun to play, easy to pick up, gives you a combination of magic-play and Final Fight-like beat-em up mechanics, and it’s always fun to have to fight your fellow players just to get the kiss from the princess.

I just LOVE my Green (poison) Knight and Barbarian! The Green Knight’s so broken when you build his magic up, where he literally becomes a poison-spewing wave of terror! :bgrin:

There’s 35 total “Levels”, as in circles on the map that you must complete.

A bunch of them are boss fights, some of them carry over into one another and feel like one stage. Some of them are short and shouldn’t count as stages. Some of them are “gimmicky” like the Abandoned Mill and Desert Chase.

There’s 13 “areas” I guess.

  1. Barbarian/Home Castle Area
  2. Forest Area
  3. Mill/River Ride Area
  4. Field/Wedding Area
  5. Industrial Castle is stand alone
  6. Cyclops Area
  7. Lava World
  8. Pirate Ship is stand alone
  9. Desert Area
  10. Marsh Area
  11. Full Moon is stand alone
  12. Snow Area
  13. Final Area

I counted each area as having a boss. The only one that doesn’t is the Pirate Ship as it’s just kind of a segue between the first part of the map and the second. You could consider that a mid-boss fight, but it’s really easy. All the areas are pretty easy on normal mode though once you play through the game once. The real challenge doesn’t begin until insane mode where you kind of need 3 or 4 high level characters (60+) to complete the game after the Forest area.

Some people say they have solo’d the game on insane, but they must be getting really bored because the only way I can see that being done is by doing the slam dunk/basketball infinite over and over, which does little to no damage, or by spamming magic which has to replenish itself so there’d be a lot of running around. I also don’t see how anyone can beat the desert level solo on insane, even with a full maxed out character. The area with the 4 sand beetle things is just overwhelming, especially with the accuracy of the enemies arrows/bombs and having to dodge all four of the beetles while they’re underground.

SMS: You need to play Red or Blue Knight to truly understand “broken”. Green is theoretically the worst because he has the least to offer as far as potential damage/crowd control is concerned as well as Orange, but he gets outrange by Orange. He’s a good character, don’t get me wrong, but he just lacks the potential of the Red/Blue and gets outranged by Orange. Green knight also does that stupid flip kick thing instead of the sword swing for his multi-hitting Y attack, and that decreases his combo potential because of it’s slower recovery and how it knocks away the enemy.

Painter boss is my favorite.

“Must’ve been something I ate. BLEH BLEH BLEH.”

A vid of insane mode: - Thieves forest. Infinite displayed. x,x,x,x,y (in air)

Yeah  I just realized I could use the sandwiches outside of the Lava World yesterday, and beefed up to pull it down. So silly.

This game is crack. I just got it yesterday and I haven’t been able to put it down. I recommend all people to at least try this game.

The shit rocket deer ride is the SHIT. (see what I did there)

-DJ-

I don’t get it.

Trying to get a game in right now. I’m at the lava world/ industrial castle. Add me and let’s try to get a game going.
