I find it hilarious, you’re showing support for Marn. When he’s a humongous piece of shit and is pretty much everything people here have been arguing the FGC needs to stop.

I see it going 1 of 2 ways.
1.) Everyone is suddenly more respectful and somber while still bringing the hype. F-bombs will be dropped but no more N-bombs or sexist remarks.

2.) They think they’re cool and rebel and go all out being racist and sexist…and then EVO Organizers say they want nothing to do with color commentary and won’t have sp00ky stream EVO.

There are plenty of people commentating streams already who I find absolutely unbearable (for example, Chen and Spooky). I find, magically, that the matches are still really fun to watch with the sound off.

I have to admit, some of the better personalities make a boring match more fun to watch. TastySteve is hilarious with the references he makes, he’s basically a 90s kid like a lot of us. AquaSilk and Chris Hu are just too funny together. Some of the stuff they say just simultaneously clashes and works, like Chris would say talk about something they do in China and Aqua would have to sit there dumbfounded. Its easy to watch and listen, you are not gonna take a gold mine of knowledge out of every match, but you can at least have fun with it.
Bingo. I don’t remember hearing a single “nigga” “slut” “whore” in this commentary. FallingEdge, you’re telling me this is boring as fuck? Because I was jumping out of my damn seat watching this stream last year. Even if the commentary did have those words in it, thats definitely not what brought the hype.

If this community wants to grow then maybe throwing a few childish assholes like Aris and Marn under the bus isn’t such a bad idea. The fact remains that regardless of where you stand, the FGC has been forever damaged and I don’t think there is enough willpower to agree or figure out how we can repair the damage.
Truthfully, the FGC lost its way when it became more about being a celebrity than winning at the games themselves. Maybe its time for the community to grow up, get its focus to where it needs to be and go from there.
As for the situation with WNF, I’m conflicted because they should have known that ugly troll Marn would say something stupid or there was a chance of it and I don’t feel sorry for them in that aspect but the same time, LevelUp has done so much for the community that it sucks to see them get punished like that. Maybe a warning would have been more appropriate but after the last 48 hours, maybe I don’t blame SRK.
The problem is more saying that it’ll be the ruination of everything for some places to be cleaned up. Good matches are still fun to watch.
Yeah the good commentators can add to the experience, but boring commentators don’t ruin it. Anyways, like with most things there’s a good middle ground somwhere with this.
