He does cr.M then S, sjc jamming bomb into cube slime cube?
When I first saw that list I thought the same thing. Sucks though, because the further down the list you go the more questionable it becomes so most will disregard it.
Jamming bomb combos are the way of the future for MODOK. I dunno how a top tier really pans out in this game, but jamming bomb resets over and over are going to be such rape and easily top potential when someone gets really reliable with them
I think in the future ppl are going to catch on the jamming bomb controls and you’re going to have to kill.
If that ever happens, I would just snap people out of the match. They will have to test their might remembering if they have their controls jammed on incoming mixups. By then you could have a better mixups character(Magneto, Vergil, etc) do the incoming mixup, which will be much harder to block.
You can also end your combo and reset at just the right time so that the opponent has to guess whether or not to block left or right (ie. :f::h: and drones, into :l: blaster for a very good reset).

There is footage of me playing around 45:00 to maybe like 1:05:00 or so with Doom/MODOK/Skrull. I dropped Sentinel last week in favor of learning skrull and just not having doom as an anchor, didn’t use that team in the tourney tho (stuck to cap/spencer/doom).](‘http://www.twitch.tv/shaydogaming/b/309489965’)
anyway, no real fancy modok stuff aside from the occasional TAC at 1:04:00 or so and some good use of barrier assist. I really like that assist. in the corner that assist makes doom so godlike.
I think jamming bomb into a reset is the best use of the move. If MODOK ever became popular and the jamming bomb was a serious threat, people would learn to block the other way. Doing a reset into an already hard to block reset with jammed controls yields better results, especially if you vary your post jam combo so they have to switch their block mid reset. Personally, I think they should have switched the buttons too, that way people couldnt do combos/throw/mash as easily, but that would be too good.
I was just joking. Anyways your right. Snap. I kind of see modok as firebrand or the other way around. Just demolish a team. Its his main selling point. He has other tools but this is what makes him very unique.
Got 20 plus games in an online lobby. I dropped far too many combos and there is some sloppy play (mostly at the beginning), but there are some good points in it. First game is at 6:00, and I start some win streaks around 22:00, 50:00, and 1:20:00, and get off around 2:00:00. There is some awesome Jill play in the lobby as well.
If thats the case, how screwed were you when the guys controls were normalized? In addition, is it possible that jamming bomb effects go away when the opponent scores a hit?
Jamming bomb is still hands down about the best opportunity for a reset that you can get. If someone argues that people can block after they’ve been jammed then obviously they would get blocked if the guys controls were fine, and most likely their pattern has just become really predictable. Having to know how to do all you combos forwards and backwards is alot of work, just INCASE you run into a modok in a tourny?
If not for the audio cue, people could also mix up a normal balloon bomb and the guy could assume it’s a balloon bomb
I’d say just watch for the team super if you get to confident against a jammed opponent. It just takes 2 buttons and if they’re team is setup right they’ll be unjammed by the end of one of the supers and get in your shit.
Thats so true, i met him at the stunfest in france and he has an attitude like no one else. If u see him play there is one thing that not many players have that seperates him from the rest, hes ALWAYS enjoying the game even if hes losing.
Hes totaly enjoying the game and i think thats part of the reason why hes so good, he has so much fun/motivation.
RF is enjoying the game wheter he loses or wins and he never gets salty!
I wish i was like that. I know my modok sucks but even if i lose i get really salty. important such a bad sport.
No worries some of the best players get salty when they lose.
heard there were decent modok paluyers in pools today at FR. anyone have any links?
There was Rubeks…but he didn’t get top 16.
I think most pools weren’t streamed because they had to run them all at the same time due to time constraints. Sorry Ken.
So last night was the season finale of this local tournament that I host, only the 8 highest seeded players got to compete in this double elim tourney. I lost a freaking heartbreaker in my first match in the finale game because I risked dashing under haggar instead of blocking… ended up getting fourth which I guess isn’t too shabby considering I stuck with Modok/Doom all tournament. I even tried out some strider for the first time in a competitive situation and man that guy is cheap! anyway, archived footage should be up in HD soon so I’d appreciate it if you guys checked it out on youtube (i’ll provide the link later). There is some overall strong play by a variety of characters so idk, maybe it would be soemthing you like.
You can see it (not in HD) at www.twitch.tv/kensanity
Finally! My little project is done More free time is nice. (Sorry for the crappy quality.)

There are some Modok bnbs, some jamming bomb setups, neutral game ideas, etc. Not nearly everything I wanted to say is in the video, but most of the important stuff is in it. There is also some stuff on the more basic side, so that people who have never faced Modok or want to learn him might be able to pick up a thing or two. If anyone thinks anything in the video is wrong or just plain dumb or simply has a better alternative, please tell me.
I also find it funny that the soundtrack sounds a lot like Modok’s theme at certain parts…
