A way to make Akuma playable: "Ban His Air Fireball"

sucks that backbone is not going to make another patch but in case they do they should:

-make akuma’s current air fireball cost 25% meter like sirlin’s had thought of with the original air fb

-make the hitbox on his air fireball smaller and make it possible for the lariat to go thru it

-fix his hitboxes

-nerf the damage and stun on his hurricane kick since the trade off with his hurricane kick has juggle properties

-nerf his dragon punches

-get rid of his raging demon super. he can use his meter for throwing air fireballs as originally planned.

I was just giving the op the indication that the air ball is just the icing on the cake.

Lots of players complain about EVO not giving this HD Akuma a shot and that the only way to determine if he is tourney material or not, is to compile data from several tournaments were he is allowed. My problem with this that most of these players are using the “re-balancing” of Super Sirlin to support that argument, but can anyone say that this HD Akuma isn’t stronger or less broken than the Vanilla Akuma?

I’m sure everyone agrees that the Vanilla Akuma was broken, but can anyone make an argument that this remixed Akuma is tourney playable and justify Sirlin’s changes as making him less powerful and more fair than he was in Vanilla? And I’m not just talking about he’s beatable if you try hard enough, because even the Vanilla Akuma was “beatable” but still banned from tourneys.

Assume HD Remix Akuma was in Vanilla. Would you ban him? Could anyone on the Vanilla roster beat Sirlin’s Akuma? If Vanilla Akuma fought Remix Akuma, who would win? Silly questions maybe, but I haven’t seen a decent argument yet about why HD remix Akuma needs tourney results to determine if he is EVO legit or that Sirlin’s changes on paper are good enough.

I’m interested in some opinions, but me I don’t care one way or the other. I just don’t think using Sirlin’s changes on paper is enough justification for Remix Akuma at EVO.

The angle of vst akuma’s air fb is what made him so broken that and hd akuma in addition to taking damage like a bitch takes buckets of stun like he’s fighting A2 guy every match not to mention with the buffs most of the cast got they can deal with him better then there vst counterparts would be able to.

Bottom line is hd akuma while still very powerful is really nothing compared to his vst counterpart.

I wonder?? Crossup fireball is something new and unescapable raging demon super is definitely something that needs to go. Comboing into his fireball imo is easier too although the fireball isnt as good at lockdowns. So if you are trying to compare hd remix akuma and the vst counterpart I seriously wonder who would be better in a side by side comparison. Also I honestly think that it is harder stun both st and hdr akuma more than anyone else in the game. Akuma was designed to be broken in the first place so I dont fault sirlin to be able to repair him.

I wouldn’t call HDR Akuma ‘nothing’ compared to his arcade ST version. The addition of raging demon alone is a massive buff.

Did backbone give a reason why they are not producing any further patches for hdr?

Well you know what they say. If it don’t make dollars it don’t make sense. Don’t quote me, but I am sure at the end of the day it has to do with $$$.

Capcom are cowards, they won’t even admit that there is something wrong with the PS3 version and that it needs to be fixed.

They won’t fix the PS3 version, so don’t expect a balance patch.

I think it would be more interesting if we banned everything except air fireball, Raging Demon and the Roundhouse button.
