has anyone tried bat assist in the arena? it looks like a sort of stun, so you can set up your infinite with that.

i like my green knight but he truly is low tier. poison spam is cool…but it knocks down so the damage isnt too hot :[. most of the good damage comes from “juggles” (LIKE FIGHTAN GAEMS LOL), or moves that don’t knock down. poison spam is good on bosses because they dont get knocked down, but everyone else (except for the ice magic users?) has something similar.

im going to try that “trick” for beating the game quickly so i can unlock some of the more broke chars, and level up a red/blue knight.

Yep, you spam the infinite or spam magic. The hardest parts of the game are the ones where you can’t spam it :stuck_out_tongue:

Cyclops’ Cave/Fortress (The Periwinkles don’t launch at all, except the one at the start)
Lava World (the Dragon Knights don’t launch as high)
Marsh (four beefy skeletons will throw you all day solo)
Full Moon (entire level is full of unlaunchables)
second to last boss fight (was hard to begin with :p)
Whichever stage is full of enemies that resist your magic’s element

And Dread Bat can be a nuisance because his tongue is a OHKO. Aside from that, learn to evade arrows and bombs and you’re set.

Desert was kinda hard. Took me about three attempts. You only fight two of the sand beetles at a time solo, I guess more spawn in multiplayer. The rest of the stage is pretty short, Aliens still die in one hit and sand worms are easily beaten by magic.

opps forgot to put the link in:xeye:

Hey wildkitty, what’s your recomended level up path to get through the game quickly. Basically I want to unlock as many bonus characters I can in the shortest way possible.

Word, insane solo is hard as fuck. I tried to solo the pubacabra boss last night. I would just use the magic jump and jump all around till I got a little space and could spam Y magic. I didnt beat him. I hit the block button once while fighting him. I got stuck blocking for like 10 minutes.

I level up Magic first, dumping every point you get into it until it maxes at level 13. From there on out I dump everything into Strength until level 20. After that I equally bump up Strength and Defense alternatively when I level.

Magic is the fastest way to take out bosses and clears enemies away/hits multiple at once. You can do a little air combo and end it with jumpinng Y magic for a knockdown + good damage. In the beginning of the game it typically takes 2 B magics to kill any enemy if you build it up. Or an aircombo + 1 air Y magic. Jumping Y magic lets you buy some time in the air if you do an air combo and a bunch of enemies gather beneath you or start approaching. Magic is pretty indispensable imo. It also lets you know if the character you’re leveling up is useless or not the quickest out of any other method. You can get up to level 13 in like 20 minutes if you equip Giraffey and do the boomerang glitch on the catfish twice and then go on to the bat.

I just do the glitch on the bat until I hit level 20 and then run through the rest of the game. If you know the enemy’s patterns well enough, where guaranteed food is, and are decent at dodging defense is moot and pretty much unnecessary until you get to the Snow World/Final Area. It helps on the desert level, but if you have your magic at a good level then you can just reign projectiles down on the enemies while the sand beetles are underground.

You have five potions at your disposal, there’s guaranteed food drops, and you typically get a piece of food if you’re hurt after clearing a group of enemies. Agility is pretty useless until you get to insane mode imo. Everything can be killed so much quicker with combos and magic than arrows and it never hurts to know exactly how good a certain character’s magic is goinng to be at the earliest point in the game.

I don’t put any points into agility until everything else is maxed out.

I played 4p there on insane and theres a spawn with 5 of them at one point

Thanks!

Oh, and I also recommend leveling up:

Blue Knight to get Industrial Knight (Buzzsaws, he also unlocks another Buzzsaw character)

Orange Knight to get Demon Knight then the Ninja (just cuz he’s a decent character and cool, has a unique bow and arrow as well) Demon Knight is also a good character

Barbarian is a good character you get for beating the King’s Arena and Beekeeper (his unlock) is unique/good and spammable.

The rest of the characters have that generic Arrow magic and a different projectile, but Grey Knight has bombs as his B magic, so if you’re going to level one of the Generic guys up then go for him imo. He unlocks stove face, who I think is the Black Knight you face in Full Moon. I haven’t done him yet but he’s next on the list, dunno if the “heavy character” property still applies.

I beat it with Icekimo to get the “Brute”, who uses nature magic/vines and looks a little bit like a Samurai. You fight a beefy version of him in the Industrial Castle. Lots of people are beating with Theif to get the Forest Knight (from Swamp) because they think he looks cool, but the Brute uses the same magic so I just went with him instead. Icekimo is exactly the same as Blue Knight, except his projectile magic does not freeze (Air + Y is a downward snowball) BUT, he is immune to Freezing. So you can bring him into Arena mode vs. a Blue Knight and wreck shop without having to waste your animal orb on the Yeti.

