A.I.M. Labs: M.O.D.O.K. Video Thread

Yeah good shit to royal flush for repping the dok. your jamming bomb technique was inspiring. I was wondering why he would snap them out though when he could just go for the kill since I’m assuming most people don’t train for reverse controls.

I personally think Jamming Bomb is nasty when you snap them out. Because when jammed characters are coming in, you can tag in a good mixup character. For example… blocking a good Magneto when your controls are reverse is simply impossible

If you can’t get the kill, then snapping out usually guarantees the kill when they have to jump into your incoming setup and it’s usually easier to do than setting up a reset. But yeah, killing Wesker right away would have been the better option in my opinion. The snap did allow him to deal with the only character not jammed though. If he killed Wesker, Spencer would come in jammed for a free kill, and then Hawkeye with lvl 3 xf would come in. But then again, he could snap Hawkeye in for Spencer…

Hmmm I think they have synergy, it’s just that Royal Flush didn’t get to show it much because he was nervous… for example, I saw some midscreen combos that could have been relaunched but were finished with a puddle + cube. Or was it a mixup he was going for?

I love watching RF play. he always looks so happy, lol

I can’t wait to have played MODOK before it was cool.

Wait…there is more than one MODOK at WNF?:pleased:

Disturbed was playing Frank/MODOK/Doom…

I was impressed by the whole team overall.

Some cam footage of Yokohama MODOK playing. I feel like this guy is years ahead of my beginning thought process on building a team around MODOK. Right when I decided to play MODOK/Storm/Doom, I find footage of him playing the team. Now when I start considering Strider over Storm I see he is already there.

Good stuff.

How well does storm work for modok? I’ve been wanting to try her out but her assist don’t really my combos.

She is a mixed bag. She gives Modok options that few characters can, but she also lacks a lot of options that other characters can provide. I personally like how she moves around with her air dashes and float more than any character. She can stay in the air almost as long as Modok. But running her with Modok/Doom (which is my paring of choice) means I need to run Doom last, and he is not all that great an anchor. He is functional, but pretty easy to lock out.

But Storm gives Modok some amazing DHC options. Since he can dhc in the air you can blow up any assist call with a dhc into hail storm. Because she has a full screen cinematic hyper, you can punish people that are trying to throw big full screen hypers at you. Things like that are pretty meter costly, but very practical in a real match.

Whirlwind assist pushes back on block.

You can use Storm’s whirlwind for zoning purposes, and you can use it for slimes tech roll traps.

Reminder that Royal Flush will be at winter brawl.

On this particular part of winter brawl royal flush plays Justin Wong at 2:20 and Fab at 2:47. Even though I don’t agree with some of his combos and he could of did some punishes, I still do like and respect his modok play.

Man, RF never dissapoints…always looks like he is having so much fun. Everyone should play characters they love so they get on that RF high.

Is RoyalFlush in top 8 or top 16?

Don’t know…either way I hope people start respecting modok after wb. You can say RFs team has no synergy all you want, that only confirms how strong the characters and RF are.

It’s funny that Japan thinks so highly of MODOK. Some people here in America think the same thing…