So basically I say beat the game with these guys for the best/unique magic (not in any order):
1.Blue Knight
2.Red Knight (Skeleton is same as Demon Knight but no fire damage, but Red Knight is worth it itself)
3. Orange Knight and Demon Knight
4. Barbarian
5. Grey Knight
6. Icekimo or Thief depending on which nature magic guy you want, but Icekimo is generally a better/unique character overall since Thief also has generic arrow magic.

Seems like everything else is generic magic. I want to get through with the Grey Knight and Peasant though and I think I’ll be happy. The Bear you get for winning with Skeleton and “Saracen” for winning with Green Knight’s unlock (Chainmail/Royal guard for green unlocks the arabian dude Saracen from desert levels) both have the tornado magic which is the worst in the game.

I just realized how much Green Knight got the shaft in this game. He has the worst unlock chain (Royal guard/Chainmail face is generic and Saracen has the worst magic along with Bear) and at the end of the game is the least useful overall. Sure the 2nd statement is just my opinion, since about half hte board over at GameFAQs seems to think he’s the 2nd best of the original 4 knights. Add in the fact that he has that wonky flipkick as his Y move in the combo that fucks everything up, it seems like they just hated on Green Knight for no reason.

“Here, have some spammy magic that does shit DoT on insane and in PvP.”

Yeah, chainmail dude has bombs + generic arrow hail as magic.
I think Stoveface, Grey Knight, Peasant, Civilian, Periwinkle Knight all have the same magic. Arrow Hail and either generic projectile or a bomb.

Saracen and Bear suck.

Ninja is actually overrated. I just looked at him and Green Knight measuring magic distance, spammability and damage. Green Knight wins in length and travel speed of magic, can spam just as much, does 1 more point of damage for Y magic and 3 points less for projectile. Add in DoT and poison does more.

Ninja’s only advantage is his resistance to elemental immunities since his attack is non-elemental.

I fell for the hype cuz he’s a ninja, but he really doesn’t offer anything better than the Green knight. I still rank Green Knight low though. But he’s prolly like top 7.

 I can only imagine how hard it’d be if they were smart and just picked on one of you at a time… their sand rolling attack OTGs :shake:

Anyone notice that if you hit Jump just as you hit the floor, the hitspark is different? (it’s yellow instead of white) Seems like it might be a safe fall that only works against certain attacks…

I say we have an SRK Tournament of Champions.

We could do it two mays. Arena Mode or in-game Mode.

The difference being everyone is on equal playing ground in Arena Mode, in in-game mode we could set a level cap and force people to create builds for characters. Impossible to tell the winner, but I think we can all be good sports about it. I say we cap levels at anywhere between 30 and 50. What do you guys think? All chars available, in-game fight and level caps?

Also, Blue is hella nerfed in arena. You don’t get X,X,X,Y attack :frowning: This is why I say we put a level cap. Whatever level you get the X,X,X,Y attack is my vote because it makes blue a viable character, and also gives other guys some options.

Seems like chars with arrow hail and bombs are pretty good actually in arena.

Sorry if this was posted already…

I saw this a long time ago. Still makes me laugh, and want to smack the shit out of that idiot every fucking time I see it.

XXXY combo isn’t acquired by level but by your magic stat(the third glowing bar)

Looks like the creators devblog is back up. They heard about all the issues, and now have issued a statement. Looks like they are taking e-mails about bugs so they can patch them. Here is the devblog statement.

http://devblog.thebehemoth.com/?p=325#comments

*First of all I wanted to apologize for our sites being down for the past few days. Apparently when everyone in the world tries to access our website at the same time, the server starts to freak out. Our hope was to have an increased amount of people visiting our sites (dev blog, forum, etc) but didnt expect this many. Whats the official word from our hosting provider you ask? Abuse and overuse!

On to the most important thing, Castle Crashers…

For those of you who are experiencing online issues, saving issues, etc I want to assure you that we are all very hard at work at getting an update to the game out as fast as we can. I am gathering all of the emails, forum posts, etc, etc for all of the issues that have been reported. As soon as I get them organized I will try to post them on here so everyone can see what were going to fix for the update. Again if you have any issues you want to discuss with us please email them to games[at]thebehemoth[dot]com and try to put a relevant subject line on there so I can sort through them easier. My next step is to get our forums back online without getting shut down again in the meantime you can find me on the Xbox forums.

Now we dont have official numbers from Microsoft yet but according to our friends over at vgchartz, The Behemoths anticipated beat em up smashes every record with 78,545 units. Apparently our 3 day sales are one of the highest recorded in Xbox LIVE Arcade history, sweet! Once we get some official numbers well post them heres but as of right now the leaderboards show 170,000 users listed!

Thanks so much everybody for your support and understanding. Without your amazing dedication we wouldnt even be here, so keep on crashing those castles and we will get everything smoothed out ASAP!

Thanks, we love you all !!!*

This may have been addressed already, but why does an equipped potion not always get used automatically when you die? It happens in some instances, and not in others.

It might be a bug? I noticed this too. Now they are taking bug reports hopefully it gets reported and patched.

It only happens in multiplayer right? In single player I never notice it happen
